A few months ago we heard that the Sydney originated short film festival, Tropfest, will be debuting in New York this summer. As a Sydney-sider, I have loved Tropfest for years. It started as a local and very small short film festival out of a cafe in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst, and has grown over the years into the world’s largest FREE short film festival attached to an annual summer outdoor event that attracts hundreds of thousands of people. This year Tropfest is branching out into the U.S. and will be held on the 23rd of June in NYC’s Bryant Park. In February, the sequel film G.I. Joe: Retaliation released a pretty action-packed Super Bowl commercial … today, we get to check out two new trailers that blow that Super Bowl commercial out of the water. Retaliation has released both a domestic and an international trailer that give us a better understanding of the film’s plot. These trailers also clue us in to the fact that Duke (played by Channing Tatum) will NOT be featured as a key character in the sequel. A new group of Joes will battle Cobra this time around. The Walt Disney Animation Research Library issued a press release today to publicly wish a Happy Birthday to famed Disney animation director Ron Clements … and in the process, they revealed that plans are in the works for a new hand-drawn animated film. Clements previously worked on the Disney animated films The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Heracles, The Princess and the Frog and more … and is currently working on an as-yet unnamed new hand-drawn animated feature! Back in March, we learned that the real life brownstone apartment in NYC, NY that was used as Carrie Bradshaw‘s fictional home in Sex and the City was up for sale. Today we learn that the apartment has sold for quite a pretty penny. Absent the fact that the apartment has pop cultural value as Carrie‘s “real life” Sex and the City apartment, we learned that the interior of the home is just stunningly beautiful. So beautiful that the new owners decided to shell out $9.85 million bucks to buy it. Dang. More »

So … I finally have about 5 minutes to breathe before I have to take care of another 10,000 things. Yesterday was a pretty hectic day for me. Our flight from NYC to LA was much earlier in the day that usual and I had some errands to take care of before I flew out so my work day was shorter than usual. It looks like today will be another hectic day for me. Already, I’ve run out to the tailor to pick up my tuxedo for Emma and Josh’s wedding this weekend but I still have a bunch of things to take care of this afternoon before I head out to the Walt Disney Studio lot in Burbank, CA for an early screening of The Avengers. I know, it sounds like I’m complaining … but believe me, I’m not. It’s just … dang, there’s so much to do in so little time. More »

Actor Ray Stevenson has been added to the season 7 cast of the show.
