Lindsay Lohan SCRAMS With Gerard Butler Then Hits The Town

Lindsay Lohan spent part of her Saturday yesterday chillin’ with her little sister Aliana Ali Lohan at a private pool party in the Hollywood Hills. Miss Lindsay was lookin’ glum and totally uninterested in anything … until actor Gerard Butler showed up to the shindig and give her some love:

Yeah, I can see how a hug from Gerry might brighten up one’s day considerably. Once Gerard arrived at the party, things really got going and Lindsay‘s demeanor got a whole lot happier. When the party started to wind down, Lindsay decided to bolt and make her way home to change and hit the town. After the jump, check out some photos of L. Lo out and about last night … More »

Queen Elizabeth II Celebrates Her 84th Birthday

Birthday lurve goes out to Queen Elizabeth II this weekend as she celebrated her 84th birthday yesterday at the lavish annual Trooping of the Colour parade in London, England. The Queen was surrounded by her loyal subjects and, more intimately, her Royal family to enjoy the festivities in honor of her 84th … here are a few photos:

The Queen has marked her 84th official birthday at the Trooping the Colour parade in central London. More than 1,400 soldiers took part in the annual display of military pomp and pageantry on London’s Horse Guards Parade. She was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, her grandson Prince William and other members of the royal family. The 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards were parading their flag colour this year. Many of the battalion’s soldiers returned from Afghanistan two months ago. After the Queen took the salute on Horse Guards, the royal family headed back to Buckingham Palace where they watched a 30-aircraft strong RAF flypast.

Royal salutes had also been simultaneously fired at Edinburgh and Stirling castles. The flypast was led by The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight – one of the events staged to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the battle. A Hurricane and Spitfire were the first aircraft to fly over the members of the Royal Family as they gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony. They were followed by Typhoons, Tornadoes, a Nimrod R1 and the Red Arrows – the RAF’s aerobatic display team … The parade was commanded by Commanding Officer Lt Col Roly Walker while the Colour was escorted by a guard from Queen’s Company. Second Lt James Brown was the Ensign tasked with carrying the Colour. Soldiers wearing the uniforms of the Household Cavalry, Royal Horse Artillery and the Foot Guards were joined by more than 200 horses at the event. Four hundred musicians from 10 bands and corps of drums also took part, with drum horse Spartacus, of The Blues and Royals, appearing for the 12th time. The Queen’s actual birthday was on 21 April. The tradition of two birthdays dates back to the time when, if monarchs were born in winter, the weather was deemed unsuitable for outdoor events. Traditionally before battle, colours – or flags – were carried, or “trooped”, along the rank of soldiers so they could be seen and recognised. In 1748, it was decided the trooping would also be used to honour the sovereign’s birthday. The Queen first took the royal salute in 1951 when she deputised for her father King George VI when he was sick. She has attended every ceremony bar one in 1955 when there was a national rail strike.

We yanks on this side of the pond don’t usually get to see this sort of pomp and circumstance on such a huge scale so I, for one, look forward to the annual event that celebrates the Queen’s birthday. I’m always amazed at how youthful and lively she looks year after year … I’m of the mind that Queen Elizabeth will rule the United Kingdom for a very long time to come. Here’s to many Happy Birthdays and many happy returns!

The A+ Team

Last night David and I got together with our friends Darion, Devin, Jordan, Josh R. and Josh Z. to see The A-Team at the ArcLight Theater in Hollywood, CA — and we had a total blast! After some worry, I am very happy to say that I loved every single second of the new A-Team remake movie:

As you might expect, the film is chock full of over-the-top ridiculousness but it is wholly and entirely fun … I couldn’t get enough. The casting is perfect and the acting is, well, not important. If you are looking for a superfun action film, The A-Team is the movie for you. The crazy action gets underway immediately and it rarely lets up enough for you to catch your breath. The special effects are pretty good and Jessica Biel doesn’t ruin the movie nearly enough to make it unentertaining ;) The only thing I was surprised by was how little the iconic A-Team van is featured in the flick. To be honest, the drawbacks are so inconsequential that they aren’t even worth mentioning. I loved this movie so much … I can’t wait to see it again and again.

I had so much fun with my friends last night that I’ve decided to start my own special forces unit … called The gAy Team:

Clearly, Darion is (gives good) Face, I am Mr. T(rent), Josh Z. is Token (cuz he’s the lone straight dude in The gAy Team) and the other guys are various other witty names that I can’t really come up with right now. After the movie, we all went out for drinks and revelry afterward … it was a really fun night.

Tonight I’m planning to hang out with Josh R. and his friend Essly for some Sex and the City 2 fun … I hear we may run into Joan Rivers … or something. Stay tuned, I may have fun stories to share tomorrow.

Go see The A-Team, I promise … it’s a good time … and Bradley Cooper is shirtless on more than one occasion :D

Madonna’s Kiddies Get Their Kabbalah On

Madonna‘s little chick-a-dees Lourdes Maria, Rocco John, David Banda and Chifundo Mercy were spotted making their grand entrance into the Kabbalah Centre in London, England last night lookin’ ready to get their church on. All of the children were dressed in sparkling white outfits, save for one …

Now either Lola is far too cool to dress for the occasion or she has grown too old to wear the required dress of the youngest Kabbalah worshippers. Whatever the case may be, she looks infinitely cooler than her little sibs … tho, they look way cuter. It’s just crazy insane how big all of the kids have grown … OY!

Jude Law, Sienna Miller & Kids Make Their Way To France

When last we saw photos of confirmed lovebirds Jude Law and Sienna Miller they were suckin’ face like nobody’s biz out on the public streets of NYC … but today we learn that the couple have made their way to Paris, France with a couple of Jude‘s kiddies in tow. Here are photos of JuSie herding Jude‘s children Iris and Rudy thru Gare du Nord Station on their way to Montparnasse Station this week:

We got to see JuSie with some of Jude‘s kids down in St. Bart’s back in December so it’s nice to see them all together again this week in France. You know things are seriously serious when a couple spend time chillin’ with the kids. I wonder how long ’til we hear that Jude and Sienna are gettin’ hitched? HMMMM.

Tori Amos Plays The 2010 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival

Tori Amos performed her only scheduled US concert date this year last night at the 2010 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN and if you were not able to attend last night’s performance in person, I’ve got some amazing news for you. National Public Radio recorded and broadcast her entire 1 1/2 hour concert set online last night … and YOU can listen to it in full today. But before we get to that, here are a few photos of Tori wearing her “Sunday best” during her amazing performance last night:

Tori Amos found her voice in the early ’90s, when she stripped away everything phony about the music of the time: Her solo debut, Little Earthquakes, was nothing but haunting pianos, a singular voice and lots of raw nerves. She’s expanded her sound since then — experimenting with new personae, dabbling in electronics, and so on — but she’s maintained her place as a unique and uncompromising performer. Amos’ most recent album (not counting a holiday release, which followed a few months later) is titled Abnormally Attracted to Sin. Hear her perform a full concert from the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn

I was not able to listen to the live stream of Tori‘s performance last night but thankfully, NPR archived and has made her entire Bonnaroo performance available for listening online!! I’ve been listening to her entire show all morning and really, really wish I could’ve been there last night to see her in person. It was just Tori Amos and her piano … as it should always be. After the jump, check out Tori‘s Bonnaroo setlist and listen to her entire concert performance in full … More »
