January 6, 2015
Earlier this month we learned that MTV has decided to dedicate the upcoming season of The Challenge: Battle of the Exes II will be dedicated to castmembers Diem Brown and Ryan Knight, who both passed away after the season wrapped filming production. Today we get to see the just-released first trailer for the new season of the show. As you may know, Diem‘s illness resulted in her early exit from the show and we get to see a bit of that at the start of this trailer. The rest of the trailer looks pretty standard so, yeah, it should be a great season. Battle of the Exes II will premiere on MTV on January 6 at 9PM.
Britney Spears is Abstastic!
Yesterday we got a preview of Britney Spears‘s appearance in the January 2015 issue of Women’s Health magazine and today we get to see more from her shoot with the mag. E! News was invited to tag along on the set of her photoshoot and they bring us really fun behind the scenes video of Britney doing her thing. As you can see above, it looks like she had a blast on set and it shows in the great final photos. Make sure you watch the video to the end to learn about Britney‘s meditation practices. This is a really fun vid.
The Smiths and Nine Inch Nails have not
In early October we learned that two of my favorite bands of all time — The Smiths and Nine Inch Nails — were among the nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I am saddened and very disappointed to pass along the news today that neither group made the final induction cut into the Rock Hall‘s Class of 2015. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Lou Reed, Ringo Starr and others — including Green Day — have been announced as inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame … which is great news for those acts. I really had my heart set on both (or at least one) The Smiths and NIN getting into the Rock Hall in their first year of eligibility but, alas, it wasn’t meant to be. That said, I am beyond ecstatic that both Joan Jett and Lou Reed are finally in. More »

From Noted Barrister to Mrs. Clooney
Amal Alamuddin became a celebrity this year when she married longtime bachelor/divorcé George Clooney and almost overnight went from being a very successful barrister (lawyer) to becoming Mrs. George Clooney. Journalist Barbara Walters is among Amal‘s fans and this year named her as one of the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014. Walters did not bestow this “honor” on Alamuddin because she was a law clerk for now US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor or because she represented Julian Assange as his attorney or because of her human rights work, no, she named Amal Alamuddin — sorry, Amal Clooney THE most fascinating person of the year because of the man that she married. Iggy revealed that she will be traveling to Las Vegas, NV to meet Britney for the first time — which is amazing that they haven’t even met in person yet! Watch the video above to see Iggy‘s full interview but she doesn’t start talking about Britney and the single until the 3:35 mark. Wee!!! New Britney Spears music is officially confirmed to be on the way!! AHHH!!
"Let me say this ..."
For the first time in weeks, since the onslaught of rape and assault allegations were most recently leveled against him, Bill Cosby broke his silence in a tweet thanking his supporters. This weekend, Cosby spoke out more significantly by giving a statement to The New York Post when asked to comment on the numerous claims of assault that are being made against him, almost on an everyday basis. Click below to read what Bill Cosby has to say in the wake of the mounting allegations that continue to be made against him. More »

'SNL's saving grace
Earlier this week we saw promo videos for this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live and, as I suspected, Charli XCX‘s musical performances were the ONLY things worth watching when the ep aired last night. While the rest of the SNL was actually painful to watch, Charli‘s two musical performances stood out as a shining beacon — thankfully. Click the embed above to watch Charli‘s performance of Boom Clap (which is featured in the film The Fault In Our Stars) and then click below to watch her performance of Break The Rules, featured on her new album Sucker which is out on Tuesday.
