Past Due ‘Rent’

The TV Guide

Last night was a pretty bizzy night for David and me as we had a pretty full plate of entertainment to enjoy. To get the night started, we attended last night’s performance of the new off-Broadway production of Rent (which I enjoyed … for the most part, review to follow) and then a night of revelry at Splash Bar with some friends. Now, David and I are not accustomed to late nights but we managed to muster up the strength to party hearty. More »

‘Sleep’, Perchance To Nightmare

The TV Guide

Last night David and I got to attend a performance of the amazing new off-Broadway show Sleep No More. For months now I’ve been hearing about this show and have been really anxious to see it. I purchased our tickets for last night’s show back in early June … because the rest of June and all of July had already sold out. I wouldn’t be surprised if you haven’t heard of Sleep No More, most of the buzz has been word of mouth … but I’m telling you right now, it’s an experience that you do NOT want to miss. More »

Welcoming A New Baby To The Family

The TV Guide

So … I did it. I found a new car to replace the one I had to turn in last week. As the lease was winding down on my VW crossover, I wasn’t sure what to replace it with. As much as I loved my VW, it never felt as smooth, as slick as David’s Cadillac. So … it made sense to go look at the Cadillac SRX crossover … and, naturally, it was love at first sight. After David and I brought my new baby home, we made our way out to The Blank Theater to see our friend Tom Lenk in his one man show Nerdgasm. It was a bizzy but very fun day. More »

Theater Review: ‘Tales Of The City’

The TV Guide

David and I were able to see the new musical Tales Of The City currently in production here in San Francisco, CA and despite not having read any reviews about the show we were very excited to see the show. I’m a HUGE fan of the original PBS miniseries Tales Of The City and hold the characters created by Armistead Maupin very near and dear to my heart. I was hoping to love the show … and thankfully, that’s exactly what I did :D More »

Dearly Beloved

The TV Guide

As I mentioned yesterday, David and I met up with Emma and Josh – as well as our other friend Josh and his new friend Jay — at the Odyssey Theater to see another performance of Blood Wedding. Josh Z. is starring the production and Josh R. wanted to see it so we all decided to go together. It was a veritable Joshfest. After the show, we convened at Upper West for a late dinner and some drinks. Nothing to exciting but ’twas a very nice Friday night, indeed. More »

A Nice Day For A ‘Blood Wedding’

The TV Guide

For the most part, yesterday was a very nice and relaxing day … but last night, I was quite the bizzy little bee. First, David and I made our way to the Odyssey Theater here in LA to see our good friend Josh perform on the opening night of his new play Blood Wedding. After the show, I had to get to West Hollywood to see Missing Persons live in concert at The Viper Room. It was a night of fantastic entertainment, once that I enjoyed very much. More »

Theater Review: ‘God Of Carnage’

The TV Guide

After missing the show on Broadway, David and I were very excited to learn that the Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage was being performed here in LA with the original Broadway cast — Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels. We waited for a performance where we could get really good tickets so that is why we waited until the show nearly ends its run to see it. The show ends performances here in LA this weekend … but we managed to get really good seats for our show. In short, we both loved God of Carnage very much … and we were very surprised at how the drama unfolded on stage ;) More »

Lindsay Lohan’s Trainwreck Life Becomes An Off-Broadway Show

Plus, She Reportedly Decides to Plead 'No Contest' to Theft

Sometimes life is stranger than fiction and that is SO very much the case when it comes to the trainwreck of a life lived by Lindsay Lohan. Director Ben Rimalower and performer D’Arcy Drollinger have created an off-Broadway show called Project: Lohan that takes the found text of Lindsay‘s actual words and turns it into entertainment. Project: Lohan debuted in NYC last night and promises to give a fair but funny portrayal of the young girl’s very messy life. In real life, TMZ is reporting that Lindsay has decided to plead no contest to the misdemeanor charges of theft brought against her. If she does plead no contest, that would mean she would need to serve that 120 day jail sentence that she got slapped with a couple of weeks ago. Might Lindsay be ready to take responsibility for her actions? Is that even possible? More »
