Steve McQueen (director of Hunger and last year’s Shame) has a new film in the works, titled Twelve Years A Slave. The current cast list is an exciting, somewhat eclectic group, and I cannot wait to see how they all mesh together with this director. So far Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Michael K. Williams (aka Omar from The Wire or Chalky White from HBO‘s Boardwalk Empire) and Paul Giamatti are all on board. In 2013 James Franco, Jennifer Hudson, The Backstreet Boys, and Helen Mirren are just a few celebs who will receive their bright and shining star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. This is truly an exciting time for everyone involved and we think the honor is well-deserved by these talented recipients. In fact, it’s kinda hard to believe that many of them don’t already have stars! But, they’ve got ‘em now. Click inside to see who else is getting a star.
Back in 2004 Britney Spears (or her record company, actually) released her first compilation album Greatest Hits: My Prerogative. In 2009, another Britney compilation was released compiling all of her singles to date … it was titled simply, The Singles Collection. In the eyes of Britney‘s record company, it would seem time again for the release of another compilation album. This month, a 16-track compilation titled Oops! I Did It Again: The Best Of Britney Spears is set for release. Click below to see the album art and compilation tracklist. More »
Liz Phair, one of my fave musicians of all time, is ready to make a new album. As you may recall, we learned yesterday that Rolling Stone magazine listed Phair‘s debut album Exile In Guyville as one of their Top 50 Albums from Women Who Rock but today we learn that she is ready to get back in the studio to make new music … and this time, she wants a little help from another one of my fave musicians of all time — Ryan Adams. Clearly, I’ve been a very good boy because a collaboration between Liz Phair and Ryan Adams is something that would MAKE MY LIFE! More »
Woot!! I have some great casting news to pass along today. Academy Award-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson has been added to the season 2 cast of the NBC drama Smash. As you may know, Smash tells the tale of the creation of the fictional Broadway musical Bombshell, based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. Season 1 of the show featured guest stars like Nick Jonas and Uma Thurman. For season 2, producers are pulling out the big guns … J. Hud will feature in a multi-episode arc as a character named Veronica Moore. More »

Last week we got to hear Frank Ocean‘s 10-minute long single/ballad Pyramid, which I absolutely loved. With the release of his debut album (Channel Orange) just a few weeks away, Ocean has decided to give us another preview of the good things to come. And Andre 3000 is one of them, so we can all do our happy music dance now :)
Early this morning, I made my way to Griffith Park for my second week of marathon training with Team 2 End AIDS. As you may recall, I started my marathon training last week so I’m off and, um, running. This week’s training run was a pretty easy 3 miles … which, I have to say, is very cool because I never in my wildest dreams thought running 3 miles would be “easy”. As my milage increases, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 miles will be easy runs. And that is something I am very much looking forward to. More »
n the video which are you are about to experience (far, far away from bosses, children, and women who take serious pride in their Boston heritage), there are things so ridiculously funny, I am no longer embarrassed to admit that I plan to see this movie. Seth MacFarlane, Family Guy creator and director of Ted, describes his debut film as, “A warm, fuzzy, heart-felt, f***ed up fairy tale.” Based on what I just watched, that sounds entirely accurate. Bad words and boobies inside.
Back in May we heard that producers started the search for the perfect actor to play Finnick Odair in the forthcoming sequel film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Earlier this month, we learned that Academy Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman is reportedly in negotiations to play the role of Gamesmaker Plutarch Heavensbee. Today we learn that the amazing Austrailian actress Mia Wasikowska is “in the mix” for the role of Johanna Mason. I have to say, this latest bit of casting rumor is very exciting! More »
