"That's the weirdest microphone I ever saw in my life."
Johnny Depp was a presenter at the Hollywood Film Awards in LA, CA last night and as you can see in the video embedded above, homeboy appeared to be a HOT MESS when he took to the stage to introduce the Documentary category. Depp very clearly had to slur his way through his speech and damn near fell over a time or two. It looks to me like Johnny probably had a few too many cocktails in the green room before he went on stage in front of the audience … and multiple cameras. At least he managed to get through his introduction, for the most part, which proves that even as a drunk ass mess, Johnny Depp can still do his job.
Meet the Parents
This weekend, Lifetime will air the much-anticipated biopic made-for-TV movie Aaliyah: Princess of R&B and today, we get a sneak peek from the flick. The video embedded above features the scene in the movie where Aaliyah‘s parents learn that their 15 year old daughter got married to 27 year old R. Kelly. It’s a very dramatic scene … if you can stop looking at the rubber cap that the actor playing R. Kelly is wearing on his head to make him look bald. I don’t know about you but I am really looking forward to watching this movie when it airs on Lifetime tomorrow night. Who’s excited?!
Coming Valentine's Day 2015
Last week we saw a short teaser for the just-released second trailer for the big screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey and today we get to see the whole new trailer in full. As you may recall, the first trailer for Fifty Shades was released back in July and last night, during the broadcast of this week’s ep of Scandal, the second trailer was released. While this new trailer is much sexier than the first trailer, I have to admit that I’m still not all that impressed … particularly since we now know that the movie is going to deny us the whole enchilada (Jamie Dornan‘s enchilada, that is). Have a look at the trailer above and see what you think. Impressed?
The TV Guide
As much as I do not want to admit it out loud, I have to confess that I have not been feeling all that great for the past few days. After over 2 years of not getting sick, I think I’m on the brink of getting sick … and I’m doing everything I can to fight it off. I got an ear ache a few days ago that has been a pain in my ass but, for the most part, it’s been manageable. Yesterday, for the first time, I started feeling flu-like symptoms elsewhere … not bad, but noticeable enough that I can feel it coming. After all the running around I’ve been doing for weeks now, I knew that I had to rest up, stay warm and try and keep things from getting any worse. More »

Coming in 2015
The Divergent movie franchise, which is desperately trying to be the next Hunger Games movie franchise, has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel film The Divergent Series: Insurgent — which will open in theaters on March 20, 2015. Now, I saw Divergent in the movie theater but honestly, I don’t really recall how the movie ended. There was some divergenting going on and then … it ended, or something. This time around, there will be some insurgenting so … get excited … or not, whatever.
Thus far we have seen two really great trailers for The Avengers: Age of Ultron (HERE and HERE) and today, we get to see one more. An extended version of the second trailer has just been released that features a bit of new, previously unreleased footage. If you are anxiously awaiting the release of Ultron, you might want to give this trailer a looksee.
With musical guest Kendrick Lamar
Woody Harrelson, one of the stars of the upcoming sequel film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, is hosting this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live and as you can see in the video promos above, he is not above lampooning the Hunger Games franchise to promote his appearance on SNL … THANK THE GAWDS because Lorde knows we are in desperate need of funny on SNL. These promos give me some hope that this weekend’s ep of SNL will be fun … but I’ve been fooled before by funny promos so … we’ll see. Kendrick Lamar is the musical guest this weekend so, yeah, I’ll be tuning in — will you?
Inspired by female coffee producers in Costa Rica
Alanis Morrissette has released a video for her new song The Morning that was written for a documentary called A Small Section of the World that will open in select theaters and on VOD in December. The Coffee is inspired by the female coffee producers of Costa Rica and features percussion sounds created by Carlos Tapado Vargas utilizing coffee beans and the machinery that is used to make coffee. The project sounds very interesting and as you can hear above, the song sounds classic Alanis. Click the embed above to get your first listen of/look at The Morning.
The video embedded above has been online for a few years now but it’s just now making the rounds again due to its very disturbing nature. When Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope was being filmed, a different voice was used for Darth Vader before James Earl Jones‘s deep, sonorous voice was added. The video above lets you hear what Darth Vader sounds like with his original voice, provided by David Prowse … and it is very unsettling. Ready to have all of your dreams dashed? Click above to hear what Darth Vader really sounds like. I’m so sorry.
