Has her ankle injury spoiled plans for the 'Pretty Girls' release?
In the past week or so, Britney Spears has been tweeting about the forthcoming release of her new single Pretty Girls (which is sure to be the smash hit song of the summer) but not long after she injured her ankle while performing her Las Vegas show Wednesday night, all mention of Pretty Girls has been scrubbed from Britney‘s social media accounts. Britney‘s injury resulted in her having to cancel two of her concert performances this weekend and it is feared that she may also cancel the live performance she was supposed to do at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards where Pretty Girls was to have its live debut. For whatever reason, all the tweets and promotion that Britney has done for her new single has disappeared … so we be worried? More »
TMNT2 in production
At the very start of this month, we learned that Arrow star Stephen Amell has been cast as Casey Jones in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel film. Casey Jones, as you may know, is the hockey-mask wearing, hockey stick-wielding ally of the Turtles and is a character that is integral to the TMNT story … so, of course, he has to be in the sequel film and, of course, they a great actor to play the part. Director Michael Bay shares the first photo of Amell in character as Jones, which you can see in full below. More »
The TV Guide
My Wednesday night was super quiet. I spent the whole thing on the couch watching TV, playing games, reading comics … you know, the important stuff. I actually planned on getting out of the house but you know how it goes once the laziness sets in and you talk yourself out of getting up and out. I happened to catch a tweet posted by Jennifer Lopez last night which promoted the release of her last movie The Boy Next Door on DVD/Blu-Ray and I used the opportunity to make a little joke. She LOLed, I LOLed and my night was made. More »
She says she's "OK"
OK … I don’t want anyone to freak out too much but … our dear Britney Spears took a tumble on stage during her performance of Britney: Piece Of Me in Las Vegas, NV last night that caused a bit of concern among her longtime fans. Way back in 2004, you may recall, Britney injured her knee while she was filming the music video for her song Outrageous (with Snoop Dogg) and the injury was so bad that she required very serious knee surgery which resulted in the early cancellation of the remainder of her Onyx Hotel Tour … and was, IMHO, the start of the downward decline that almost ruined her life and career. It took Britney a very long time to recover from that injury … so any tumble she takes is cause for concern. Thankfully, Britney assures us that she is “OK”. Click the embed above to watch video of Britney‘s performance last night … you can see her fall at the very end of the clip. Then, click below to read the message she sent out to fans afterward letting us know that she is “OK”. More »
I love this SO much!
Actress Hayley Atwell has appeared in many films but she is best known here in the US as Margaret Peggy Carter, the Marvel Comics character (and love interest) from the Captain America movies as well as her own stand-alone TV series Agent Carter. Because she so loves the character that she plays (and probably just for laughs), Atwell decided to go to the California Department of Motor Vehicles to take her drivers license photo in character as Peggy Carter. Haha. Honestly, it’s not as if Hayley dressed as Peggy is all that different from Hayley dressed as Hayley but fans of Agent Carter will immediately recognize that in the DMV drivers license photo below, we are seeing Peggy Carter — not necessarily Hayley Atwell. A couple of days ago, we got our first look at young actor Kodi Smit-McPhee as he will look as Nightcrawler in the upcoming superhero prequel sequel film X-Men: Apocalypse. Today we learn that filming production of the next X-Men movie has begun in Montreal, Québec courtesy of photos shared by director Bryan Singer and eagle-eyed fans who managed to find the movie set. Singer reveals that X-Men: Apocalypse is set in the early 1980′s — “around 1983″ — and day 1 of filming took place in a shopping mall (fitting). A pair of photos shared by a fan on Twitter give us another look at Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler and gives us our first look at Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and Lana Condor as Jubilee. "Tidal is doing just fine... We have been in business less than one month."
If you follow Jay Z on Twitter, you know that he only uses the social media tool once in a blue moon. He follows no one, and he’s sent out less than 300 tweets since joining in 2008. So when Jigga tweets, we all listen, and last night he started by announcing that he’d be sharing some #TidalFacts via “Stream of consciousness” for a short while. He reminded those of is who’ve labeled his company a flop that they’ve only been in business for a month, and that it takes time to build a lasting legacy. He even accused some major companies of “spending millions on a smear campaign” against TIDAL. So, suffice it to say, he went in. Click inside for more!
It was a VERY short engagement
My apologies and condolences to all of the Ian (smoldering hot) Somerhalder fans out there, but I’ve just got to pass this news along. Now I never watched Vampire Diaries, so I didn’t get really attached to this guy, but I’ve seen enough photo shoots to know that Nikki Reed done good. After a very brief engagement, and less than a year of dating, the two went ahead and got hitched! Click inside for more!
Nearly 17 Million people tuned in
Yesterday, many of us woke up to some serious Twitter buzz about Bruce Jenner‘s historical interview with Diane Sawyer. I rounded up some of the supportive messages he received from celebrities on Twitter, but it turns out that buzz was even bigger than we thought. If it felt like everyone was talking/tweeting about it, it’s because pretty much everyone was. The Nielson Social ratings are in, and the 20/20 special became Twitter’s most social Friday telecast of all time. Click inside for more.
There will be blood
Earlier this month we saw photos from the Vancouver, British Columbia set of Deadpool and today we get another update from the Deadpool set. Ryan Reynolds shared a photo of himself from the set letting us know that filming production of the movie has reached the midpoint. As you can see below, the fake-bloodied Reynolds is not wearing his Deadpool costume so it looks like he is giving us another look at Wade Wilson (but without his scars). Click below to see this new photo and see how much fun/work is going into the making of Deadpool. More »
