Relive the secondhand embarrassment all over again
Earlier today, Shannon shared some #ThrowbackThursday love for Crime Mob and Knuck If You Buck specifically but right now, I’d like to share some #TBT love myself. It was 10 years ago today that Ashlee Simpson “performed” on Saturday Night Live and got busted trying to lipsync her performance. You may recall that on that fateful night, someone in her camp accidentally started playing the vocal track for her song Pieces of Me when she wasn’t ready and it was plainly obvious to everyone watching on LIVE TV that she had no intention of singing the song live at all. In a panic, Ashlee busted out a silly dance and then she ran off the stage, leaving her band to strum their instruments in embarrassing horror. Ahh, the good ol’ days. Back in 2004, there was no real social media to speak of … can you imagine if Twitter or Instagram existed back then? Click the video above to relive the moment that Ashlee Simpson torpedoed her music career on live TV. Can you believe it’s been 10 years already?
"Fuck yeah give it to me this is heaven"
Last night’s episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show was the part 1 of this year’s 2-part Hallowe’en episode and it featured another musical performance by Jessica Lange. Before the season started, Ryan Murphy teased that Lange would be performing a Lana Del Rey song on the show and last night she delivered a fun performance of LDR‘s song Gods and Monsters. Click the embed above to watch the performance in full and see how fun Jessica‘s performance of Lana‘s song is. I’m loving this gimmick that AHS is doing this year with the musical performances, aren’t you?
As a refresher, HERE is Sarah Paulson‘s performance of Fiona Apple‘s Criminal and HERE is Jessica Lange‘s performance of David Bowie‘s Life on Mars?
An unauthorized leak resulted in the official release
The first trailer for The Avengers: Age of Ultron wasn’t due for official release until next week during the next episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D but earlier today, a low quality version of the trailer leaked online. Marvel immediately sprang into action and tried to get the trailer yanked offline. They realized the cat was already out of the bag so they decided to officially release the trailer early, which you can watch in full above. As far as movie trailers go, this one is effing bad ass. This first look at Ultron is very promising. Have a look above, then click below to see the just released teaser poster for the film as well. More »
Aretha Franklin made herself available to do satellite video interviews with TV outlets all around the country to promote her new album Aretha Franklin Takes on the Great Diva Classics and as you can see in this compilation video montage, she had a bit of difficulty hearing the interviewers on the other end. Ever the consummate pro, Aretha did her legendary best to endure talking to these peons. Trust me, this video will make your day. Please enjoy.

With musical guest Iggy Azalea
Last month we learned that funnyman Jim Carrey would be returning to host Saturday Night Live this season and today we get to see his just-released promo videos for this weekend’s episode of SNL. Jim will be joined by Iggy Azalea as musical guest and because it will be the Hallowe’en episode, it promises to be scary … not funny … mostly because even when they try to be funny, SNL isn’t funny … so I’m thinkin’ they should go for scary.
Strut Your Stuff, Gwen
A few days ago the world was blessed with the first solo song from Gwen Stefani in 6 years and today we get to see the music video for that new song. Just a short time ago, Gwen dropped the music video for Baby Don’t Lie after she previewed the vid on The Voice last night. TRUTH BE TOLD, I’m not at all blown away by this video. It’s colorful, yes, but it’s not really all that interesting. Without the green screen, there’s not much to this video. But, that being said, I really love Baby Don’t Lie the more I hear it and now that Gwen is releasing music videos and is teasing OTHER NEW SONGS, I can’t help but be super excited for what’s to come from Ms. Stefani. What do you think of this music video for Baby Don’t Lie? Do you love it … or nah?
It's easy to see why he got the part
Jason Momoa‘s audition tape for HBO’s Game of Thrones (which has been online for some time now) started making the rounds over the weekend and it’s so intense that I feel compelled to share it with all y’all. For the role of Khal Drogo, Momoa decided to show producers just how well he could play a character that speaks a different language … very forcefully. For the part, Momoa spoke the fictional language of Dothraki but for his audition, Jason busted out a battle cry of the Māori. Check out the video above and see the audition that won Jason Momoa his role on GoT.
"If you really need me ..."
It’s been a few weeks since Ariana Grande released her collab with The Weeknd, Love Me Harder, so it’s about time we get the now-standard lyric video accompaniment. While we wait for the official music video to hit the Internets, let’s bide our time with this just-released lyric video. Do you know all the words yet?
"We ain't doin' no type of stressin'"
The don Fat Joe has released the music video for his new single Stressin’ and as you can hear and see above, the song and video feature the luminous Diva Latina Jennifer Lopez. Joe and J. Lo have collaborated before, to much success, so I’m not at all surprised that the duo have teamed up again for a new track. There’s a deffo early ’00s vibe to the video and I have to say, Fat Joe looks amazing! This is a fun song and a fun video. What do you think?
