The clip features Leonard Nimoy, the actor who played Spock in the original Star Trek TV series and films, and Zachary Quinto, the actor who plays Spock in the new Star Trek films. Do yourself a favor and and spend the next 2 minutes and 44 seconds of your life watching this commercial. I promise, you’ll be a better and much happier person for it.

Oh man … there is a news story out today via The Hollywood Reporter that alleges that American Idol producers were so desperate to fix the show’s embarrassingly low ratings this season that they reportedly tried to execute a plan that would’ve FIRED Mariah Carey as judge midseason and replace her with the very ratings popular ex-Idol judge Jennifer Lopez. The only reason the plan didn’t happen, according to the report, is because Mimi‘s lawyers threatened to SUE the Hell out of the show if they even tried. Now, if this report had come from a less reputable publication, I don’t know that I would necessarily believe it … because it sounds like a crazy (and contractually illegal, I might add) shake-up fantasy. Then and Now

The first season of The Carrie Diaries came to a close on Monday night and while we still don’t know if the show will be picked up for season 2 (tho I HOPE HOPE HOPE it will return), there are a lot of fun things about the first season that we can look back on and love. Despite the fact that the world of The Carrie Diaries (based on the books written by Candace Bushnell) doesn’t really match up perfectly with the world of Sex and the City (based on the TV writing of Darren Star), there are a LOT of cute little nods in TCD that foreshadow and/or refer to things in SaTC. Vulture put together an amazing video that shows just how much The Carrie Diaries referenced Sex and the City in just the first season. If you’re a fan of either show, I think you might love this video as much as I do.

Ex ‘Downton Abbey’ Star Dan Stevens Gets A Hollywood Make-Over

At the conclusion of Downton Abbey season 3 — which ended LAST YEAR in the UK and ended LAST MONTH here in the US — we learned that actor Dan Stevens would be leaving the show … for good. Over the weekend, Stevens showed up on the red carpet of the GLAAD Media Awards in NYC to show off his new Hollywood make-over and as you can see below, he is lookin’ a lot different these days. Yesterday after Lindsay Lohan took a plea bargain that kept her out of jail but locked her into a 90 stint in rehab, her father Michael Lohan positioned himself outside the courthouse and in front of any camera that was pointed in his direction to have his say about the day’s proceedings. When Lindsay‘s lawyer Mark Heller came out to address the press, Daddy Lohan FLIPPED OUT and accused Heller of showboating for attention and publicity. LOL. Can you believe the audacity of that man? LMAOOO! Michael got so riled up that he verbally and almost physically attacked Heller for daring to hog the limelight. JT Is Officially Kind Of A Big Deal

Earlier today we got to check out Justin Timberlake‘s musical performances on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live. And while the performances were good, you gotsta watch the skits! I’m still making my way through all of them, but I’m having a blast. JT officially gets inducted into the SNL Five Timer’s Club, and so some of the skits are like, on some Throwback Thursday ish, lol. Kelly Clarkson Posts An Open Letter Putting Clive Davis On BLAST!

Earlier today we learned that music mogul Clive Davis revealed his bisexuality in his new memoir The Soundtrack to My Life but the topic of his sexuality isn’t the only thing featured in the book. The lion’s share of the content in the book revolves around his storied career in music. One of the stories he shares concerns his feud with Kelly Clarkson over her album My December. According to him, Kelly is described as an emotional mess who made it difficult for him to work with. Kelly, on the other hand, has her own side of the story … and she vehemently refutes his side of the story in an open letter she posted online today. Kelly clearly has no time for what she perceives as Clive‘s bullshizz so she wants to set the record straight. I’m not exactly sure how this first beef of 2013 got so escalated but … things have gotten pretty heated between NYC rapper Azealia Banks and Detroit rapper Angel Haze. I guess Azealia tweeted some nonsense, as she is wont to do, and Angel responded by putting out a diss track. After some prodding, Azealia responded with a diss track of her own … and bam! Yesterday Jessica Simpson confirmed officially that she is pregnant with her second child and today she is reiterating that happy news in her just-released new Weight Watchers commercial. In the clip above, you can see Jessica talking about how she lost 50 pounds using Weight Watchers and then she squeezes in her I’M PREGNANT again news. Congrats, right? Weight Watchers has issued a public congratulatory message to Jessica to go along with the release of his first commercial but you just KNOW that they have got to be pissed as Hell that she’s knocked up again. Randi Zuckerberg Has The Gall To Complain Publicly About Facebook Privacy Concerns

So … how’s this for irony … Randi Zuckerberg, sister of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, posted a photo on her Facebook profile that was shared with not only her FB friends but anyone else who subscribed to her feed. One of those subscribers, Callie Schweitzer — director of marketing and projects at VoxMedia — in turn shared the Zuckerberg family photo on her Twitter profile. Randi got pissed that her “privacy” was violated when someone else shared her photo and then went on to publicly criticize Schweitzer for this breach of “digital etiquette”. I mean, isn’t it hilarious that Randi Zuckerberg is now complaining about internet privacy when her family company makes gads of cash exploiting other people’s privacy? More »
