In May we learned that Aussie actor Grant Bowler won the role of Richard Burton opposite Lindsay Lohan‘s Elizabeth Taylor in the forthcoming Lifetime made for TV movie Liz & Dick. In June, we got our first look at Bowler as Burton in a promo pic from the film. Today we get to hear from the man himself about what he thinks of Lindsay. We all have our own opinions on the troubled young actress. Some folks love her, some hate her, some love to hate her and vice versa. But what does her co-star think of her? Click below and find out. Oh boy. Y’all know I love this girl. And I’ve been known to twitter-stalk her to fault. But why oh why oh why do we have to do this now?! Oprah, apparently, got Rihanna to ‘open up’ about her relationship with Chris Brown and that simply does not excite me at all! I know some people could just watch this girl cry all day over Breezy but I’d rather not. Peep the clip and click inside for more of me ish-talking this interview that I haven’t seen yet, lol.

Wow. Kelly Clarkson has truly outdone herself with this one … as you may know, Kelly likes to perform cover songs on tour that get sent to her by fans. Some of the songs have a connection with the city she happens to be performing in, some do not. Last night, at her concert stop in Detroit, MI, Kelly busted out a performance of Detroit native Eminem‘s Academy Award-winning song Lose Yourself that, man, you just HAVE to hear for yourselves! I’ve been impressed with Kelly‘s covers before but this one … yeah, she really impressed the HELL out of me with her ability to bust a rhyme. Much love and thanks goes out to my D-town homie David for sending in the video. Enjoy!!
Okay, so I’m watching the new trailer for Liberal Arts, a movie I was kinda sorta interested in when I see a familiar name flash across the screen: “Elizabeth Olsen Is Perfect,” — Michael Dunaway at Paste Magazine. OMG. My editor at Paste (where I contribute the occasional film review) is, totally famous now! Lol. Anyway, aside from my own personal connection to this trailer, it looks like a lot of fun. From what I’m seeing it’s all about the glorious impracticality of a liberal arts education and, of course, falling in lurve. Elizabeth Olsen (who is officially at the point where we don’t have to go into great detail about her older sisters, because she’s clearly awesome on her own merit) plays Zibby, the love interest of Josh Radnor (from How I Met Your Mother). And ever since I saw Elizabeth in Martha Marcy May Marlene I knew I’d watch all future films, without question. She is scary good, and I can’t wait to see her in this movie.
Any other Liz Olsen fans out there?!
Zac Efron and Richard Jenkins also star in Liberal Arts which hits theatres September 14.
Just when we thought this issue had been put to rest, Twitter got involved. Well, not Twitter, but I’m citing Twitter because I need something to blame for all this back-and-forth he-said-she-said confirmation/denial drama over the Aaliyah project. It seems like only yesterday (because it was yesterday) that we were getting the final say from Blackground Records, who confirmed that Missy Elliot and Timbaland would work on a posthumous Aaliyah album which would feature previously unreleased songs and new songs, some of which would include Drake (like the first single we heard). This news was comforting to some of us– mainly the part where Missy and Timb would be involved– but hours later, Missy Elliot was denying any knowledge of or involvement with the project. Deets inside.
Fashion icon, rock star, and mother of two, Gwen Stefani might be called a modern-day superwoman. Yesterday she was spotted out in LA looking pretty super (at least from the bottom), rocking these black gladiator-esque sandals that I’m kind of feeling. The No Doubt frontwoman (whose group just shared their new album cover art) had a grungy look going on; baggy jeans and a loose-fitting black tank completed the look as she hopped out of her Porsche and made her way to a friend’s house. Gwen also donned her standard red lipstick with black shades and had her platinum-blonde hair pulled back. I’ll tell ya right now, this is not a look I’d be able to pull off but Gwen has her own style, and it’s difficult to critique someone who does what she does with so much confidence. Not mad at the shirt, Gwen! Do you!
What do you guys think? Is Gwen pulling this look off or do you wanna give her a quickie make-over? Don’t touch the shoes though– they’re growin’ on me, lol.

Recently we learned that Kristen Stewart dropped out of her next film project, Cali, and everyone’s been talking about how she’s laying hella low following the cheating scandal with Rupert Sanders. So it was a big surprise to see these ‘new’ photographs of the young actress floating around from the September issue of Marie Claire. Kristen participated in a photoshoot with other actors, including her fellow cast members from On The Road. She was all smiles and looked very footloose and fancy free, but this was back during the month of May, in Cannes, France. Still, the pictures are pretty sweet. Checkie out inside!
Today we get our first look at Tom Cruise‘s 17 year-old son as Daryl Jenkins of the Red Dawn remake. Connor Cruise will play alongside Chris Hemsworth (Snow White And The Huntsman) and Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) in this action-packed film that chronicles the lives of Midwestern teenager defending their home turf from North Korean invaders. The trailer is definitely intense, but I’m thinking it helps that I’ve never seen the original. The 1984 version starred Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen and– from what I understand– the remake has much to live up to to. Connor appears midway through the trailer and it looks like he’s got a smaller role, but I, for one, am excited to see what he’s got. The story itself seems a little outdated (a North Korean invasion?), but if the acting is solid, the film could still turn out well.
The movie was filmed in 2009 but held up because of MGM’s financial issues. Nothing can hold it back now! Red Dawn hits theaters Nov. 21.
As the saying goes, only in New York! Jonah Hill and his girlfriend Alexandra Hoffman were out getting their romantic stroll on in NYC and as luck (?) would have it, they ran into a woman. A woman having a baby. In the park. Because it’s New York. And that’s how we, apparently, role. Don’t worry; the photo gallery is placenta-free, but Jonah totally snapped a picture of said placenta and TMZ caught him doing it here. You can also see Jonah talking on the phone excitedly, probably talking [to his Mom, see his twitter] about the whole crazy ordeal. More deets, and the most bizarre tweet, probably ever inside. I’m pretty sure nothing else I could find online today would top this; so please enjoy another installment of That-Ish-Cray Of The Day.
