Listen: Local H Rocks Out On Their Cover Of ‘Team’ By Lorde

"Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams"

PITNB reader Christine pointed me in the direction of this BRILLIANT cover of Lorde‘s song Team by the rock duo Local H which she shared on her website Thirty Roses and I simply had to share it with all y’all here as well. As you may recall, I shared last month video of the Scottish band Chvrches putting their own spin on this Lorde song … but this Local H version is harder, more masculine. I’ve been a fan of Local H since the mid/late-90′s (in fact, one of the last concerts that I saw in Oklahoma when I was in college at OU was Local H at the Bricktown Brewery) but I haven’t listened to them in some time. This cover is a great reminder of how great this band truly is. I’ve always been so impressed with how adept a band made up of 2 people can be. If you like the track, you can download it HERE on iTunes. Much love to Christine for sharing this video. Head over to her site HERE to hear Local H‘s cover of Toxic by Britney Spears :)

First Listen: Courtney Love Returns With A New Song Titled ‘You Know My Name’

"I'll never change"

Earlier this month, Courtney Love announced that the original members of Hole would be reuniting and then had to backtrack on that announcement because, apparently, she spoke too soon. Undaunted, Courtney is moving forward with the release of her own solo music and today delivers unto us a new song titled You Know My Name. This new track will be featured on a double A side single along with the song Wedding Day, set for release on May 4. Click above to get your first listen of C. Love‘s new music. I must admit, her voice sounds very strong — which I like very much — but I’ll have to listen to the song a few times to get a better sense for it overall. What do you think?

First Listen: Miranda Kerr Makes Her Singing Debut On A Duet With Bobby Fox

Miranda's Singing Debut

Yesterday we got our first listen of supermodel Gisele Bündchen singing the Blondie hit Heart of Glass in a new ad campaign video for H&M. Today we get to hear fellow supermodel Miranda Kerr making her singing debut on the new single You’re The Boss by Irish singer Bobby Fox. Clearly Nostalgic

Inspired by the 25th anniversary of the Nintendo Game Boy yesterday, I went digging further into my Closet of WondersTM (aka my closet packed full of fun crap) and found my stash of classic video games. After I played Tetris for about an hour on my Game Boy, I decided to switch things up and play a game of Pokémon on my see-thru purple Game Boy Color. Yes folks, this is how I spent my Monday night. Because it had been many years since I played any Pokémon game, it took me a while to get back into the swing of the game. Needless to say, I didn’t even come close to completing the game last night … but I did have fun trying. More »
