A whole universe of WTF
*Deep breath* Okay. I almost want to take back every single thing I wrote in that piece that was sort of in defense of Stephen A. Smith‘s comments about domestic violence. I almost want to say—nevermind, I was kidding. Or, more to the point, I was wrong. But it’s hard to admit when you’re wrong, so I’ll just say that seeing this footage makes me want to have an entirely different conversation. People. WHAT are we doing? Why am I looking at a video of a man knocking out his wife and dragging (and kicking—because at the 0:57 mark, he actually KICKS HER UNCONSCIOUS BODY) his wife out of an elevator. Before we even get to the incredible, effed up-ness of it all, I also have to say that there’s a part of me that doesn’t want to post this. If it was me, and I was in an abusive relationship, I would not want video evidence of my abuse on the internet. People are making GIFs in an attempt to show the severity of the attack, but I really feel for Janay Palmer. She’s married to him now, and I feel like I just don’t know what to say… other than that, we all need to do better as parents? Like, somewhere, somebody’s parents f—ed up, and now we have this video as a result. I also want to stress that what we are looking at may feel shocking, but IT IS NOT UNCOMMON. It is, instead, quite common. So, like I said, we need to do better. Click inside for more.

"The new #ZARA T-Shirt is somewhat #Holocaust ish in its design"
Ugh. Spanish clothier Zara really stepped into a pile of mess last week when they unveiled a t-shirt for sale that read White is the new Black. Today we learn that they followed up with that horrible faux pas with something, IMHO, way worse. Zara listed for sale a pajama top meant for babies that looked horrifyingly similar to the striped pajamas that Jews were forced to wear in German concentration camps in the 1940s. The striped pajamas emblazoned with a yellow Star of David is an image that anyone with any passing knowledge of the atrocities of the Jewish holocaust would well recognize … except for the folks at Zara. Click below to see a side-by-side comparison of the almost-matching pajamas and read what Zara had to say in apology. More »

But was it really an accident...?
Listen, Trent is right. There’s really only one thing you need to see from last night’s MTV VMAs, and that’s Beyoncé and Blue Ivy performing… mainly Blue Ivy. But everyone is going to be talking about Nicki Minaj‘s massive wardrobe malfunction and I want you to be informed. So, I’m sitting there watching the show, and after performing Anaconda, Nicki comes back out to finish up Bang Bang with Ariana Grande and Jessie J. The entire time she’s clasping her dress and looking crazy — I actually thought she was planning some sort of big reveal and we were all about to see EVERYTHING (ya never know with the VMAs). But yeah, not so much. Click inside for more! UPDATE: Is it possible that the “wardrobe malfunction” was completely STAGED?!
That Ish Cray Of-The-Day
Oh. Helllll. Nawwwllll. Why is that every time a wild animal does something that is completely normal for a wild animal, everyone’s all like, “I can’t believe that wild animal did something wild!” OMG. So. We now know that Nicki Minaj was planning to perform her hit song/video Anaconda at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, but rehearsals haven’t been going so smoothly. And by ‘haven’t been going so smoothly’ I mean that one of her backup dancers straight up got bitten by a 6-foot-long boa constrictor. I repeat: Oh. Hell. Nawl. Click inside for more.

This is sick.
Look, I don’t even have pets but this video made my stomach hurt. I try to stay away from Teen Mom 2 and all its derivates because nothing good ever seems to come of me watching this show, but someone pointed me in the direction of this video, and I caved. On a recent episode of Teen Mom 2, a pregnant Jenelle Evans lost her temper with her husband’s dogs. What she did with them was incredibly difficult to watch. Click inside for more.

Welp, I guess it was only a matter of time. Mariah Carey and her BFF collaborator Jermaine Dupri have decided to end their artist/manager relationship. Basically, she fired him because his work as executive producer of her new album I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse was a huge failure. Despite the fact that Dupri talked up the album as much as possible in the press, the album has sold poorly since its release in May and has fallen completely off the Billboard magazine Top 200 album chart. Jermaine says that he and Mimi will work together again in the future, which is very possible. Mimi, for her part, has already set her sights on a new managerial team moving forward. More »
Over the weekend, Beyoncé and Jay Z thrilled the folks here in Southern California with a pair of concert performances at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Many people, me included, had the best time ever at these shows. BUT … not everyone had a good time … the LA Times is reporting that an altercation broke out between 3 people during Saturday night’s concert which resulted in one man biting off the tip of another man’s finger. I mean, the tip counts. Read on for deets about this bizarre story. More »
