Die-hard fans of The Wire, I know you’re on here. And I know you’re still not over your loss, so here’s some new footage of The Wire… lego-ized. A little while back we saw Inception get the Lego treatment, which was pretty awesome and now we have this. Life is good. And Omar is in the building!

The Huffington Post has a fantastic online series of photography projects with a cultural bend. This week they’re introducing James Mollison‘s book, Where Children Sleep, which was published a while back (as PITNBrs Becca and Missy pointed out). Mollison has taken amazing, powerful photos of children and their rooms from around the world. I enjoyed the pictures immensely, but a lot of readers are accusing Mollison of bias and really, lack of creativity. The difference between the rooms of the kids in America and the kids in say, Palestine is vast (for obvious reasons). But did the artists portray American kids as the spoiled, rich brats that many of them aren’t? Checkie out inside.
Sometimes, the stars just align perfectly. Johnny Depp will finally take a lead role in a Wes Anderson flick. Thank you, gods of cinema. Thank you. The Grand Budapest Hotel is the very Wes Anderson-sounding Wes Anderson (remember The Darjeeling Limited?) film and it comes right on the tails of his success with Moonrise Kingdom, which I’m still obsessing over (see here). Luckily, we won’t have to wait long for another presumably amazing picture and the fact that Johnny Boy is on board means we have a lot to mentally prepare for in the coming months. Good times, good times, inside!

As many of us remember, the late Michael Jackson went to great (sometimes unbelievable) lengths to keep his children, Paris and Prince Jackson, out of the limelight. Paris, now fourteen, has landed a lead role in the forthcoming fantasy movie Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys. While this is probably exciting news for a young girl with dreams of acting, her Aunt Janet Jackson has a very different take, and feels that her deceased brother would not be pleased to see his daughter entering showbiz at such a young age. Details inside.
Last week we got to check out a new movie trailer for the forthcoming gangster film Gangster Squad and today we get to check out a just-released new movie poster. Because the film features a group of pretty high profile movie stars (including Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and more), each one of them has to be featured on the poster. Altho I’m not a big fan of period piece films, I have to admit that I am interesting in this film primarily for the Gosling factor. Despite my dislike for period pieces, I do appreciate the stylized look of the glamorous gangster era … which is featured in the poster you can see below. More »

There is no question that Lindsay Lohan‘s longtime attorney Shawn Holley is a very adept and very skilled lawyer. For many years now, Holley has (more or less) managed to keep Lindsay Lohan out of jail … well, as best she can. Yes, Lindsay has clocked some time behind bars but without a lawyer like Holley in her corner, she might likely still be cooling her heels in jail. It is because of Shawn Holley‘s successes with Lohan that she has been named by The Hollywood Reporter magazine as one of Hollywood’s Power Lawyers. Click below to see a couple of photos of Lohan and Holley photographed together for The Hollywood Reporter and learn who Holley believes would be her next dream client. More »
When last we saw photos of Blue Ivy, the only begotten child of Beyoncé and Jay-Z out and about in public here on the blog, she was covered up in Paris, France. In fact, every time that Blue Ivy has been taken out in public by her parents she has been hidden away under a blanket … until now. Beyoncé, who is rockin’ a head full of beautiful braids btw, stepped out with Blue Ivy for a shopping trip in NYC, NY today and lo and behold … she let Blue get some fresh air without being covered by a blanket. That’s right, we finally get to see her face! Click below to see the photos and get a good look at what Blue Ivy looks like these days. More »
Last night my friend Josh and I made our way to The Wiltern to see Frank Ocean live in concert. Because I am a new fan, I was really interested to see what Ocean‘s live performance would be like. I was very happy to learn that his beautiful music takes on a new life when performed live. The Wiltern was packed to the rafters with screaming fans, most who knew every single lyric to every single song he sung. The line to get into the venue was wrapped almost all the way around the very large block — it was the longest line I have ever seen at The Wiltern. I think it’s safe to say that every single person who packed into the theater was thoroughly entertained by Frank Ocean‘s live performance last night.
