Another Restless ‘Sleep’

The TV Guide

Last night was my 7th visit to the amazing Broadway show Sleep No More and it was, I have to tell you, another fantastic night of immersive theater. I was able to see new things and some of my favorite scenes from different perspectives. As far as I can tell right now, I think I’ve seen the show enough times to be satisfied ;) I went to the show last night with my friend Kanani and we honestly had the best time ever. More »

Night Of The Apparitions

The TV Guide

Last night I attended my 7th performance of the SIMPLY BRILLIANT off Broadway show Sleep No More. Just like Thursday night’s show, last night’s performance was Hallowe’en themed … called Night of the Apparitions. Audience members were required to wear all white, which added to the show’s ominous appearance. Once again, even tho it was my 7th performance, I had an amazingly wonderful time. I experienced NEW stuff I had yet to see and, again, was gifted with a few baubles from members of the cast. I also got to meet some of the actors after the show AND I got to hang out with a fabulous Pink reader named Elizabeth. It really was a fantastic night. More »

The Darkest Shadow

The TV Guide

So, last night I attended my first Hallowe’en edition of the immersive off Broadway show Sleep No More (my 6th performance overall) and I have to say, it was deffo among my fave experiences of the bunch. The night was themed The Darkest Shadow and attendees were required to wear all black outfits. I was very pleased to discover that the show was changed slightly for the night’s performance and, as a result, I was able to enjoy a new, very fun experience. It’s because of how awesome last night’s performance was that I keep coming back for more. More »

Watch: P!nk Performs ‘Summertime’ At ‘Sleep No More’ In NYC

This past weekend, singer P!nk attended a performance of the amazing immersive theatrical experience Sleep No More and at one point became part of the show. P!nk jumped up on stage at the Manderlay Bar inside the Sleep No More theater and performed the classic song Summertime with one of the show’s performers. It’s unclear if P!nk rehearsed the song or just winged it but in either case, she sounded pretty damn fantastic. Click below to check it out. More »

Joss Whedon Announces The Production Of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’

Joss Does Shakespeare

Late yesterday afternoon actors Nathan Fillion and Alyson Hannigan announced on their official Twitter profiles that director/writer/god Joss Whedon has completed principle shooting of a new film version of the William Shakespeare play Much Ado About Nothing. That’s right, in the midst of Joss‘s work directing The Avengers (which still isn’t completely finished), Whedon managed to film Much Ado in its entirety for release (I am presuming) sometime next year. AND, while that news in and of itself is very exciting … for me, this announcement is doubly exciting because I can now reveal to you all that I not only was able to be on set for this Much Ado shoot but I was also able to be an EXTRA IN THE FILM! Gone In A ‘Flash’

The TV Guide

Last night David and I made our way to downtown LA to attend a theatrical performance by our friend Josh Z. and the rest of his troupe in Flash Theater LA. Flash Theater LA presents live theater in a spontaneous way and in random places. Last night’s performance took place right in the middle of downtown LA … and it was a very cool performance. Click below to check out some photos that I snapped last night. More »

Fortune Favors The Bold

The TV Guide

Yesterday was my first full day here in NYC and it was a pretty bizzy, very fun one. David and I managed to successfully surprise his parents for his Dad’s birthday and the entire Hauslaib family and I ventured out for a nice Thai dinner together. Then we all split up, they went to see the show Traces and I went off to see Sleep No More (and MAN, did I have a great night there). After the shows, David and I met up with our new BFFs Tiffany, Travis and Jill at Barcelona Bar for some drunken revelry. It was a GREAT GREAT day/evening/night. More »

‘Sleep’ Once More

The TV Guide

On Thursday night, after so many recommendations from friends, David and I attended a performance of the NYC interactive theatrical production Sleep No More. I loved the show SO MUCH and felt that I NEEDED to see/experience more, I decided to go see the show again last night. Because Sleep No More is closing next month and my next visit to NYC isn’t until November, last night was my last chance to see it … so when a ticket became available, I jumped on it. I have to tell you … as much as I loved the show the first time, I really REALLY enjoyed it much better the second time … because I knew what to look for and was able to customize my experience. Trust me, this is a show that YOU MUST SEE. Read on if you want to hear more about my second time around. More »

Theater Review: ‘Rent’ (2011)

The TV Guide

As I mentioned earlier, David and I got to see the new off-Broadway production of Rent here in NYC and as a HUGE Renthead, I was excited and a bit worried about seeing the show. I’ve seen the show well over 30 times so it holds a place dear in my heart. I knew that there would have to be some changes made to the show but my hope was that the spirit and soul of the show would remain intact. Thankfully, yes, the numerous changes to the show did NOT change the emotional impact of the show. While I didn’t love every change, I did enjoy the show overall very much. More »
