Just the Basics
Earlier this month, we got to see the second trailer for the big screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey and today, we get to see a few new promo photos from the movie. To be honest, I have lost pretty much all interest in seeing this movie and that what little interest is left continues to wane with the release of every new promo item for the movie. BUT, for those of you Fifty Shades fans anxiously awaiting the movie, these promo photos might be up your alley. Click below to meet the members of Christian Grey‘s adoptive family as they will be seen in the movie and see if their live-action incarnations match your image of the characters from the book. Coming in 2016
Way back in June of 2013, we first learned that plans were in the very early stages to produce a sequel film to the 1996 alien invasion movie Independence Day. Altho there was some talk that star Will Smith might return for the sequel, it was definitively revealed back in February that Smith will not be in the film. Today, we learn the happy news that production of the film is moving full steam ahead with news that filming is scheduled to begin next May and the announcement that the movie will open in theaters in the summer of 2016! “Ryan and I both love the ... character from ... The Hunchback of Notre Dame"
Back in mid-September we learned that Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling welcomed the birth of their first child together, a daughter that we learned in October the couple named Esmeralda Amada. Today, in her first interview/photoshoot since giving birth, we learn why Eva and Ryan decided to name their daughter Esmeralda Amada. Mendes sat down to chat with Violet Grey about a host of subjects, most interestingly her newborn baby girl. It turns out that Eva and Ryan were inspired to name their child after a character in Victor Hugo‘s The Hunchback of Notre Dame … at least, that’s what she says. I’d bet a considerable amount of money that they were actually inspired by the Disney animated version of Hugo‘s Hunchback character ;) Read on to hear more from new mom Eva. More »
She said / She said
Yesterday we learned that legendary singer Bette Midler went on the record in a new interview to describe Ariana Grande as a “ridiculous” singer with a “silly voice”. Elsewhere in her interview comments, Bette also voiced her opinion on Ariana‘s misused sexuality. In response, Grande took to Twitter to fire back at Bette‘s comments in an attempt to call Midler out for her supposed hypocritical comments. In response to Ariana‘s response, Bette clarifies what she was trying to say all along and ends up getting the final word … as she should. Have a look below to read the She said / She said “feud” that grew out of Bette‘s original commentary. More »

And it looks so weird
Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Pan which, we now know, will be an origin of story of sorts that will reveal how Peter Pan came to be. While the premise sounds interesting, the first look at the movie in this trailer seems a bit weird. I cannot understand how Rooney Mara was cast as the Native American character Tiger Lily but the rest of the casting seems alright. Garrett Hedlund, as the young Hook, used to be friends with Peter pre-Pan, did you know that? I’m not sure why everyone is all gaga over Peter Pan these days but of the forthcoming Peter Pan projects, I think this one looks the most interesting to me. Check out the first trailer for Pan above then click below to see the first Pan posters. More »

I think he hates the Internet again
When Prince finally joined social media back in August of 2013, I was convinced that the musical genius had FINALLY wizened up and realized that he needed to embrace the Internet instead of rallying against it. Just this past August, he used his social media accounts to promote the release of two new albums and earlier this month, Prince shared his first selfie on his official Facebook profile. Today we learn that, without warning, Prince has deleted his official Twitter and Facebook accounts. They’re dunzo, y’all. He has also pulled all but 3 videos off his official You Tube page. In one fell swoop, Prince has seemingly decided to hate the Internet again and quit social media. More »
"We have our first genetically-modified hybrid"
AHHHH!! A few days ago, with the release of that short teaser video, we learned that the first trailer for the sequel film Jurassic World would be released on Thanksgiving night. Today, we see that Universal Pictures has decided to release the trailer a wee bit early. Click the embed above to get your first look at Jurassic World and get a really good feel for what the movie will be all about. As you can see, the dinosaur theme park from Jurassic Park has been expanded into a very popular, well attended, (apparently) smooth-running theme park called Jurassic World … that is, until the genetically-modified hybrid dinosaur (I’m guessing a T-Rex/Velociraptor hybrid) that has inexplicably been created breaks loose and wrecks havoc on the island. I honestly got CHILLS watching this trailer. Are we actually seeing Chris Pratt‘s character team up WITH the raptors to battle the monstrous yet unseen new hybrid dino?! OMG! Watch this trailer again and again, feel the feels, then let me know what you think about Jurassic World in the comments below. This movie is going to RULE all! AHHH!!!

Back in 2012, we first learned that Disney/Pixar was planning production of a sequel film to Finding Nemo that would ultimately be revealed as a film titled Finding Dory. Initially, it was reported that Finding Dory would be opening in theaters in 2015 but it has since been pushed back to 2016. Today we get to check out the first poster that has been released for Finding Dory which is good news, I guess, even if the poster leaves much to be desired. More »
