Still The Best Cast Ever
A little while back we got to see an awesome new trailer for The Details. As I stressed before, this movie very well may have one of the coolest casts ever, with Kerry Washington, Elizabeth Banks, Tobey Maguire, Laura Linney, and Ray Liotta on board. The Details is a dark indie comedy, rife with infidelity and… raccoons (apparently), lol, and they’ve just released a new clip. I’m still crazy excited to see this one! Check out the clip and click inside for a few stills and posters from the movie, along with the first trailer, in case you missed it.
Lyrical Content Is A Good Thing, Nicki
Right in time for her E! reality special (the first part of which aired last night) Nicki Minaj is releasing new music. Freedom (which we saw her recording in that preview of her show) will be one of the new songs featured on Nicki‘s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up and I’ve been listening to it since last night, trying to decide if I like it or not. I do like that it’s a rap song; I do like the braggadocio. And I like that the lyrics (which you can check out over at DirectLyrics) have some actual substance, even if I don’t love every line. I guess what I’m trying to say is that… I do like this song, lol! I don’t love it, but I do like it. And I’m gonna sit here and come to terms with that while y’all take a listen. What do you think? Could you get used to this Nicki Minaj? I love when she decides to be a rapper! Agh!!!

Directed By Kid CuDi
Back in August we heard a new track from Cleveland/NYC rapper KiD CuDi and I was pretty pumped. Strangely enough, I was actually just listening to Just What I Am (which features rapper King Chip) the other day– and asking myself why I hadn’t been listening to it more– and then I heard that he’s getting ready to debut the video on Monday. I’m definitely excited to see what the Kid comes up with; he’s crazy talented and I love, love, love this song! Click inside to check out a few stills from the video and to relive the magic of this track.
A little while back we found out that Emmy-award winning comedian Louis C.K. would be hosting Saturday Night Live and I was ridiculously excited to see how cray-cray things would get. But nothing could have prepared me for his opening monologue about old ladies he lurves, or the Abraham Lincoln sketch to end all Abraham Lincoln sketches. All this time I’ve been getting excited to see Daniel Day-Lewis in the upcoming biopic, but now I just wanna spend the rest of my life watching Louis C.K. perform all of his stand-up routines as the 16th president. Click the video above to see what I mean, and check out more videos from last night’s episode– including the best opening monologue ever, Fun‘s awesome performance of Some Nights, and the hilarious Hurricane Sandy address from Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Chris Christie.
'I Think That Mariah... Met Her Match This Time'
Uh-oh. Yesterday we got our first look at Nicki Minaj: My Truth, the three part special set to air on E! tonight. I didn’t think the original trailer showed anything reeeeallly interesting, but this preview kinda makes me want to tune in. I could really care less about the Nicki/Mariah beef, but I know a lot of people will watch for that… and Nicki says some ish in this new preview that will surely send Mariah fans through the roof. But the behind-the-scenes stuff kinda fascinates me and in the preview we also get to see her recording new material, like Freedom a song she just released on iTunes last night. Nicki totally comes off like a diva (and she is one), but sometimes when I see her, I just see that sweet little girl from Queens, lol. So yeah, I’m probably gonna check this out.
Nicki Minaj: My Truth airs tonight at 10:30 pm EST on E!
"I am a blank page / Waiting for you to bring me to life"
We are stil a little over a week away from the release of Christina Aguilera‘s new album Lotus but she wants us to give a listen to one of the tracks on the forthcoming release. Xtina has released the audio of her song Blank Page which is a slow, soaring ballad. Altho I don’t really care for pop ballads, I really don’t mind this song. As you can hear above, Xtina doesn’t over sing the song which is nice. The lyrics, I have to say, aren’t my fave lyrics ever but … the song is sweet. Xtina may overdo it a bit from time to time when she usually manages to get her ballads right. Check out the video above and give the song a listen. What do you think?
Meet This Week's Hot-Person-Who-I-Didn't-Know-I-Was-Into-Until-Recently!
Do y’all remember when we watched the new trailer for 28 Hotel Rooms a couple of weeks back? And I was all like, ‘I think Chris Messina is hot but I’m not 100% sure…’ Well PITNBRS Sam, Ria, KiTX, Fifi4life, Tori, Kelly, Jessica, and Neicy all responded in the affirmative, each with their own unique experience in his hotness. Some people find him hot on The Mindy Project or The Newsroom, while others remember realizing how hot he was in shows like Six Feet Under and Damages. I also learned that he was in the movie Ira & Abby, which I can’t wait to watch. But FIRST I’m watching that new flick (28 Hotel Rooms), which is currently downloading itself into my life from the iTunes Store. While I’m waiting, I figured we could celebrate the hotness (and, okay, talentedness) that is Chris Messina. Everyone, meet this week’s Hot-Person-Who-I-Didn’t-Know-I-Was-Into-Until-Recently! And yes, I know we haven’t had a hot person since Christina Hendricks last month, but once I fell in lurve with her I got lost in a Netflix/Mad Men vortex, and was all distracted but I’m fine now. On to Chris!

That-Ish-Cray Of The Day
So ABC News recently covered two very extreme plastic surgery stories… and I cannot believe what I just watched. But then again… I kinda can. The world has changed and plastic surgery just isn’t a big deal anymore. Those who can afford it (and those who can’t) are getting nipped and tucked left and right. Hell, even Angela Lansbury‘s had work and she’s encouraged others to do the same. I remember reading a story a while back about a 14 year-old girl whose mother was urging her to get breast implants (the girl didn’t want ‘em) so yeah. It’s totally the new normal and in the above video you’ll meet a young man known as the ‘human Ken Doll‘ and a woman with the SEVENTH LARGEST breasts in the world. Both have extreme stories of plastic surgeries and both of them can’t wait to have more work done. Peep the video above and join me inside as I try to wrap my brain around what just happened.
The Band Has PULLED the Video for being Insensitive to Native Americans
In late September, just before the release of their new album Push and Shove, No Doubt gave us our first listen of their new song Looking Hot. Today we get to see the official music video for the track and as you can see above … it’s an interesting video. The vid was directed by Melina Matsoukas, the woman who directed Rihanna‘s award-winning video for We Found Love. The video was shot over two days last month on the Valuzat Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita, CA. All of that sounds well and good but, I’m not sure I really care for the video treatment. As you can see, the video is Cowboys vs. Indians themed … which sounds innocent enough but I always bristle at the image of Native Americans treated as costumed characters. In Native American culture, feathered headdresses and brightly colored clothing are sacred things … when they are used as “fun costumes to wear” at parties, etc. I, personally, feel the sacredness is cheapened. What do y’all think of this video? Do you dig it? I still love the song but the vid, I’m not so sure :/ UPDATE: No Doubt have pulled the music video and have issued a statement regarding the insensitivity to Native Americans. A little while back we got to see the debut video for Girl On Fire off Alicia Keys‘s forthcoming album of the same name. Although I couldn’t get over how amazing AK looked, I wasn’t a big fan of the video; the concept was cool but it was delivered in a strange way. Anyway, the new video has a lot of the same footage from the first, but Nicki Minaj gets featured, as she has a couple of short verses on Girl On Fire (Inferno Remix). Nicki‘s first verse is cool but the second one at the end of the song… total ‘meh.’ However, I did notice that they took out all the ridiculous product placement from the first video (BVLGARI and SONY– as PITNBR Colleen pointed out– got major, unnecessary shouts-out). Peep the video for more! Anybody liking this version better?
Girl On Fire, the fifth studio album for Alicia Keys, drops November 27th.
