On Wednesday, we learned that police suspect that Leslie Carter, the sister of popstars Nick and Aaron Carter, died at the age of 25 as the result of a drug overdose. That same night, Nick performed a concert at Irving Plaza in NYC and paid homage to his late sister by dedicating a song to her memory. As I understand it, Nick was emotional all night long and had to leave the stage for a short while after he performed the song Falling Down for his sister Leslie. Yesterday OK! magazine sent the Interwebs afire with a news story that claimed that troubled popstar Aaron Carter confessed to them in a new interview that the late Michael Jackson gave him alcohol and drugs. Today, Carter‘s publicist is issuing staunch denials that Carter said any such thing. Carter is now flatly denying that he made any claims about drugs and alcohol where MJ is concerned … and he insists that OK! magazine completely made up the whole story.

Just days after the 2 year anniversary of Michael Jackson‘s death, OK! magazine is publishing an interview with troubled pop star Aaron Carter wherein he claims that MJ gave him drugs and alcohol during hang out sessions. Altho Aaron takes some responsibility by saying that he “could’ve refused” the offers of illicit (and illegal) items, it’s clear that the interview is meant to cast the late King of Pop in a negative light … but for what purpose? A few weeks ago we learned that former popstar turned trainwreck Aaron Carter checked himself into the Betty Ford Center rehab facility in order to try and overcome his addictions … today we learn that he has checked OUT and is a free man once again. After spending about a month in treatment, Carter left rehab and is reportedly working on a new album.

Oh, Aaron … again? Aaron Carter, the younger former pop-star brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, checked himself in to rehab this month in order to deal with his ongoing addiction problems. As you may recall, Carter announced his engagement to his girlfriend Maile Hochuli last April and then in May went on the record about Lindsay Lohan‘s problems with the law (he was all for her harsh punishment). Today, the focus is back on Aaron … and his new stint in rehab.

Aaron Carter, who just last month got engaged to his girlfriend Maile Hochuli, spoke with CNN this week about ex-girlfriend Lindsay Lohan‘s legal troubles. As you may recall, Lindsay appeared in court early Monday morning to answer charges that she violated the terms of her probation (which stems from her 2007 DUI conviction). While some called for Lohan‘s immediate incarceration, she was merely given a slap on the wrists as punishment. Carter, who’s had his own run-ins with the law, decided to speak out with his belief that Lindsay should be punished more seriously:

Aaron Carter has spoken up about his ex-girlfriend Lindsay Lohan’s legal problem during a chat with CNN interviewer on Tuesday Night, May 25. Instead of playing nice, the “Leave It Up to Me” singer gave her his tough advice, saying that the “Mean Girls” star deserves the court order. “It hurts me to see that. I hope she can really learn something from this,” Aaron, who proposed to his student/dancer girlfriend Maile Hochuli in early April, stated. “They are going to make an example of you now, Lindsay, and you deserve it. You don’t get in the car with two people and go chasing after your assistant going a hundred miles an hour down PCH,” Aaron continued. And what came next from the 22-year-old singer might even make Lindsay fumed as he said, “Michael Lohan is a very good man. He was thrown under the bus very bad by that family. It takes a man to keep a family strong sometimes. I would go and find her,” Aaron continued. “I wouldn’t even care about finding her mother.”

While I find it very difficult to take anything that Aaron Carter says seriously, I have to admit that I do agree with his assertion that Lindsay shouldn’t be pitied right now. I think tough love and real punishment might be the only things that will help her get her life in order and treating her with kid gloves will only reinforce the notion that she can do whatever she wants and get away with it. I think Aaron loses me when he talks about Michael Lohan. But, he is entitled to his opinion … so folks can take it or not. Aaron Carter‘s gettin’ married, y’all!! That’s right … take a moment to dry your tears and settle yourself … the young buck is now officially off the market. It was announced late yesterday that Carter proposed marriage to his longtime friend-turned girlfriend Maile Hochuli. Sooooo … I suppose congratulations are in order … Aaron and Maile are gettin’ hitched!

Former teen heartthrob Aaron Carter, 22, is off the market! He is engaged to marry his student/dancer girlfriend Maile Hochuli, 19. “Aaron took Maile to the movie Alice in Wonderland, which she has been dying to see,” a friend tells Star. “She didn’t get to see the end of the movie though because Aaron got down on a knee and proposed with a beautiful pear shaped diamond ring! Maile was completely overjoyed and said yes immediately!” The couple, who have been friends for years, only started seriously dating at the beginning of 2010. Aaron popped the question the last weekend in March. He was engaged to former Playboy model and Celebrity Rehab patient, Kari Ann Peniche, for a week in 2006. Although Maile currently lives in Orlando where she goes to school, she is making plans to move to Miami to be with Aaron. “Aaron and Maile have only been dating for a short period of time but they are both extremely happy,” the friend adds. “This is the happiest I have ever seen Maile.”

Yes, yes … this is all happy news … BUT, before we go poppin’ champagne bottles, let’s take this news with a bit of a grain of salt. As mentioned above, we should not forget that Carter has been engaged before — and that engagement only lasted a week. And yes, these two have been friends for “years” (apparently) but they’ve only started dating this year … and now they’re already engaged to be married? HMMM. I suppose I can understand why Maile would be thrilled to marry Aaron (she is young, after all) but I hope he treats her right. The 25th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles took place here in SoCal Sunday kicking off with a rally in West Hollywood, CA yesterday morning. A bunch of celebs took part in the walk in order to help raise funds for AIDS research charities … including George Takei, Felicity Huffman, La Toya Jackson and my dear friend Pauley Perrette. Here are a few pics of some of the celebs who participated in yesterday’s event and some deets about the AIDS Walk itself:

More than 30,000 people took part in Sunday’s 25th annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles, which benefits AIDS Project Los Angeles and several other Los Angeles-area AIDS service organizations. The opening ceremony began at 9:15 a.m., and the 6.2-mile walk started at 10 a.m. at West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. From there, walkers headed south on La Cienega Boulevard, east on Melrose Avenue, south on La Brea Avenue, west on Beverly Boulevard and north on San Vicente to return to the park. Among the celebrities who participated were Felicity Huffman, Aaron Carter, Mary Louise Parker, Darryl Stephens, George Takei and John Lloyd Young. A VIP post-walk reception hosted by actress Teri Hatcher began at noon. San Francisco Mayor and gubernatorial candidate Gavin Newsom attended, along with Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and West Hollywood Mayor Abbe Land. Villaraigosa and Land spoke to the crowd about the HIV/AIDS crisis in Los Angeles and the work of AIDS Project Los Angeles. “Today in L.A., there are 60,000 people living with HIV, and as many as a quarter of them don’t even know they are infected. It’s so important that we get them into testing and get them into treatment and care early so that they can stay healthy,” Colin Weil of AODS Project Los Angeles said.

I understand that this year’s AIDS Walk LA raised $3.15 million for the cause! Woot!! My hat is off to any person who gives of their time in this manner … thank all y’all who walked the walk and put your time where your money is to help find a cure for this deadly disease. Kudos and thanks again for your hard work this year!
