‘The Artist’ Takes Home More Awards – This Time The Australian Academy

The Oscar nominations were announced last week, and the film creating all the buzz is The Artist, which nabbed 10 nominations. For the inaugural Best Picture award this year, there are 9 films competing — The Artist, The Descendants, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Help, Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life and War Horse. Today we learned of a lesser known, Australian award ceremony, that named The Artist the big winner…in the lead up to the Oscars all the various award ceremonies are important to think about, but of course don’t indicate what will happen come Oscar. Art In The Heart Of Detroit

Altho I’ve been feeling pretty crappy for the past few days I managed to get enough sleep yesterday so that I could rally and get out of the house to hang out with Sarah and Mark last night. To get the night started, we enjoyed a very delicious Cuban dinner at Vicente’s in downtown Detroit before we made our way to the YMCA (where I made a very exciting discovery) and then to City Club for a late night of dancing fun. Despite my stupid cold symptoms, I managed to have a really fantastic night out on the town. More »

Madonna Talks To The ‘LA Times’ About Her New Movie, Album & Her Super Bowl Show

The LA Times sat down with Madonna in her SoCal home just before the Golden Globes a couple of weekends ago to discuss her directorial debut film W.E., her new album M.D.N.A. and her upcoming LIVE performance for the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI.
