Lindsay Lohan was spotted this week on the SoCal set of the Elizabeth Taylor made for TV movie Liz & Dick all decked out regalia fit for a queen … Queen Cleopatra, that is. As you may know, Taylor famously played Cleopatra in the 1963 film of the same name and, clearly, L. Lo will portray that part of Taylor‘s life in this Lifetime TV movie. Today we hear from Lindsay herself that filming has wrapped on Liz & Dick so click below to see one of the last photos we’ll see of Lohan on the film set. More »
Yesterday, CNN reporter and talk show host Anderson Cooper came out publicly as a gay man. In the wake of the outpouring of support that he received on Twitter, Anderson posted a short but sweet tweet in appreciation of all of the messages he received. It should come as no surprise that Cooper is off on assignment this week so he’s a bit bizzy to be tweeting up a storm but he did take the time to share a quick message with fans, which you can read in full below. Back in February we learned the exciting news that Harry Potter author JK Rowling is releasing a novel for adults this year and in April we learned that the novel has been titled The Casual Vacancy. Today we get our first look at the cover art for Rowling‘s first novel aimed at adults and as you can see below, the cover art is kind of meh. More »
One of my Hollywood faves, Emma Stone, will play alongside her true-life boyfriend Andrew Garfield in this summer’s much-anticipated film The Amazing Spider-Man (in theaters NOW!). And I use the phrase ‘much-anticipated’ broadly— because many of us anticipate epic fails in abundance while others are legitimately excited to see what Emma and Andrew (and the rest of the cast) make of the story. This role represents something very different for Emma. While we still expect to see a little Stone-sian snark in the character of Gwen Stacy we also know that she’ll be a bit more reserved and vulnerable. The bottom line is that she’ll be a blond damsel in distress, and that’s not something we’re used to seeing from Emma‘s strong, outspoken characters.
Victoria Beckham shared a really cute photo on her official Twitter profile over the weekend that I have to pass along with all y’all. Apparently she decided to take her children to a water park/aquarium here in SoCal and she posed for a photo with a very friendly dolphin. If you look *very closely* you can see a hint of a smile on Vicki B‘s usually emotionless face … which is clear proof that she was enjoying herself. Check it out. More »

Our dear Britney Spears has been bizzy over the past few weeks with her duties as judge on The X Factor. Just last week, she made her way to Rhode Island for another round of auditions. As I understand it, Britney is getting a bit of a reputation as a hard judge (tho, these reports are scattered and inconsistent, emanating from fans who hear bits and pieces of her judging style at these auditions) which, I have to say, seems very interesting to me. The assumption has been that Britney would be a push-over judge (a la Paula Abdul) so I’m charmed by the notion that she’s more of a hard ass. Nonetheless, softie or hard ass, Britney needs a bit of a vacay from all the hard work she’s been doing … so she bundled up her sons and her fiancée Jason Trawick and made her way to Maui, HI for a little holiday. James Franco has more jobs than a freelance writer. The actor/blogger/author/director/performance artist/grad student will soon add ‘Playboy columnist’ to his fairly impressive resumé. And I say ‘fairly’ because, I mean, it’s not like he’s doing everything. Just, like 99% of everything. And then some. Get deets on his new gig inside.
Back in May we got our first listen of the Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks duet Celebrate which is featured on the official soundtrack recording of Whitney‘s final film Sparkle. Today we get to check out the just-released music video for the single. Because Whitney passed away before the music video for the song could be filmed, the only footage of her in the video comes from the scenes she filmed for the movie last year … but as you can see, the video is nothing short of a celebration of Whitney Houston and her amazing talents. Check out the video in full below. More »
Based on what I just watched, I’m feeling a little bit uncomfortable. Compliance is a highly controversial film that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year, and I’m starting to get what the hoopla was all about. Watch the trailer with me, and perhaps we can figure out if this is a work of art, or just another film where a defenseless young woman gets the worst kind of treatment.
Naomi Watts has been cast as the late Princess Diana in an upcoming biopic film titled Caught In Flight and before now, I really never thought that Naomi resembled Diana enough for the role. Today, new photos of Naomi on set in character as Diana have been released and I find myself shocked at how much like Di she looks. Check out the photos below and see for yourself. Judging by these first photos, Naomi Watts has seemingly transformed herself into Diana, the People’s Princess. More »
