Epix Releases Teaser Clips From ‘Britney Spears Live: The Femme Fatale Tour’

We are just about 2 weeks away from the Epix premiere of Britney Spears Live: The Femme Fatale Tour and today we get to see some preview clips from the broadcast. I have to say, I’m a bit dismayed at this first look at the broadcast version of Britney‘s electric Femme Fatale Tour. As you can see/hear below, all of the vocals for the performance have been replaced with studio versions of the songs … and the audience has been completely dubbed out. Additionally, the performance looks … really flat. Check out the clips below and see for yourselves.

My Top Music Of 2009

Here are my selections of my fave music of the year. I’m afraid it was another lackluster year in music releases but, thankfully, there was enough great music to make 2009 bearable. Here is my list of my Top 10 Fave Albums of 2009 in reverse order:

At #10 is a tie between Whitney Houston‘s I Look To You and Mary J. Blige‘s Stronger With Each Tear:

Whitney Houston managed to pull off a stunning comeback with I Look To You (an album she’s been promising for years now) and I was lucky enough to be among the first folks to hear the album at an album listening event here in SoCal. Whitney‘s ’09 effort is full of great tracks, many of which got a lot of play in my house this year. Mary J. Blige‘s album just came out last week and I’m already crazy in love with it. It almost didn’t make the list but I’ve been listening to it non-stop since I bought it … compared to so much of the garbage that was released all year long, Stronger With Each Tear really shines brightly.

At #9 is Pete Yorn‘s Back & Forth:

Pete Yorn released another album this year with Scarlett Johansson and that disc, IMHO, is horrible. Back & Forth is classic Pete Yorn, full of great songwriting and melodies. There is a quality to Pete’s voice that really resonates with me … always has since he debuted on the music scene. This album is one of my fave pop/rock albums most definitely.

At #8 is White Lies, To Lose My Life …:

This British band was recommended to me by a Pink reader and I am so thankful for the head’s up. White Lies have this gothy sound to their music, which is most deffo pop in nature. They remind me a bit of a pop version of Bauhaus. This album was a very nice discovery this year. I can’t wait to hear more from this young band.

At #7 is Mariah Carey, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel:

To be honest, this album is far from Mariah‘s most successful album … and that is a damn shame. There are a bunch of really great Mimi tracks on this album that are just as good as the biggest, most successful singles of her career. It wasn’t until my good friend David Russell declared this album Mariah Carey‘s best of all time that I gave it serious consideration (David‘s opinions on pop music are impeccable). This is a great Mariah album, one which will prolly not be listed as such among her other monster hit releases.

At #6 is Bat for Lashes, Two Suns:

Lush, sensuous, mesmerizing, beautiful, magical. I can only think of adjectives when describing this album. It is a stunning effort by a new star on the musical landscape. My only wish is that Bat for Lashes enjoys a very long career so that she can continue to make music this wonderful.

Watch: Britney Spears, ‘3 (Director’s Cut)’

The director’s cut version of Britney Spears‘s latest music video 3 has just made its way to the Internets and, people, it’s awesome! This version of the video is far superior to the first video that was released a few weeks ago. As you can see, there was an extra scene filmed for the video that wasn’t included in the original music video and this version has a lot more dancing on Britney‘s part. Here are a few screencaps:

This new version of the video is HOT! I have no idea why this version was not released in the first place. After the jump, check it out for yourselves — you will love it …

"Let's just do it, you and me ... or three ... or four ..."

She’s been teasin’ us all week long but, at last, it’s out!!! The music video for Britney Spears‘s new single 3 has just been released to the Internets … check it out now:

So … what do y’all think? It’s hot, right? I LOVE the white, low-cut body suit … she looks effing fantastic! The choreography is dope … but it is kinda lame that they censored the word “sin” … I mean, seriously? I do like Britney’s facial expressions during the “break down” of the song … her expressions make the song even more cheeky ;) 3 is the new single taken from her upcoming release Britney Spears: The Singles Collection. LOOOOOOOVE this video … our dear Britney has done it again!! Thoughts, comments, raves?

“I think it’s her next sexy video”
The Director Of Britney Spears’s New Video Speaks

Diane Martel, the director of Britney Spears‘s new music video 3, gave a quick interview to Life & Style magazine and gossed to the mag about how the whole project came about and revealed some of Britney‘s involvement in production. While a release date for the vid has yet to be announced, these new comments about the music video should fuel the fire of anticipation:

The director of the video for Britney Spears’ single “3” tells Life & Style exclusively how the steamy sequence came together. “I think it’s her next sexy video,” says director Diane Martel. “It’s a very simple video for her — I don’t think you’ve seen her this much under a magnifying glass. Everything’s really strong and playful.” Britney helped with the look of the video, too. “We collaborated on the wardrobe and had meetings about hair and makeup people,” reveals Martel. “We talked a lot on the phone and met Tone and Rich — two of the best choreographers.” Martel says Britney was great to work with. “She’s so sweet and funny and so normal and down to earth. It’s really fun as a director to see her in front of the camera. She’s so creative with this stuff. The video is very simple, it’s very, very minimal. So it’s her, her, her. And she’s totally engaging every second. She really knows how to work with a camera and move. “I was really impressed, and I have worked almost with every female artist in the business,” Martel adds. Britney herself is excited about the results, posting on Twitter, “It’s gonna be hot!”

I am *very* excited that Tony and Rich are choreographing this video … it’s gonna be hot! It’s been far too long since Britney released a music video with a killer dance routine … I hope she really hits it out of the park with this vid. 3 just keeps growing on me … it’s one of those songs you can listen to on repeat. I can’t wait to see what the video looks like.

Behind The Scenes Of The Britney Spears ‘3’ Music Video Shoot

Yesterday we learned the wonderful news that Britney Spears‘s new single, 3, has debuted atop the Billboard magazine Hot 100 Singles Chart and today we get to see a bunch of fun photos from the set of the music video for this single. BritneySpears.com debuted a few behind the scenes photos, which you can see below, and issued a press release about Britney‘s latest #1 single and her upcoming Singles Collection release, which you can read here:

Britney Spears debuts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her new single “3,” making her the first artist to do so in over three years, Billboard magazine reports. The critically acclaimed single will also debut at #1 on the Billboard Digital charts. Rolling Stone Magazine called “3″ an “instant Britney classic,” and gave the hit a four-star review, building further anticipation for the release of her album The Singles Collection on Nov. 24. The song, recorded with hit maker Max Martin, trumped a title previous held by American Idol winner Taylor Hicks since 2006. Britney is the first artist outside of the American Idol camp to claim the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 since Lauren Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing”) in 1998, according to Billboard magazine. “I want to thank my fans for making “3″ the # 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100,” Britney said in response to the news. “I am truly blessed with the greatest fans in the world and I am so happy y’all love it because I do this all for you. I can’t wait till you see the video.” The video for “3″ will soon premiere on Britney.com, Britneyspears.com and her other official web properties. “3″ becomes the latest Britney classic and is the only new song to appear on The Singles Collection. There will be two configurations of The Singles Collection; an ultimate fan box set and a standard version. The ultimate fan box set version of The Singles Collection will contain all 29 of her singles, including the new song “3.” Each disc will be packaged in its own slip sleeve case with original artwork, and will include an additional b-side or a remix of the track. The collection will include a DVD featuring all of Britney’s videos in chronological order. The ultimate fan box set will also include a special booklet featuring iconic images and fun facts about each track. The standard version of The Singles Collection will contain 17 of her chart topping favorites along with the new song “3,” all on one CD. During her 10 year career, Britney has had 5 albums debut at the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 100 Album Chart, as well as 23 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart. Worldwide, Britney Spears is one of the top-selling artists of the last decade, constantly topping charts with her albums …Baby One More Time (1999); Oops!… I Did It Again (2000); Britney (2001); In The Zone (2003); Blackout (2007) and Circus (2008). Worldwide she has sold over 63 million albums. Britney Spears is currently touring in support of her most recent studio album Circus. “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” tour which started in her home state of Louisiana in March 2009.

Ooooh, it looks like this music video is going to be FUN! I understand the choreography is going to be very upbeat and technical, something we haven’t seen from our dear Britney in some time. My fave of Britney’s videos are the ones where she is dancing her ass off. After the jump, check out a few more photos of Britney and her dancers on the set of the 3 music video shoot …

Our dear Britney scores her third #1 song
Britney Spears’s New Single ‘3’ Debuts At #1

Congratulations are in order for Britney Spears today … her new single 3 has debuted in the #1 position on the Billboard magazine Hot 100 Singles Chart giving her her third #1 song of her career. Even more impressive, 3 is the first song to debut at #1 in more than 3 years and is the first NON-American Idol song to debut at #1 in almost 11 years!!!

Britney Spears becomes the first artist in over three years to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, to be released tomorrow (Oct. 15), as “3″ opens at the pinnacle of the chart. Her new track, a racy paean to the joys of three-way sex from the upcoming hits set “The Singles Collection,” due Nov. 24, shifts 255,000 downloads in its first week of release, also propelling it to No. 1 on Digital Songs. The title also jumps 38-25 on the Pop Songs chart and debuts at No. 49 on Radio Songs/Hot 100 Airplay, which ranks songs based on airplay audience on all radio formats. “3″ is the first title to debut at No. 1 since Taylor Hicks’ “American Idol” victory song “Do I Make You Proud” did so on the chart dated July 1, 2006. In fact, the last four songs to open at No. 1 were all “American Idol”-related. Prior to Hicks, Carrie Underwood’s “Inside Your Heaven” (July 2, 2005), “I Believe” by Fantasia (July 10, 2004) and Clay Aiken’s “This Is The Night” each debuted at No. 1. The last non-”Idol” song to open at No. 1 was Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” on Nov. 14, 1998. “3″ is Spears’ third Hot 100 No. 1. Her debut single “…Baby One More Time” spent two weeks at No. 1 in 1999 and “Womanizer” spent a sole frame at the top, exactly one year ago this week, on the chart dated Oct. 25, 2008.

Woooot!!! What amazing news!!! While I’m still pretty stunned to realize that Britney has only ever previously enjoyed 2 #1 songs, the stunning success of 3 more than makes up for it. I knew that the song was doing well but I had no idea it was doing this well. Congratulations of the highest degree are deffo in order for our dear Britney today. In case you are one of the few folks who has yet to hear 3, you can give it a listen after the jump …

"Livin’ in sin is the new thing"
First Listen: Britney Spears, ‘3’

It’s out!! Britney Spears‘s new single, 3, which will be included on her new album Britney Spears: The Singles Collection (due out in November) has made it’s debut on US radio for all to hear. It turns out that Brit Brit decided to release a song that champions the wonders of the ménage à trois … or threesome. The lyrics of the song are not subtle at all, behold:

3
(M.Martin/Shellback/T.Amber)

1, 2, 3
Not only you and me
Got one eighty degrees
And I’m caught in between
Countin’
1, 2, 3
Peter, Paul & Mary
Gettin’ down with 3P
Everybody loves ***
Countin’

Babe, pick a night
To come out and play
If it’s alright
What do you say?

Merrier the more
Triple fun that way
Twister on the floor
What do you say?

Are – you in
Livin’ in sin is the new thing (yeah)
Are – you in
I am countin’!

1, 2, 3
Not only you and me
Got one eighty degrees
And I’m caught in between
Countin’
1, 2, 3
Peter, Paul & Mary
Gettin’ down with 3P
Everybody loves ***
Countin’

Three is a charm
Two is not the same
I don’t see the harm
So are you game?

Lets’ make a team
Make ‘em say my name
Lovin’ the extreme
Now are you game?

Are – you in
Livin’ in sin is the new thing
Are – you in
I am countin’!

1, 2, 3
Not only you and me
Got one eighty degrees
And I’m caught in between
Countin’
1, 2, 3
Peter, Paul & Mary
Gettin’ down with 3P
Everybody loves ***

What we do is innocent
Just for fun and nothin’ meant
If you don’t like the company
Let’s just do it you and me
You and me…
Or three….
Or four….
- On the floor!

HMMM … but what does it sound like? It is upbeat as I hoped, has a bit of a electro feel to it … sounds like it came from the recording sessions for her last album Circus rather than her previous recording sessions. After all, pretty much all of the unreleased demos from Blackout were leaked to the Internets and this song was not among them. After the jump, listen to 3 in full and judge the song for yourselves …
