Homeward Bound, Yet Again

David and I will be making our way back East to Detroit, MI for the rest of the week to celebrate my dad’s birthday tomorrow. Dad doesn’t know that we’re coming … and, thankfully, he’s way too old to even know how to power on a computer so I think the secret is safe. Altho I really am not looking forward to the very cold weather back home in D-town, I am very much looking forward to surprising my Dad for his birthday … and I’m also very much looking forward to seeing my family and friends. Madonna Up Close And Personal At The NY Screening Of ‘W.E.’

Last night, in the pouring New York rain, I headed uptown to the Ziegfeld Theater on 54th Street for the screening of Madonna’s directorial debut, W.E. My gorgeous friend, Zoe, and I waited in line on the red carpet and got shivers as Madonna approached us, up close and personal… her stunning dress, her charisma, old Hollywood glamor, Madonna the icon is as magnificent as ever. There are few stars in her class. More »

Cynthia Nixon Says She Chooses To Be Gay

Comments made by Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon about homosexuality being a “choice” have been ruffling a few feathers. I’ve read headlines that erroneously quote Nixon as saying “Homosexuality is a Choice” and that assertion is completely false. What Cynthia actually said is for HER, being gay is a choice. I think it is very important to make the distinction that Cynthia Nixon is speaking for herself and no one else. Click below to read what Cynthia Nixon has to say about her personal decision to “choose to be gay” … but read her comments in full before you jump to any conclusions. More »

The 2012 Academy Award Nominations Have Been Announced

The nominations for the 84th annual Academy Awards were just announced here in Hollywood and while a lot of the films that have been getting lots of love at other awards shows also scored Oscar noms, there are a few surprises in this new crop of Academy Award nominations. The Artist, the film getting all of the buzz lately, managed to nab 10 nominations but the Martin Scorsese film Hugo (which has gotten almost NO buzz from the public at all) bested it with 11 nominations — including one for Best Picture. The new Oscar nomination rules that went into effect a few years ago make it possible for anywhere between 5 and 10 films to be nominated for Best Picture … this year, there are 9 films up for the biggest prize — The Artist, The Descendants, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Help, Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life and War Horse. Click below for more about this year’s Oscar noms and find out if your fave films/actors managed to get a nomination this year. More »

Fashionista Justin Bieber Attempts To Start A New Fashion Trend

Oh man … what is going on here? Popstar Justin Bieber was spotted making his way thru LAX Airport this weekend and he was wearing … well … quite an outfit. Now, the fuzzy hat (which I HOPE is fake) is kinda forgivable because it’s a look that hipsters have made “cool” for some time now. But The Biebs was rockin’ a new fashion fad that I really hope does NOT take off with his legion of fans. Check out Bieber‘s pants tucked into socks look below and get your first look at what might be the new fetch thing for kids to do. More »
