The Flaming Lips Make Soft Porn Of Erykah Badu

Badu Is Flaming Mad

Erykah Badu is a brilliant, amazing talent who makes the occasional nude appearance on video. But all for the sake of art. The Flaming Lips recently collabo’d with her on a track for their new record, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and Erykah had no qualms about appearing nude (along with her sister, also nude) in the single’s video. But she took to twitter in a rage the other day when she saw the final cut of the video, which she described as “soft porn.” She felt exploited and disrespected. Almost as if someone had videotaped her… with her clothes off… ?

Watch: Kanye West Releases A Music Video For ‘Mercy’

Yo Chick She So Thirsty

It’s here! Kanye, Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2Chainz have debuted the video for their song Mercy, previously titled Lamborghini, Murci. Veteran director Nabil put in work on this one; he’s the director responsible for Kanye & Rihanna‘s Paranoid video, as well as Frank Ocean‘s Novacane. The all black and white video is visually striking, and– with little action really going down– the thrill of it may lie in the small details.

Yes. OMG. Cronenberg. Thank you.

If you’re in Canada I am crazy jealous of you because you can go to theaters TOMORROW, June 8 to see one of my favorite director’s new films. For those of us who just had to live in America, we’ll be waiting until August 17th for our chance to see David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis. I know we’ve got some Canadian readers and I’m seriously considering hitting up some of ya’ll for an overnight crash pad so I can see Cosmopolis this weekend. Hit me up in the comments if you have a spare air mattress.

Starring Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L.Jackson and Christoph Waltz, it tells the story of the titular Django (the “D” is silent), who is a freed slave that discovers his wife has been captured by a slave owner. Watch: ‘Glee’ Season 4 Promo Is Unveiled

Who Stays? Goes? Wedding? Baby?

We have lost our weekly fix of Glee-liciousness now that season 3 is over but we only have to wait the summer until it returns with season 4. “Graduation’s over, but there’s so much more in store!” When the season ended we left some of our favorite characters struggling to come to terms with the fact that they hadn’t landed a place at the university of their choice, while others did get accepted into their dream schools. Who stays? Who goes? Where’s the wedding? The baby? So many things to wait around for. Check out Glee’s promo for season 4 to whet your appetite. It looks like those questions will be answered when the 4th season arrives back, but for now we might have to be satisfied with some unanswered questions. More »

The Official PITNB Summer Music Guide

APPLE, A$AP, ALANIS (and Bieber)

I begin this list with a music-related confession of sorts: my first musical crush was on Billy Ray Cyrus, and it was a fiercely passionate one-sided love affair that no one (not even me) will ever fully understand. I was 5 and he– mainly the poster on my wall of him, shirtless– was my everything. Achey Breaky Heart (aka Don’t Tell My Heart) got me through some really difficult times in kindergarten, and I’m not kidding.
