Last month we got our first look at the perfume bottle for Nicki Minaj‘s debut fragrance called Pink Friday. As you may recall, the bottle looked a bit scary and a bunch freaky. Today we get to check out another look at the bottle that is less terrifying, I think. Click below for a better look at the unique Pink Friday bottle and learn more about the inspiration for the smell. More »
Indiewire appropriately referenced the above video as a ‘trailer for a trailer’ and ‘a teaser for a teaser.’ This is absolutely not the trailer for Steven Spielberg‘s new Abraham Lincoln biopic, Lincoln. It is, rather, the invitation for you to watch the trailer (lmao, unreal!) later this week and then– okay here’s the awesome part– ‘hangout’ with the one they call JGL and Spielberg. I don’t know what Google Hangout is, but on September 13 at at 7pm EST, I’m gonna find out, lol. First of all, I legitimately do want to see this trailer! Daniel Day-Lewis might really bring it as Honest Abe and the rest of the cast is pretty cray. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, David Oyelowo (who’s the one reading The Gettsyburg Address in the mini-clip), John Hawkes and Sally Field round out the rest of the cast which means we can probably expect good things. I hear Spielberg‘s a decent director too ;)
Last week we learned that Prince Harry was re-deployed to Afghanistan where he will serve in the British military as a trained helicopter pilot. Today we get to see new photos of Harry on duty in Afghanistan and we learn that he is now a prime target of a Taliban attack. According to reports, now that the Taliban knows that Harry is in Afghanistan, they are hoping to either kill or kidnap him. Yikes! Click below to check out the new photos of Harry on duty and read more about the rumored plans that might put the young prince in harm’s way. More »
Today is clearly the day of Marie Claire covers. Miranda Kerr‘s cover story for Marie Claire Australia was released, along with Blake Lively/Mrs. Ryan Reynolds‘s gorgeous photo spread for British Marie Claire. Now we get a peep at the October cover girl for Marie Claire of the good ‘ol USA– No Doubt‘s Gwen Stefani. Gwen‘s cover story, appropriately titled Rock ‘n’ Rule, gives us an inside look at the glam rocker we all know and lurve. Apparently, she refused to wear fur or anything see-through for the shoot, lol. Gotta love it. Check out the pics in the gallery and excerpts from the interview inside!
The much-anticipated second season of the Showtime series Homeland won’t debut on TV until the end of this month but right here, right now you can watch the first 20 minutes of the season 2 debut episode! As you may recall, Showtime previously released the first 2 minutes of the forthcoming 7th season of Dexter (much to the delight of fans) but this time they outdo themselves by giving us an early look at HALF of the entire first new episode of season 2. Check out the video above and get your first taste of Homeland season 2.

Last week we learned the happy news that the very accident prone Amanda Bynes had her driver’s license suspended by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. At the time, I felt that the DMV was worthy of our respect and admiration. Today we learn that Amanda was pulled over by police in SoCal last night while she was, apparently, driving with a suspended license. For some reason, the officer on the scene did NOT arrest Amanda for her crime … he only spoke with her and sent her on her way. Either the police officer didn’t run her license to learn that she had a suspended license or he didn’t care. In either case, it could be argued, he let a dangerous repeat offender back on the streets to potentially terrorize again. Insane! More »

Earlier today we saw pics of Rihanna and Jay-Z leaving The Art Club in London, following performances at the London Paralympics. Now we get a look at the two stars closing out the games with Coldplay. The performance is cool and fun (although, not especially riveting), but I’ve really been enjoying reading about the games. HuffPost published an article wrapping up the whole event beautifully, and you can also watch the entire closing ceremony (which some are saying was better than the closing ceremony of the Olympics), here on the London Paralympics YouTube page. The actual events are also on YouTube, and they’re amazing. Click the above video to see Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Coldplay Run This Town tonight.

After far too many months of not getting our schedules together, I was able to hang out with Tracey and my goddaughter Zakiya yesterday evening. After the long drive from Holland back to the Detroit Metro area yesterday, I got to spend time with Tracey and Zakiya for a bit before meeting up with my folks. After that, Sarah, Mark and I drove out to the neighborhood where Sarah and I lived back in the day to hang out at one of our old haunts … the very bar that Jack Kerouac used to hang out at when he lived in the Detroit area about 60 years ago. The day was long but really very fun. More »
