Pitch Perfect Interview, Taryn!
As you all know, we’ve been following the upcoming movie Pitch Perfect very closely. We first saw the hilarious trailer a while back, and we’ve been cracking up at every new Pitch Perfect promo since then. Right now, I am cah-raaazy jealous of our girl Taryn Ryder who was actually in the presence of the one they call Elizabeth Banks. Taryn caught up with Elizabeth at a Pitch Perfect screening and got some exclusive deets on the early beginnings of Pitch Perfect (it was actually a book first) and the brilliant cast– including my girl Rebel Wilson. Checkie out!
But Is A Romantical Collab Popping Off?!
Sooooo, apparently. Rihanna. Was Fuh-lirting with MY A$AP Rocky at Coachella. There’s not a lot to say about that other than um… Oh hellllll naw. Okay, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, here’s an official remix to Cockiness (off her album Talk That Talk) that popped off between the two of them later. Or whatever. Great song. Dirty words (just ask the guys over at DirectLyrics). Badgalriri and Harlem’s own pretty mf. I’m seriously loving this track but… she better back off. No seriously. Seriously.
In fact, I’m putting up a some pics of A$AP inside (sans Rihanna), so y’all can feel me on this one.
One Clip is REALLY Good, The Other Is Not
It’s been a few days since we’ve seen a creepy preview teaser video for the forthcoming second season of American Horror Story: Asylum but today I’ve got a couple of new ones to share with you. While the video featured above, titled Save Us, is pretty good I have to admit that the second video featured below, titled Stitches, is less good. Watch them both and see what you think. More »
"Every time they turn the lights down"
Yesterday we got to see a batch of promo images from the forthcoming episode of Glee titled Britney 2.0 which is, as you know, the show’s second tribute episode to the music of Britney Spears. Today, we get to hear two songs from the episode!!! The video above features the Glee cast version of Britney‘s monster hit Gimme More. It’s a straightforward cover which sounds to me like it is sung by Naya Rivera (the actress who plays Santana) but it could be Heather Morris (who plays Brittany S. Pierce). If you click below, you will hear the Glee cast version of Britney‘s song Boys which is mashed-up with Justin Bieber‘s song Boyfriend. More »
Probably The Best Trailer Ever
We’ve watched Sean Penn transform himself for many roles over the years (Milk, and I Am Sam, for example), but I’m pretty sure we’ve never seen him like this. I thought I was excited to see him get G’d up in Gangster Squad (alongside Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone), but the new trailer for This Must Be The Place has me so ridiculously pumped! Penn plays Cheyenne, a retired rock star who heads to NYC to avenge his recently-deceased father by killing a former Nazi. Folks, these are the plots that cinematic dreams are made of. Peep the trailer for more.
Oh my gosh, and Frances McDormand plays his wife! This movie might be… well, perfect. Methinks.
This Must Be The Place opens November 2.
"I'm still your brother. Nothing's changed."
Last month Showtime released a really fantastic preview trailer for the forthcoming 7th season of Dexter and today they give us a new behind the scenes video that offers interviews with some of the cast AND includes new scenes from season 7. I suppose the stuff shown and discussed in this video might be considered “spoilery” but I’ve watched the clip (twice) and I think the stuff they show isn’t at all that spoilery. The video does an EXCELLENT job making me want to watch the new eps (RIGHT THE EFF NOW) so it’s a very effective promo video. If you are DYING for the new season of Dexter to start up again, I’m telling you … watching this clip will satisfy your need a tiny bit but, yeah, it’ll also make you yearn for the new season to start even more. Enjoy!

The Return of Miss E
It was reported last week that we will be getting two new singles from Missy Misdemeanor Elliott THIS WEEK. Over the weekend, Missy jumped up on stage at an event for the Fountainbleu Hotel and she performed a string of her hit songs … including portions of her new singles 9th Inning and Triple Threat. Watch the video above for a taste of what we SHOULD be hearing this week once the singles are released officially … and hopefully.
Made In America
Jay-Z took to the stage to close out the inaugural Made In America Festival and he was joined by Pearl Jam for a performance of his song 99 Problems. Yes, folks, Jay on the mic with Pearl Jam playing the music … LIVE. The video above is a bit shaky but clearly the person filming was having an absolute blast. Click below if you’d like to learn more about how this collaboration came to be and find out what you missed by not attending the Made In American Festival in Philadelphia, PA this weekend. More »
Earlier this summer (when she was on the cover of, like every single Vogue magazine) we got our first look at Marion Cotillard‘s forthcoming picture Rust And Bone. The film also stars Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts (shouts-out to PITNBR Juneh!) and that first trailer had me, already, head-over-heels. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received crazy rave reviews, and the studio has just released a brand new U.K. trailer. On Indiewire someone wrote in the comments, ‘Wow, the trailer gave me shivers…‘ and I was like okay, was it seriously that good? About 35 seconds in the goosebumps came upon me with a vengeance. It’s good.
Rust And Bone hits theatres November 16. The original trailer, with a bit more dialogue is inside.
PITNBRS, I think I’ve just found a cure for the Mondays. Seriously! Ten minutes ago, I’d never heard the name ‘Petite Meller,’ and now, I’m patiently awaiting a response to my Facebook Friend Request, lol. Who is this singer?! And why is her new track, NYC Time, currently on repeat? The singer (who apparently has a MA in Philosophy) got some help from Napoleon Habeica for this video– this guy invented the American Apparel marketing campaigns, and you can totally see the influence in the visuals. I love it!Oh, and A.T. Mann co-directed. I also love that some anonymous man of color is carrying her to NYC. Where she is then joined by a group of anonymous more um men of color… and later hangs out with cops… also men of color. LMAO. I dunno, I might hate that. Haven’t decided yet. But, on the whole, I def love this video, and the song is absolutely my new jam. Checkie out!
