Fifty Shades of Paris
Last week Paris Hilton released the audio for her new single High Off My Love. Today, she unveils the music video for the track. As you can see in the clip embedded above, Paris gets all kinds of freaky-deaky in this video for the song which features Birdman on guest vocals. While the song isn’t one of my faves, I don’t mind it all that much in terms of a non-serious pop song. Have a look at the video and see if it tickles your fancy. Are you happy that Paris Hilton is back as a pop star?
The Park is finally open
At the start of this month, we got to see a behind the scenes featurette for the upcoming sequel film Jurassic World that expertly reminded us how amazing the first film, Jurassic Park, is/was/will forever be. Today, we get to check out a new TV spot for Jurassic World, due in theaters on June 12, that uses the voice of Dr. John Hammond from Jurassic Park (played by Richard Attenborough) to narrate the attractions and features of Jurassic World. They are really going out of their way to remind potential Jurassic World viewers of Jurassic Park, which is a brilliant promo strategy, I think. Click above to watch the TV spot and get excited, we are less than a month away from the release of Jurassic World!

"We wish him the best of luck with whatever he gets up to."
Last week we learned of the very sad, very public Twitter feud that erupted between former One Direction member Zayn Malik and continuing 1D member Louis Tomlinson over a photo that was posted online. Today, we get to see video of a new interview with the members of One Direction that they gave to James Corden on The Late Late Show last night. In their chat, the 1D lads spoke about their feelings regarding Zayn‘s decision to leave the group (“At first we were a little bit angry. We were surprised.“) as well as Louis‘s now-settled Twitter beef with Zayn (“It’s all good in the hood.“) in an effort to put the drama behind them. In addition to their interview chat, the members of 1D played a bit of dodgeball with Corden on the show … which you can watch below. More »
Cosby will address students later today
At present, more than 40 women have accused Bill Cosby of rape and/or sexual assault over course of the last year or so but going back 30+ years into his career. Earlier today, Cosby made an appearance on Good Morning America to address those allegations in a very bizarre manner that didn’t really address the allegations at all. Cosby is scheduled to deliver remarks to a group of students in Alabama later today and the expectation is that his participation at and event called March for Education will cause some controversy … because he has been accused by so many women of assault and has yet to actually discuss those allegations. His appearance on GMA was meant, I think, to diffuse some of that controversy … but after hearing his remarks below, it appears he has only made the situation more confusing. More »
"Sometimes your worst self is your best self"
In early April, we got to see the first teaser trailer for the forthcoming second season of True Detective season 2, which will premiere on HBO on June 21. Today we get to see the just-released second trailer video for the new season of the show and, as you can see above, a lot of dark things are teased in this new clip. The new cast of TD season 2 includes Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch … and from the looks of things thus far, it would appear that the second season of True Detective is going to bum us out considerably. Check out the trailer and save the date, True Detective season 2 cometh next month.

The TV Guide
Late last night, Sony Pictures announced plans to remake the 1995 movie The Craft for a new generation and almost immediately, friends, PITNB readers and fellow fans of The Craft started flooding my social media accounts and my email inbox with links and comments … so much so that I felt I needed to take some time to process the news and then form a reasoned opinion. After a few hours, I decided I needed to take the night … and then this morning, I decided I needed a bit more time. Without question, The Craft is one of the more important movies of my life (for various reasons) so news that will be remake with a new cast and, likely, a new story has been hard to process. A very minuscule part of me loves the story so much, that a perfectly made remake helmed by a female director might offer a fun new take on witch tale … but, overwhelmingly, the rest of me is screaming that this idea to remake The Craft is a bad, very bad idea. Let's TRY and forget that awful 'Jem' movie trailer
Earlier this week, as I’m sure you are painfully aware, the first trailer for the Jem and the Holograms live-action movie was released and confirmed my fears that the movie adaptation would ruin our memories of the original ’80s cartoon. Ugh. And so, I am reminded of a #ThrowbackThursday post I wrote about a year ago that gathered together 21 of my favorite music videos from the Jem and the Holograms cartoon series (1985-1988) … which I am re-sharing today in an effort to REMIND YOU ALL how brilliantly perfect the original cartoon remains and to, hopefully, try and help you forget the travesty that will be the live-action Jem movie coming this fall. The videos below feature Jem, The Holograms, Synergy, THE MISFITS and actual cartoon holograms … the things that make the Jem story so great (and are missing from the live-action movie). Please, click through the videos below and SEE how amazing Jem and the Holograms was, is and will forever be no matter what crappy movies come our way and try to steal our love for Jem. Please, enjoy.
"We went back too fast, and when the matriarch died the sisters started fighting."
It has been some time since Joan Rivers passed away but her daughter Melissa Rivers is still not over the pain of loss … particularly in the wake of the debacle that Joan‘s E! show Fashion Police turned into after Kathy Griffin took over as host. As you may recall, the hosts of Fashion Police got into trouble when Giuliana Rancic made that racist comment about Zendaya on the show and then Kelly Osbourne quit as co-host, followed by Kathy Griffin who quit as well. In a very long interview with Hoda Kotb, Melissa shares her belief that Griffin, “kind of shit all over [Joan Rivers's] legacy”. She goes on to say, “It was a very, very difficult time, I had a lot of conversations with everybody involved … It really shows that we were a family. We went back too fast, and when the matriarch died the sisters started fighting. It was extremely frustrating as I had to keep my eye on the franchise and the legacy of it and not get involved in the personal,” she said. “I felt like ‘Fashion Police’ was this little jewel, and it was the last piece I had of my mother and I working together. I felt like all these people were so out of control including the one who made the allegations of racism. They took the last thing I had and smashed it,” she said. “I felt like I was Humpty Dumpty and I was on my knees gluing it back together. It never would have happened if [Joan] was alive,” she said.
The interview above is almost an hour long, but Melissa starts talking about her mother, Fashion Police and Kathy Griffin at around the 20:24 mark.
And it is straight up, 100% an ad for the Tinder dating app
A couple of weeks ago, we got our first teasery look at Hilary Duff‘s music video for her crazy-infectious new single Sparks. Today we get to see the just-released music video for the song and as you can see above, it’s a mostly fun video that doubles as a promo ad for the Tinder dating app. You may recall that we learned last week that Hilary is filming her Tinder dates for possible use as a dating reality TV show somewhere down the line … which is great, I think. But the fact that she turned her music video into a commercial for the app is pretty disappointing. I love the visuals and I love the song … I wish we could get a version of this video without the bang-you-over-the-head obvious Tinder promo and just enjoy Hilary‘s Sparks music video all by itself. Have a look, see what you think. Do you want to swipe right or left on this Hilary Duff video?
"Isn't it time you discovered 'Hannibal'?"
Thus far we have seen a couple of promo trailers for the forthcoming third season of Hannibal coming to NBC in June (including a pretty sweet promo trailer from Korea) and today … we get to see a new trailer with new season 3 footage. The teaser embedded above features lots of critical acclaim heaped on the show (including a 100% rating from Rotten Tomatoes) as well as a few new scenes from the new season of the show. I am literally counting down the days until Hannibal season 3 premieres on NBC on June 4. I implore you to get caught up and watch this show. Truly, it is one of the best shows on TV right now. Swear.
