Dead is Dead
TV Line secured a quick interview with actress Maisie Williams on the red carpet of the Emmy Awards Sunday night and in addition to asking her about her upcoming guest appearance in the new season of Doctor Who, she was also asked about the mortality of the Jon Snow character (played by Kit Harington) on Game of Thrones. If you are caught up with Game of Thrones (which ended its 5th season months ago, so it’s not really a spoiler to talk about it now), then you know that Jon Snow appeared to have been killed in the season finale episode … but because he is such a big, important character, many people refuse to believe that he is actually dead (or will remain dead). Maisie was asked the Jon Snow question and she unequivocally answers that he is dead … adding, “sorry”. Click below to watch her short video interview and see what you think about what she has to say about the deadness of Jon Snow. More »
This is going to be incredible.
As I sit her at my computer, listening to Jay Z and pondering the meaning of life, love, and all those drinks I had last night, one profound truth has occurred to me: Life was better with Empire. There’s been a sort of lull over the past few months and I realize now that it’s partly due to a severe lack of Empire, and I’m holding on to any news about Season Two and its impending arrival. Batman begins again
Back in March we learned that DC Comics was planning to update the costumes for both Wonder Woman and Superman in upcoming issues of their respective comic book titles and today we learn that they are also giving Batman a new costume as well. Back when the news about WW and Supes‘s new looks, it was revealed that Batman was also getting new armor but today we get to see what is underneath that armor. Of course, Bat‘s new look is black … but as you can see below, it’s pretty slick and, I think, a great style update. BUT BE WARNED: The first look at Batman‘s new comic book costume comes with a MAJOR spoiler about the comic book story. Proceed with caution. More »
Last week we got to see a pretty sweet look at The Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) filming a scene together on the set of Suicide Squad. Today, we get to see a new video from the set that gives us a very good indication that Batman (Ben Affleck) may appear in some capacity in this new superhero movie. An industrious fan managed to get Instagram video of a scene being filmed where The Joker and Harley Quinn were being chased by the Batmobile. SO, unless Batman‘s whip gets stolen by someone else, it seems pretty likely that Batman will appear in Suicide Squad at least in some capacity. More »
I am one of maybe four people you know who hasn’t seen Avengers: Age of Ultron yet. I know that means that I basically don’t exist or something, but yeah. That’s what’s going on with me. At any rate, I figure those of you who have seen it will be excited to learn that the Blu-Ray release is going to feature an alternate ending. Joss Whedon was a guest on the Empire Film podcast and he shared the big news. Obviously, there are SPOILERS AHEAD so back out now while you have the chance. Otherwise, click inside for more!
E-VERY-THING (plus SPOILERS!!!)
We Mad Men fans are an absolute emotional wreck this morning. What happened? Where are we? WHO are we? There’s going to be plenty to read online this morning about the last episode ever of one of the greatest TV shows ever, but I’m going to focus on the one character who absolutely blew me away last night. All these years I’ve been talking about Peggy Olson, and hailing Elisabeth Moss‘ character as one of the most important TV characters—especially among women. But Joan Holloway-Harris‘ arc has been so fantastic—surprising and fulfilling in every way—that I just have to talk about it. Click inside for more!

Last night, my favorite show of the season came to a close. The Good Wife—you done us good. Season Six hasn’t been perfect, but it’s definitely been fun. I don’t know what I was expecting going into the finale, but there were definitely some major surprises. We got a little more time with Kalinda, thankfully, some great moments with Finn and Alicia partnering up, and the return of a favorite guest star of whom we might be seeing a whole lot more in the fall. If you didn’t catch it, please go get your life and watch right now (and come back afterwards), because SPOILERS! Everyone else, click inside for more!

Pete & Peggy feels upon feels
Last night was a mess. I nearly had a heart attack when I realized that The Good Wife had stopped recording on my DVR and I’d missed the last 10 minutes, but I saw enough to know that we lost someone really special. So by the time I switched over to Mad Men, I was already more emotional than anyone should probably be at 10 PM on a Sunday. And then came the feels—feels upon feels, upon feels. Mommy feels, career feels, Pete and Peggy feels. I honestly cried, like, two separate times because I was still reeling from The Good Wife, and because I’m a crazy person who feels emotionally attached to fictional characters. Whatever. Click inside for more! And yes, expect SPOILERS!
If you saw last night’s incredible, amazing Mad Men episode, you are likely still reeling from that amazingness that is this final season. So many great things happened last night, but there was one particular storyline that felt like a really special treat for those of us who can still quote lines from Season One by heart. If you didn’t catch “The Forecast” last night, THE SPOILER OF YOUR LIFE is inside, but if you did watch it, click inside for more because OMFG GLENNNNNNNN!
This show is kind of... awesome
I hadn’t made plans to watch the new FOX post-apocalyptic comedy The Last Man On Earth, and then I started reading all of this buzz about it. One of our editors at Paste Magazine wrote an essay about it when the show first premiered, and finally one day I decided to watch the first few episodes. Totally fell in love, totally can’t stop watching. It’s a nice, light-hearted (but still really funny and fascinating) alternative to my top special shows (The Good Wife, Scandal, Mad Men, etc.). All of that to say, why aren’t you watching this show with me?! Click inside for more (also, if you’re really not watching, SPOILERS AHEAD)!
