At the end of last month we learned that Adrienne Maloof, one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and her husband of about 10 years Paul Nassif were breaking up. It was reported that the couple were looking for ways to reconcile in the midst of their split but clearly attempts to patch things up have not been successful. Adrienne filed for divorce from Paul today and shortly thereafter, he filed his own divorce papers against her. It does not sound like this split is going to be very amicable :( More »

Yesterday was a successful if menial day for me. Not only did I mangage to get my laundry done (yay!) but I also finally finished my lastest re-read of the classic Jack Kerouac novel On The Road. Every few years, I like to dig out that book and give it another read because it remains one of my favorite books. With the forthcoming film adaptation on the way, I figured it was the perfect time to give the book another read thru. Upon completion of the book, and because I’m in a very Beat Generation mood these days, I started reading Jack Kerouac and Allen Gingsberg: The Letters … fascinating stuff! More »
Just when you thought FX has released all of the teaser clips for the forthcoming second season of American Horror Story: Asylum, they go and drop an EIGHTH teaser video on us. Yesterday we heard from Madonna herself as she explained/apologized to Australian fans for deciding NOT to tour in Oz on her current MDNA World Tour and today we are hearing from Madonna again. Maddy brings her tour to North America tonight but before she performs her first show in Pennsylvania, PA she wants to explain to fans why there is so much violence in her show. As you are painfully aware, the US has suffered greatly from gun violence this Summer alone and it sounds like Maddy is trying to get ahead of any controversy that might be generated by the violence in her show by offering this explanation ahead of time. Click below to read Madonna‘s message, “in her own words”, in full and see what she has to say to fans right before she takes the stage here in North America tonight. More »

NASA‘s Curiosity Rover has taken another step forward in space exploration with the broadcasting of the first human voice on planet Mars. The voice of NASA administrator Charlie Bolden was sent from Earth to Curiosity on Mars and that message was broadcast on the planet before it was sent back to Earth. It’s the first time an audio recording was sent from our planet to another planet for broadcast. We don’t know yet if anyone (anything?) heard it up there on Mars but at least they know what we sound like now. Later today, the Curiosity Rover will broadcast, in the same way, a will.i.am song titled Reach for the Stars — that song will become the first piece of music ever broadcast on another planet. Take a listen to the audio message above and hear what was broadcast on planet Mars earlier today.
Last week the world was blessed with photos of a fully nekkid Prince Harry partying with some ladies in Las Vegas, NV. Since those photos came out, poor Harry has gotten some heat from folks who were not impressed with his behavior. In a show of solidarity and support, a Facebook group called Support Prince Harry with a Naked Salute sprung up and asked military folks all around the world to submit photos of themselves in various states of undress. Click thru the gallery below and see some of the submissions. Keep in mind, the photos may be NSFW but they do show that military personnel are very proud to show support for their fellow armed forces comrades … in any way they can ;)
