He *literally* rocked his pants off O_O
So, um, Lenny Kravitz performed a concert at the Gröna Lund theme park in Stockholm, Sweden yesterday and suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction of EPIC proportions. During the FIRST SONG of his set, Lenny squatted down in a rocker pose and spread his legs so wide that he split open his leather (pleather?) pants so that ALL of his goods spilled out in the faces of the hapless audience members in the front row of his show. It should come as no surprise that Lenny likes to wear his skin tight pants without any underwear underneath, which I’m sure usually works out pretty well for him. But when his pants split wide open at the crotch, well, as you can see below, his decision to go commando didn’t work out well for him at all. Whoops! More »

His 'Grand Finale' will be released on August 7
For 15 years, we’ve been hearing about Dr. Dre‘s “new album” in one form or another. We would hear rumors and reports, then nothing … then more rumors … then delays … it was supposed to be titled The Chronic II, then it was supposed to be titled Detox and it was meant to be his career masterpiece and, yet … nothing ever came. Today, tho, at LONG last … we learn that Dr. Dre will finally release his next album next week … on Friday August 7. The Detox album has been scrapped … this new album is titled Compton: A Soundtrack and it will feature artists like Ice Cube, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and Snoop Dogg. The songs on this 16-track album, which Dre himself calls his “grand finale”, were inspired by the making of the forthcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. Wow. Click below to see the tracklisting for Compton and watch a short video of Dre announcing the release of his NEW album. More »
Family infighting haunts Bobbi Kristina to the very end
As we learned earlier this week, Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s funeral is taking place today at St. James United Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA and, very sadly, it’s not the mournful, respectful, loving affair that it should be. As you may recall, we learned previously that the two sides of BK‘s family — the Houstons and the Browns — couldn’t agree on how best to memorialize Bobbi Kristina, which got the family feuding into full swing before the funeral even took place. Today we learn that the funeral invite that was sent to family members caused strife between BK‘s aunts Pat Houston and Leolah Brown … and the infighting has reached a point where the two sides of the family are distrustful of one another … which is absolutely the worst way to memorialize Bobbi Kristina but, sadly, is par for the course for the family drama that she endured her entire life :( UPDATE: Bobbi Kristina‘s funeral service turned ugly, unfortunately. Earlier this month we learned that former One Direction member Zayn Malik possibly “broke up” with his new producer BFF Naughty Boy after the two got into a very public Twitter feud (you may know that Zayn and Naughty had been inseparable since Malik left 1D earlier this year). Today we learn that Zayn‘s aspirations to become a solo artist are moving forward, even without Naughty Boy at his side. Zayn signed a record deal with RCA Records in an attempt to show the world who he “really is”. Zayn happily shared a photo and his new record deal news on his official Twitter profile, all of which you can see below. More »

"Hi Tanners, I'm home"
Back in April we first learned that Netflix officially announced production of a Full House spin-off series titled Fuller House that is set to debut on the streaming network next year. In June, actor John Stamos put the reboot in jeopardy (as well as the lives of other drivers) when he got arrested for drunk driving. A couple of weeks ago, Stamos checked himself into rehab, only to check himself out just under two weeks later. Today, we see the first photos shared by John Stamos on the set of Fuller House. In spite of Stamos’s personal problems, it looks like it’s full steam ahead on production of this Full House spin-off sequel series. More »
Our American norm continues to confound others
The other day, for the first time ever, Trent posted something on his Facebook page that I immediately took issue with, because I knew there was no way it could be true. It was a small, square-shaped diagram that read 2015: 204 Mass Shootings in 204 Days. I saw that the source was the Washington Post and quickly looked for the article. No way there were 204 mass shootings this year. We’ve only really heard about, like 10 of them! So yeah, I was wrong. And that moment was proof of a certain denial we all have towards this issue, and proof of the fact that mass shootings are so common, we really don’t give all that much of a fuck about them anymore. So here’s another article about another celebrity speaking out against our gun laws and policies in America, even though this new wave of commentary will likely not change anything.

"I missed the point"
Yesterday we learned of the Twitter feud/beef/whatever between Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift after Taylor took offense to a series of tweets that Nicki posted about her lack of nominations at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor erroneously believed that Nicki was calling her out and posted a response to Nicki that did nothing but ignite the needless “feud”. Yesterday afternoon, pop star Katy Perry chimed in with her $0.02 on the matter and without naming names commented publicly on the irony of Taylor lambasting Nicki for “pitting women against one another” when Katy believes that is exactly what Taylor has done to her in the past. Just a short time ago, Taylor posted an apology to Nicki on her official Twitter profile which, I’m guessing she hopes will bring this saga to a close. Click below to read Katy‘s take on the matter and Taylor‘s mea culpa. More »
"It's unlike you to pit women against each other"
Sigh. As you may know, MTV revealed yesterday the nominees for their annual Video Music Awards, which will be handed out live on MTV on August 30. Not long after the noms were announced, Nicki Minaj took to her official Twitter profile to voice her disdain for her lack of VMAs nominations. Altho Nicki snagged 3 VMAs nominations (including 2 for her Anaconda music video), she lamented publicly the fact that she didn’t receive more nominations and, in the process, blamed her lack of nominations on the fact that she is not “a different ‘kind’ of artist” … which many took as a reference to the fact that she is Black, not Caucasian. In another tweet, Nicki made reference to the fact that another music video, which “celebrates women with very slim bodies”, nabbed more nominations which obviously upset her. I, personally, felt that she was referring to Taylor Swift but Nicki never once calls her out by name and, honestly, could’ve been referring to any other female artist that wasn’t her (like, for example, Beyoncé‘s 7/11 music video which is a video that “celebrates women with very slim bodies”). Taylor, too, felt that Nicki was talking about her and she retorted with a tweet of her own that accused Nicki of “pitting women against each other” … and the mess just took off from there. And thus, the great Twitter Beef between Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift was born. Click below to read the tweets, see where things stand between the two singers and see how much fun Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran had with Taylor and Nicki‘s Twitter feud. More »
It’s hard to believe but Prince George, the eldest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton — the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will turn 2 years old tomorrow (or today, if it’s already today in the UK … which I’m never sure about because Europe is always so far in the future to us here on the West Coast). His little sister, Princess Charlotte, has been getting all the attention lately — what with her being born and all — but now that the spotlight is off her for a minute, we can focus on the 2 year old prince. It seems like only yesterday that we heard that Wills and Kate were pregs with their first child and now, here we are, 2 years later and 2 babies. To celebrate George‘s birthday, the royal family has released an official new photo of the prince which was shot by famed photographer Mario Testino because, hello, this is how the royals do. Check out Prince George‘s super cute birthday photo below. More »
Yesterday we learned that NBC has started early planning for a reboot of the ’90s fantasy series Xena: Warrior Princess, which delighted many fans of the original series … and likely frightened others. BUT, before we get all excited about this reboot of Xena, I think it would behoove us to take a step back and not get too excited just yet. Lucy Lawless posted a message on her official Twitter profile shortly after the Xena reboot news was announced to maintain that the show’s revival is “just a rumor” at this point. According to her, there is nothing to pin our hopes on … yet. Click below to read Lucy‘s tweet about the alleged Xena reboot and speculate along with me about what this might mean for a possible return of the Warrior Princess. More »
