Back in November, we got our first listen of Eminem‘s new song Detroit Vs. Everybody, which features guest performances by Royce da 5’9″, Big Sean, Danny Brown, Dej Loaf and Trick Trick. Today we get to see the just-released music video for the song, which does feature all of the guest rappers on the track. Filmed in Detroit, this video is an excellent representation of the beautiful city that I love. Click the embed above to watch Detroit all-star video for Detroit Vs. Everybody.
Sad, sad, sad news to pass along, frequent fliers … the iconic airline magazine/catalog SkyMall has filed for bankruptcy in an effort to clear their debt and sell their assets … which means that the magazine is totally dunzo. Boo! I can’t even tell you how much I love SkyMall. I may have blogged about the mag a few times (HERE, HERE and HERE) so, yeah, news of SkyMall‘s demise is a huge bummer for me ;( More »

Last night, Sarah and I met up with our friend Erik for a night of dinner and catching up in the oh-so-cold Detroit Rock City and we had a blast. We did a fair share of catching up over dinner but it was only after we made our way out for drinks afterward that the sharing really got good. I always have a great time when I’m with Sarah and Erik and last night was no exception. It may be cold in The D but it’s so good to be back home with my peoples. More »
A week ago today, we learned that the US Supreme Court has decided to take up the case that will determine — once and for all — the legality of same-sex marriage here in the United States. In an interview at the White House with You Tube star GloZell Green, President Obama expressed his desire for the Supreme Court to come “to the right decision” and legalize same-sex marriage in our country. President Obama has spoken openly about his support for marriage equality in the past, so his comments in the interview embedded above aren’t a big surprise … but it’s still nice to hear our president endorse the equal treatment of all US citizens when it comes to marriage equality. The full interview is 47 minutes long but you can skip to the 23:40 mark of the video to hear Obama‘s comments on the upcoming Supreme Court decision.
Remember that movie that Sarah Michelle Gellar filmed in NYC that was titled Veronika Decides to Die? Of course you don’t because she filmed the movie way back in 2008, which is basically a million years ago. Some of you PITNB old schoolers may remember this SMG film because, at the time, I was very excited that Gellar was returning to us for the first time since Buffy the Vampire Slayer went off the air. Since that time, SMG has starred in two failed TV shows — Ringer on The CW and The Crazy Ones on CBS — and Veronika was never released … until now. Almost 7 years after it was filmed, Veronika Decides to Die is finally being released here in the US … via Video On Demand. Click below to learn more/be reminded of this new old SMG movie and watch a clip of footage from Veronika Decides to Die. More »
Rick Owens debuted his Spring/Summer 2015 menswear collection at Paris Fashion Week yesterday in front of the world’s cameras and managed to garner a lot of attention NOT for the clothing designs he showed off but for the fully exposed flaccid dicks he sent down the runway. As you can see in the gallery presented here, a few of the models who walked the runway yesterday wore garments that were designed to show off their flappy dicks (which didn’t do the models any favors considering how chilly it probably was in the showroom). It would appear that Dick Owens is trying to make exposed penises the new fashion trend for men in 2015. Click trough the gallery if you dare to see, first, a few promo images of Owens‘s new S/S 2015 menswear collection (sans dicks) and then see a few photos of the exposed penises that strutted their way down the runway yesterday. What say you, fashionistas? Are dicks the new black this season?

Kanye West was a featured speaker at the iHeartMedia Music Summit at the iHeartRadio Theatre in Burbank, CA last night to discuss his love of radio (“Of course I want to be on the radio!“) even though he previously said that he hated radio. He was also on hand to unveil a new song he recorded with Rihanna, a song that he may release to the rest of us soon. As far as Kanye West appearances go, it sounds like last night’s appearance at the iHeartMedia event went pretty smoothly … which, I have to admit, is kinda boring for Kanye West. More »

Last September, Emma Watson delivered a powerful speech on the virtues of feminism at the United Nations — a speech that garnered lots of attention not only because of Emma‘s fame as an actress but, more importantly, because the speech she delivered spoke to the hearts and minds of women and men (young and old) worldwide. Earlier today, at the World Economic Forum at Davos in Switzerland, Emma delivered a follow-up speech that, in part, featured questions that have sprung up in the wake of her previous speech:
I spoke about some of my story in September – what are your stories? Girls: Who have been your mentors, parents, did you make sure you treated your children equally? If so, how have you done it? Husbands: Have you been supporting your female partner privately so that she can fulfill her dreams too? Young men: Have you spoke up in a conversation when a woman was casually degraded or dismissed? … Businessmen: Have you mentored, supported or engaged women in leadership positions? Writers: Have you challenged the language and imagery used to portray women in the media? CEOs: Have you implemented the women’s empowerment principles in your own company?
The video embedded above of Emma‘s speech today is only 5 1/2 minutes long and is absolutely worth your time. Emma Watson continues to devote her time, her energy and her impressive intelligence and eloquence in an effort to educate and enlighten on feminist matters. She is an inspiration with a voice that deserves to be heard far and wide.
