'A Dad's Dream'
Snoop Dogg and his son Cordell Broadus have signed on to appear in a 5-part docu-series for ESPN that will chronicle Cordell‘s journey from high school football player to NCAA college football player. The first trailer for this new docu-series, titled Snoop & Son: A Dad’s Dream, has been released and you can watch it in full above. From the look of this trailer, it would appear that we are going to see two sides of Snoop‘s personality … the doting dad who is proud of his son’s success and the doting dad who is also a music icon who is proud of his son’s success. I don’t really watch ESPN but this looks pretty great. The series will premiere on January 17 and I think I’ll be tuning in, will you?
The Queen & King meet a Duke & Duchess
Prince William and Kate Middleton have made their way to the US for a royal visit this week and last night they attended a Brooklyn Nets basketball game at Barclay Center in Brooklyn, NY. As fate would have it, America’s own royal couple Beyoncé and Jay Z were also in attendance at last nights Nets basketball game … which meant that B-Jay were able to meet and hang out with Wills and Kate. Click the video above to watch some of their interactions last night … then click below to watch a few Vine videos that also show the couples interacting on a loop. More »
There will be glitter.
Back in October we hear whisperings about a Katy Perry performance during the Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX halftime show, but the news hadn’t been confirmed yet. Perry was reportedly gearing up for a performance alongside Rihanna and Coldplay, and I guess a big part of her appeal is her fun and bubbly, mostly non-controversial image. As a result of players being charged with child abuse and domestic violence, the NFL has been coming under fire lately, and they need a drama-free night. So Katy Perry is, officially, headlining the halftime show! CLick inside for more!
Back in July we got an eyeful of the Warwick Rowing Team that decided to get naked in order to fight homophobia with their nakedness. Earlier this month, we were reminded of the great work they continue to do in this area of nakedness. Today we learn that the University of Nottingham Field Hockey Team has also decided to get naked in order to fight homophobia in sports and are sharing the video above of their equally hard and very important work. The video really speaks for itself. It’s probably wise to warn that the video is NSFW but in the fight for homophobia, we do what we must. Thanks for your efforts, guys. Please keep up the good work.
For at least a few weeks now, rumors have been going around that Miley Cyrus has been hooking up with Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Maria Shriver and former California governor/sometimes actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Today we have photographic proof that the pair have coupled up. Miley and Patrick were in attendance at a USC Trojans football game last night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and they did their best to show the world that they are a new couple by engaging in a bit of PDA … tho, as you can see below, Patrick looked way more intreated in his mobile phone than he was in kissing his new girlfriend Miley Cyrus. NFL Teamless once again
Sigh. In early September, we learned that the Dallas Cowboys officially signed Michael Sam to join their practice squad after he was let go from the St. Louis Rams football team. Today we learn that the Cowboys have decided to cut Sam from their team as well. Michael, as you might be well aware, became the first openly gay player in the NFL earlier this year but now … he’s teamless again :( More »
'Page Six' reports
Back in August there were rumors that Carrie Underwood was being considered to perform the halftime show of Super Bowl XLIX next February but just a few days later, it was revealed that she was pregnant … and likely out of the running for the Super Bowl gig. Today we are hearing that pop star Katy Perry has been tapped as the halftime performer for Super Bowl XLIX. The news hasn’t been officially confirmed but I can absolutely believe that Katy will perform the Super Bowl halftime show next year. More »
PITNBr DJ FTW! And Other Awesomeness In Comments This Week!
It’s Sunday night and I may be losing my mind a bit. Somewhere between the start of First grade for one son, the start of Pre-K for another, and a third getting way more teeth than necessary, I think I’ve officially become one of those crazy mothers whoo just wants to put the kids to bed so she can catch up on The Strain, and make 10 sandwiches for the week. All of that to say, THANK YOU PITNBrs for another week of hilarious, awesome commentary to take my mind off the fact that I am probably losing my mind. Click inside for moooore!
Now, he needs to be imprisoned
Earlier today we saw horribly disturbing and, IMHO, terribly criminal video evidence of Baltimore Ravens football player Ray Rice physically assaulting his then-fiancée/now wife Janay Palmer in an elevator. Just a short time ago, the Ravens football team has FINALLY decided to release the scumbag from his NFL contract. At last, he has been fired. At this point, it remains to be seen if criminal charges will be brought against Rice for assaulting his wife but his firing from the Ravens football team is an EXCELLENT start. More »
A whole universe of WTF
*Deep breath* Okay. I almost want to take back every single thing I wrote in that piece that was sort of in defense of Stephen A. Smith‘s comments about domestic violence. I almost want to say—nevermind, I was kidding. Or, more to the point, I was wrong. But it’s hard to admit when you’re wrong, so I’ll just say that seeing this footage makes me want to have an entirely different conversation. People. WHAT are we doing? Why am I looking at a video of a man knocking out his wife and dragging (and kicking—because at the 0:57 mark, he actually KICKS HER UNCONSCIOUS BODY) his wife out of an elevator. Before we even get to the incredible, effed up-ness of it all, I also have to say that there’s a part of me that doesn’t want to post this. If it was me, and I was in an abusive relationship, I would not want video evidence of my abuse on the internet. People are making GIFs in an attempt to show the severity of the attack, but I really feel for Janay Palmer. She’s married to him now, and I feel like I just don’t know what to say… other than that, we all need to do better as parents? Like, somewhere, somebody’s parents f—ed up, and now we have this video as a result. I also want to stress that what we are looking at may feel shocking, but IT IS NOT UNCOMMON. It is, instead, quite common. So, like I said, we need to do better. Click inside for more.
