Last month we learned that Mattel is releasing a set of Barbie dolls that have been styled by fashion/style guru Tim Gunn. Today we learn that Mattel has another, more fabulously styled Barbie ready for release as well. Mattel has teamed up with NYC design team The Blonds to create the first “drag” Barbie doll. As you can see in the photos below, The Blond Diamond Barbie doll is decked out in fine drag queen glory. Check out the photos and read the official doll description below. More »
Yesterday we learned that US Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte is planning to trademark the word Jeah so that he can profit from his favorite catchphrase. But today we learn that there is another person who is laying claim to the word and appears ready to fight for its control. Aaron Tyler, better known as MC Eiht, claims that he is the originator of the word Jeah and is planning to send a cease and desist letter to Lochte to force him to stop using his word. Uh Oh! Read on to see what MC Eiht has to say about this battle for the word Jeah. More »
Last night I met up with Darion, Loy, Sebastian and some of their friends for a night of theater, laughter and merriment in Hollywood and I am pleased to report that we enjoyed a very full night of the aforementioned. Darion suggested that we see a production titled Streep Tease, which is a show that features monologues from Meryl Streep films all performed by men. Obvs, I was very interested in seeing this brilliant show. Afterward, we made our way to St. Felix in Hollywood for some aftershow food and drink. Read on to hear what I think of Streep Tease. More »

So … for the past 6 months or so, ever since it was first reported that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got themselves engaged to be married, folks have been wondering when the happy couple would actually do the deed and get hitched. In February we heard that the couple might be planning a Summer wedding … and in April, the word going around was that the couple were thinking of marrying in Southern Italy. We may learn today that one of those two Justica wedding rumors might be true. A good friend shot me a message last night informing me that the wedding of Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel will happen today in Wyoming — the very place where they got engaged in late December. Could it be? Could today be the day that Justica get hitched? More »
As many of you know, Banksy is a street artist that has a certain anti-establishment attitude about himself and his work. Recently we saw what he and some other artists came up with in response to the London 2012 Olympics and the movement to destroy local street art in the name of the games. Well someone has come along and gotten a little tongue-in-cheek with the king of all artsy tongue-in-cheekiness. Brandsky takes well-known Banksy images and ‘brands’ them with their applicable corporate logos (Brand + Banksy = Brandsky). Now y’all know I have a pretty open sense of humor and I love a good parody, but this one kinda got to me! Maybe I’m a little less open when it comes to artwork, and an artist’s message, lol. But peep the photos in the gallery and tell me what you think. Is it amusing to see Banksy‘s graffitti messages get, well, graffittied?
Okay, there’s one that really is funny. It’s got the Venus logo. LMAO.

So, I’m a sucker for Dad movies. The Departed. The Wrestler. The Dark Knight Rises. Hell, most movies are Dad movies. And this new Paul Dano flick is definitely a Dad movie, of possibly epic proportions. Indie movie-lovers and fans of Little Miss Sunshine, Meek’s Cutoff, and There Will Be Blood should be quite pleased with another stand-out performance from Dano, based on what I’m seeing in this trailer for For Ellen. The movie seems to have few laughs, even with Jon Heder (AKA Napolean Dynamite) on board, but this may suit the storyline. Dano plays a rocker musician who never quite made it, though he sacrificed family life for that ever-irresistible but hypothetical fame. Peep the trailer and join me in the eternal attempt to work through those Daddy issues through cinematic portrayals of the wholly imperfect father.
For Ellen hits theatres September 5.
