Watch: This ‘Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ Fan Film Created By Joseph Kahn Is The Best Thing You’ve Ever Seen

Die! Die! Power Rangers!!

Music video director Joseph Kahn (the man responsible for some of the greatest Britney Spears videos of all time) has shown himself to be a huge fan of the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers with the release of the short film embedded above titled Power/Rangers. This short film stars actors Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek) and it puts a very dark, serious tone on the children’s TV series. Kahn swears that this short film is “not a pilot, not a series, not for profit, strictly for exhibition” and he insists that he would even want to really direct an actual Power Rangers movie:

“The irony here is that I wouldn’t even want to make Power Rangers: The Movie for real. Like if I had to make a Power Rangers movie, this is it. It’s 14 minutes long and it’s violent and this is what I have in me. If they offered me the $200 million version, the PG-13 version, I literally wouldn’t do it. It’s just not interesting to me.”

Even still, he has done an excellent job with this fan creation of his. I’ve watched this short film a couple of times now, it’s really brilliant. Even if you’re not a Power Rangers fan, I think you’ll enjoy this video. It’s really great, isn’t it?

Watch: Here Is Video Of Kanye West Accepting The Visionary Award At The BET Honors

Last night, BET aired The BET Honors award show that was taped back in January … giving us out first chance to watch Kanye West accept this year’s Visionary Award. As you can imagine, Kanye gave a speech for the ages. His speech went on for about 8 minutes (something he got away with because the awards show as pre-taped) and he name-checked a lot of people, made points about race, marriage, fashion, music … you name it. Thankfully, Kanye‘s comments were thoughtful and his speech was well-spoken. If you have the time, the video below may be worth your time. Click below to hear the words of BET‘s Visionary Award recipient for 2015. More »

Patricia Arquette Attempts To Clarify The Feminist Comments She Made On Oscar Night

On Oscar night, Best Supporting Actress winner Patricia Arquette gave a stirring acceptance speech on stage that boldly called for the equal payment of women in the workforce. Her speech was so stirring that it inspired people in the audience to give her a standing ovation. Backstage, Patty mucked up her initial comments by making a, IMHO, silly claim that it is incumbent on minorities and gays to step up and fight for equal pay for women — forgetting that minorities and gays are made up of women, too — and seemingly suggesting minorities and gay owe a duty to white women. On her official Twitter profile, Arquette attempted to defend and clarify what she was trying to convey but … I don’t think she did a very good job. Click below to read her follow-up tweets and see what you think. More »

Nick Gordon Puts Bobbi Kristina’s Absent Father Bobby Brown On Blast On Twitter

I need to preface this post by saying I am not on Team Nick Gordon. Actually, I’m not on Team Bobby Brown either … but previously, we learned of the feud that has been ongoing between Bobby Brown and Nick Gordon over Nick‘s attempts to visit Bobbi Kristina (who is still on life support) in the hospital. Today, we learn of a series of tweets that Nick posted on his official Twitter profile putting Bobby Brown and his parenting skills on BLAST. According to Nick, before Bobbi‘s accident, Brown had only “seen his daughter 4 times in the past 5 yrs” (Nick‘s grammar is pretty bad, sorry about that). Click below to read what else he has to say. ‘The Walking Dead’ Features A Same-Sex Kiss And Homophobic Fans Went Crazy

AMC introduced a pair of gay characters on The Walking Dead this past Sunday night who showed their love and affection for one another when they shared a kiss on screen. Aaron and his parter Eric are characters introduced in The Walking Dead comic book series years ago so it is really great that after 5 1/2 seasons, the TV series has finally introduced them to the show. But, while many people, like me, were happy to see these gay characters share a kiss on TV, a bunch of homophobic idiots took to Twitter to voice their displeasure. A collection of the more colorful, yet horribly offensive and NSFW Twitter comments are collected below in order to bring attention to the fact that homophobic hatred continues to thrive despite the huge strides our culture has taken toward the progression of equal treatment of all people. Watch: Ed Sheeran Covers Christina Aguilera’s ‘Dirrty’ In The BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

"Sweatin' til my clothes come off"

Earlier today we saw amazing video of Christina Aguilera doing her best singing impression of Britney Spears and right now, we get to hear Ed Sheeran put his spin on a Xtina song. Ed stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge today to perform a cover of Xtina‘s 2002 song Dirrty and as you can hear above, he was able to transform the song into his own style of music. A few days ago, we saw video of Chvrches covering Cry Me A River by Justin Timberlake in the Live Lounge and I’d say Ed‘s cover of Xtina‘s song is just as transformative. Check out the video above and hear Ed singing about sweatin’ til his clothes come off as he gets a little Dirrty with Xtina‘s pop hit.

Joe Manganiello & Sofia Vergara Have Decided To Postpone Their Summer Wedding

Back in December we learned the happy news that actors Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello got themselves engaged to be married and we heard that the couple were planning to get married this summer. Today we learn that Jofia have decided to postpone their wedding because the release and promotion of Joe‘s new movie Magic Mike XXL got in the way. Never fear, Jofia fans … according to the couple, they are now planning to get married later in the year so … hopefully, this wedding postponement won’t keep us waiting too much longer. More »

First Listen: Kelly Clarkson Releases Her New Album Title Track ‘Piece By Piece’

Yesterday we got to hear Kelly Clarkson‘s new song Invincible, which was written by Sia, and today we get to hear the title track from Kelly‘s new album Piece By Piece. To promote the album, Kelly is releasing a new song each day to get fans excited to hear the album in full. According to the tweet that Kelly sent out earlier today, the song Piece By Piece is her “most personal” song on the album Piece By Piece … which, I’ve surmised, is probably why it was chosen as the title track. I’ve listened to the song a few times already and I really like it. It’s a mid-tempo jam that is a classic Kelly Clarkson track. More »

Getting ‘Lost’ Again

Last night I made my way to the ArcLight Theater in Hollywood for a special screening of Lost in Translation. Lost is absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time and to be able to see it on the big screen again was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss. Last year, when I visited Tokyo, Japan for the first time, I was able to live out my Lost In Translation fantasies (it was that movie that made me fall in love with Tokyo in the first place). Watching the movie again on the big screen took me back to Japan … and that was a really great feeling. More »
