Solange may be Beyonce‘s cute baby sister, but only if you don’t follow Solange on her twitter and tumblr. This girl is a hella stylish (yes, to the point of being bizarre sometimes), artsy, risk-taking talent in her own right. Yet and still… there’s no escaping the fun fact that she’s Beyonce‘s little sister. When Solange tweeted a couple of adorable pics of the two of them (and, ya know, their helicopter) I knew I had to share. Sisterly lurve goin down inside.
At the beginning of the month we got to see Rihanna and Chris Martin of Coldplay do some funky samurai/Crouching Tiger-esque (somewhat culturally problematic) stuff in the video for Princess Of China. A lot of you gave the song a “meh,” but they’ve just released an acoustic version that has a slightly different sound. Maybe you likey this one better? Take a listen inside :)
here are plenty of good reasons to be semi-addicted to Instagram– Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Swizz Beatz are a few celebs with very popular accounts, and rightfully so. Here’s one more reason to make goo-goo eyes at what is, arguably, Apple‘s coolest app ever: @Instagrafite (sounds like “insta-grafitti”). This gallery of all things street art just had me lost in a seemingly infinite vortex of beautiful, outrageous images on concrete. Get lost with me inside.
em>National Anthem will be the next single from Lana Del Rey‘s album Born To Die and methinks the video will be kinda cray! The artist (who Trent recently saw perform live) just tweeted a couple of sneak peek pics of her Jackie O look. Pics and deets and me gushing over A$AP Rocky to an obscene amount inside.

Last month we got our first look at a scruffy-looking Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of his new film, Enemy. Today we get to see new photos of Jakey poo on set getting some acting direction from director Denis Villeneuve. As you may recall, we learned that Enemy is based on the Jose Saramago novel The Double which tells the tale of a troubled History teacher in search of his doppelgänger. Honestly, the film sounds disturbing and dark … not at all the type of film we normally get from Jake. Click below to see some new photos from the set. More »
Last month we learned that singer André Lauren Benjamin, better known as André 3000, was cast in the lead role of Jimi Hendrix in a biopic film about the late musician titled All Is By My Side. Today we get our first look at André 3000 in character as Hendrix on the Dublin, Ireland set of the film. As you can see below, André filmed scenes with his co-star Hayley Atwell and, to be honest, the pair do look like characters they portray in the film. Check it out. More »

Over the weekend, I made my way out to the movie theater to see the new Disney/Pixar film Brave and while I generally liked the film, I’m sorry to say that I didn’t love the film. Because Brave is a Pixar film, I had high expectations concerning animation, character development and story. Again, I’m sorry to say that those expectations were not met in my eyes. While I liked Brave and would encourage others to see the film, I cannot say that it is one of my fave Pixar films … in fact, I found that the film missed the mark on a few fronts, making it feel very un-Pixar-like. Click below to read my thoughts on the film but be warned, there are spoilers that you may want to avoid if you’ve not yet seen the film. More »

Yesterday was a much more productive day than my Saturday was. While Saturday was a day for lazing about, Sunday was a day for getting out and enjoying the beautiful SoCal Summer weather. After I did a bit of work in the AM, David and I made our way to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art so that we could see the new Levitated Mass art exhibit that went on display yesterday. After our visit to the museum, we went to the movies to see Brave. Last night, we ventured out for a nice evening stroll together. All in all, it was one of those perfectly perfect Sundays. More »
