I begin this list with a music-related confession of sorts: my first musical crush was on Billy Ray Cyrus, and it was a fiercely passionate one-sided love affair that no one (not even me) will ever fully understand. I was 5 and he– mainly the poster on my wall of him, shirtless– was my everything. Achey Breaky Heart (aka Don’t Tell My Heart) got me through some really difficult times in kindergarten, and I’m not kidding.
Blah. I don’t even know what to say other than … well, blah :( The San Francisco Chronicle has published a new interview with Morrissey (née Stephen Patrick Morrissey, formerly of The Smiths) wherein he reveals his retirement plans. As you may recall, I *just* saw Moz in concert here in California (for, like, the umpteenth time) and he not only sounded in excellent shape but he looked it, too. Apparently, Morrissey is feeling his age and he sees that the end is drawing near (er, the end of performing, not the end of living) and as a result, he is apparently now making plans to put an end to his musical career. Blah. More »

Yesterday we got to see a pretty impressive promo photo of Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler in costume as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in the upcoming Lifetime TV biopic Liz & Dick. Today we get to see another fairly impressive photo that features Lindsay in all her Liz Taylor glory. I must say, the photo we saw yesterday and the photo we see below really do bear a striking resemblance to the late Elizabeth Taylor. According to People magazine, people on the set of Liz & Dick “audibly gasped” when Lindsay presented herself in character. HMMM. Is this just a matter of PR spin or does Lindsay really have the Liz-look down? Click below and see for yourselves. More »
Yesterday we learned that actor Jerry O’Connell won the role of Herman Munster in the planned reboot series Mockingbird Lane (which is a modern update of the classic 60′s TV series The Munsters). Today we learn that former True Blood actress Mariana Klaveno has been cast in the lead female role of Lily Munster IF she can be let out of a previous contract to play another role in another series on another network. HMMMM. While Herman Munster is a Frankenstein-like character, Lily Munster is a vampire-like character … which should be a breeze for someone like Klaveno to play … erm, that is, if she is able to take the role. Um, did you know that Taylor Swift and John Mayer enjoyed a bit of a romantic tryst a couple of years ago? Yeah, me neither … BUT, because Taylor has made a career out of penning songs about her failed relationships, we now know that Taylor and John hooked up (or whatever) before her 2010 album Speak Now was released. Now, you might think that it was Taylor that started blabbing about the failed romance but you’d be wrong … it was actually John who brought this affair into the public eye. You see, John is really upset — humiliated, even — by a song that Taylor wrote about the couple’s failed dalliance. Click below to read what he has to

For everyone who’s been waiting for this moment since Season One, it’s finally here. And today is your day to celebrate. Go ahead. Do the slow clap…… Ok. Now according to In Touch Weekly here’s how it went down on the Shore: when Snooki, Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly, Vinny, Jenny, Mike, and Denna arrived in Seaside Heights to start filming, they also arrived to alarming news. An executive producer told the cast that they were there to film their final season, and they’d better “bring their A game.”
Last night, after I flew in from Detroit, I met up with my homies Ollie and Josh at the El Rey Theatre to see Lana Del Rey in concert. As you may know, LDR played a 3 night residency at the El Rey here in LA and last night’s show was the finale. On Monday we got to see video of Lana performing a new song titled Body Electric and, unsurprisingly, she performed the same song last night. In fact, she performed the exact same setlist … and I understand mimicked her uncomfortable between song banter from all 3 nights. I was worried that seeing LDR‘s third show might be less interesting than seeing her first two shows but it sounds like all three shows were exactly the same. More »

Last weekend we learned that actress Drew Barrymore married fiancée art dealer Will Kopelman here in SoCal and today we get to see the blushing bride in her beautiful Chanel wedding dress. As you may recall, altho photos were taken at Drew‘s wedding over the weekend, no one managed to get a really clear shot of the bride and groom. Today we get to see the newlywedded Mr. & Mrs. on the cover of the new issue of People magazine. More »
