Santa Fe mayor David Coss is urging the city council to begin issuing marriage licenses for any same-sex couple who wants to marry in the State of New Mexico because he maintains that same-sex marriage is NOT illegal in the state. Apparently, New Mexico never got around to making same-sex marriage illegal and does not legally define marriage between a man and a woman … therefore, there is NO REASON that same-sex couples cannot get married in the state. OK … now this is pretty damn awesome. Sir Patrick Stewart, the actor famous for playing iconic TV and film characters like Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Professor Xavier in the X-Men films, is getting married … and he asked none other than his BFF and co-star Sir Ian McKellan (Magneto, also in the X-Men films) to officiate at the wedding. According to reports, McKellen has officiated other weddings before but I believe Stewart‘s nuptials will be his most high profile. The ‘Veronica Mars’ Movie Kickstarter Project Reaches Its Fundraising Goal

Welp, I knew it … I knew it was just a matter of time … the Veronica Mars Movie Kickstarter project reached its fundraising goal after only 10 hours … which means that the Veronica Mars movie will go into production! As you may recall, we learned yesterday that Veronica creator Rob Thomas and lead star Kristen Bell teamed up, with a blessing from Warner Bros. Studios, to launch a Kickstarter project to raise $2 million dollars to get the film project off the ground. I absolutely knew that the fundraising goal would be reached within the 30 day timeframe … but it took only 10 hours for the full $2 million to be raised. The people have spoken (and donated) and they want a Veronica Mars movie! More »

Kristen Bell Wants YOUR Help To Get A ‘Veronica Mars’ Movie Made [UPDATE]

Hey Veronica Mars fans … remember that movie that we’ve been hearing about for years but never seems to get made? Well, Veronica star Kristen Bell and show creator Rob Thomas have teamed up to take matters into their own hands in the hopes of getting the movie made. According to Bell and Thomas, Warner Bros. (the studio that owns the rights to the show) says that the ONLY way a Veronica Mars movie will get made is if the pair can raise enough money to prove fan interest … therefore, they’ve launched the Veronica Mars Movie Kickstarter project in the hopes that fans will rally together and raise the $2 million dollars required to get the film made. I’m assuming that the movie will require more than $2 million to get made but it sounds like WB says if $2 mil. is raised, they’ll move forward with production of the film. At this point, more than $600,000 has been raised so … this has a real shot of working out. Remember back in November when we learned the HORRIBLE news that Hostess snack foods was going out of business and would no longer be producing delicious dessert treats like Twinkies anymore? Well, I’ve got some good news for ya. A joint bid by two companies successfully won the right to produce Twinkies and other Hostess snack foods for sale again … which means that “America’s favorite snacks” might be back on store shelves by the Summer! Although this week’s episode is still patiently waiting for me to watch it on my DVR, I’ve been pretty committed to keeping up with BET‘s Real Husbands Of Hollywood. Earlier this year the show premiered and, even though I really liked the idea behind it and the execution, I worried that not enough people were watching. George Lucas CONFIRMS That The ‘Stars Wars’ Trio Will Appear In ‘Episode VII’

Over the past few weeks we’ve been hearing somewhat conflicting reports about the upcoming sequel film Star Wars: Episode VII. First we heard that Harrison Ford would probably be reprising his role as Han Solo in the film. Then we heard that Mark Hamill was in talks to reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in the film. Then Carrie Fisher revealed that she would be coming back as Princess Leia … and then a day later her PR person clarified that she was “just kidding” and no deal has been signed yet. Today we hear from George Lucas himself and he says, in no uncertain terms, that the Star Wars trio WILL appear in Episode VII … even tho the folks at Disney won’t confirm, he promises it’s going to happen. Back in January we learned that Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of our dear Britney Spears, might be getting engaged to her longtime boyfriend Jamie Watson (yes, Jamie Lynn and Jamie) and today we learn that the couple finally went and made it official. Jamie Lynn posted a couple photos on her official Instagram profile last night announcing to the world that she and Jamie are engaged to be married!
