“I remember a lot of pain . . . "
For a few weeks now, Bill Cosby has been at the center of a firestorm of controversy in the wake of various women alleging that Cosby had raped them. These rape allegations have existed for years but they’ve recently come to the forefront after a stand up comedian made a joke a few weeks ago referencing the years of Cosby rape allegations. Then, one after the other, women have come forward to tell their stories regarding sexual abuse they say they suffered at the hands of Bill Cosby. Last night, model Janice Dickinson made an appearance on Entertainment Tonight to reveal that she, too, had been raped by Bill Cosby back in 1982. She says he drugged her before he assaulted her … which is something that Cosby used to joke about in his stand up routines. Wow. Netflix announced previously that Bill Cosby would be getting his own comedy special but, in the wake of these rape allegations, they have decided to postpone the special. Cosby, for his part, denies everything. Click below to hear Janice share her story, in her own words. More »
Have Courage and Be Kind
Back in May we got our first tease of the upcoming live-action Disney film Cinderella and yesterday, we got a sneak peek of the film’s first full-length trailer. Today, at last, we get to check out the just-released first trailer and get a really good look at the characters we all know and love as they will appear in this new film adaptation. Disney‘s Cinderella stars Lily James as Ella/Cinderella, Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine/The Evil Step Mother, Game of Thrones star Richard Madden as Prince Charming and Helena Bonham Carter as The Fairy Godmother. It’s a classic tale that we already know, retold for a new audience. The look and color of this trailer reminds me a lot of Mirror Mirror, that horrible retelling of Snow White that came out in 2012 but I’m hopeful that Cinderella will turn out much better. What do you think of this trailer? I love Cate Blanchett as The Evil Step Mother but I totally rolled my eyes at seeing Helena Bonham Carter as The Fairy Godmother. HMMM. Do you love this … or nah?

Everybody Dance Now
The DVD/Blu-Ray version of Guardians of the Galaxy is on the way and in order to inspire sales of the release, Marvel Studios has released a portion of the gag reel that is included on the DVD/Blu-Ray (due out on December 9). Check out the embed above to watch Ronan accept Star-Lord‘s challenge of a winner take all dance-off. Sigh. If only this scene was included in the final version of the film. Sigh.
Back in July we first heard that serious discussions were underway for the production of a Sons Of Anarchy prequel series to occur after the current 7th and final season of the show finishes its run next month. Today we revive those hopes for a SoA prequel series thanks to a new interview with SoA actors Kim Coates and Theo Rossi. The guys appeared on Larry King Now to promote the final episodes of Sons of Anarchy and Larry asked them their thoughts on the possibility of a SoA prequel series. Watch the video above to see what the guys think about a prequel and the possibility that one of them might appear on the show.
Coming March 2015
Back in May we got to see the first teaser trailer for Disney‘s forthcoming live-action feature film Cinderella which is due to open in theaters next March. Today we get to check out a sneak peek at the film’s first, full-length trailer, due to premiere tomorrow on Good Morning America. As you may know, Disney enjoyed much success with their live-action adaptation of Sleeping Beauty (which focused on the Maleficent character) so I’m sure their live-action version of Cinderella will be just as successful — or more. The video above is just a tease but I’m hopeful that the forthcoming full trailer will give us a good look at the movie to come.

Back in March we got our first look at the forthcoming big screen animated film Peanuts, which is due to hit theaters around Xmas time next year. Today, just about a year ahead of the film’s release, we get to see the first full-length trailer for the CGI animated movie. As you can see, Snoopy as The WWII Flying Ace is the star of this first trailer but we do get to see what the Peanuts gang will look like in animated form at the end of this very cute trailer. Part of me still feels a bit weary of a CGI animated Peanuts movie but the spirit of the original version of the characters seems intact. From what I can hear, the character voices sound decent as well so … we’ll see. I’m hopeful this Peanuts movie will be a modern and respectful new incarnation of the characters we love so dearly. What do you think of this first Peanuts trailer?

"Though you're far from me, say you'll BRB"
Mariah Carey is responsible for the single greatest Xmas song written in the past two decades (her massive hit All I Want For Christmas Is You) but there is a NEW Xmas song out this week that just may give Mimi a run for her money. Straight No Chaser teamed up with Kristen Bell for a new song titled Text Me Merry Christmas and as you can hear above in the just-released lyric video, it’s a carol that is very appros for today’s technology-obsessed culture. Have a listen and see what you think, is this new track an Xmas carol for the new era?
Completely unprovoked harassment, slurs and physical assault
Late last month, a video went viral that showed a woman being harassed by men as she walked for 10 hours in silence through the streets of NYC and while the video inspired thoughtful discussion when it was released, the video was then parodied and turned into a joke. Today we get to see a new video (created by DennisCeeTV), shot in a similar way, that shows the mistreatment that a man “dressed as a homosexual” endured after walking the streets of NYC in just 3 hours. As you can see above, the man in the video is verbally harassed, made fun of, has homophobic slurs yelled at him and is physically assaulted by at least one other person. The harassment came from both men and women. Now, of course, this 2 1/2 minute video had to be edited because it’s not 3 hours long but it does give an understanding of what gays endure far too often. I can tell you that I have been on the receiving end of this treatment … sometimes because I was holding hands with my partner or showing affection in public, sometimes just because I, too, was walking silently by myself. If anything videos like this one and the original one might enlighten others as to the way people mistreat others … and hopefully it will inspire you to be a better person. This video is hard to watch (and do yourselves a favor and do not read the comments on the vid’s You Tube page) but it is important to watch.

You know FOR Sure Beyoncé's wedding wasn't this fun
Earlier today we saw photos from Solange‘s beautiful wedding this weekend to Alan Ferguson this weekend but the wedding goodies ain’t done just yet. During the reception, Solange performed a dance routine with her son Daniel Julez to the song No Flex Zone by Rae Sremmurd and wouldn’t you know it … video of the entire dance performance made its way online. Click the embed above to watch Solange and Julez dance to No Flex Zone together and try not to die from all the adorable cuteness. The only think that keeps running through my head is how boring Beyoncé and Jay Z‘s wedding ceremony/reception must’ve been when compared to Solange’s epic night :)
I'm still not convinced
Last last month we got to see the first video promo for NBC‘s upcoming live musical production Peter Pan Live! scheduled to air this holiday season and today we get to hear actress Allison Williams sing as Peter Pan for the first time in this just released new video promo. As you can also see in the video embedded above, Christopher Walken as Captain Hook is utter perfection … but … the more footage I see from this production, the more I’m convinced it’s not the show for me. I love musical theater … but not all musical theater. In any event, I have a feeling this new production of Peter Pan will do well for NBC. Have a look at the video above and see if it looks like something that YOU will want to watch when it airs on NBC on December 4.
