The Disneyland Half Was Full Of Fun

The TV Guide

I was up and out the door super early this morning to run the 10th annual Disneyland Half Marathon. Of the 10 of these races, I have now run 4 of them … and altho I’ve had a blast each time, I think I’m officially finished with this particular race. I really wanted to run the race this year for the 10th anniversary, particularly because of how cool the medal is so I’m really glad that I got ‘er done. The weather was perfect, the course was fun and I really enjoyed myself from start to finish. BUT, now that I’ve run the race 4 years in a row, I think it’s time for me to focus on other races from here on out. I can honestly say that today’s race was a great way to end my run if Disneyland Half Marathon races :D More »

A Very Enchanting Disneyland 10K Run

The TV Guide

With the first of three races under my belt, I was able to enjoy a very fun day with my friends at Disneyland yesterday after we ran the 10th anniversary Disneyland 5K earlier in the day. Ashley, Jesse and I reconvened at Disney California Adventure for an afternoon together where we celebrated our successful run that day and generally enjoyed one another’s company. I got to spend some time with a couple of other friends, Michelle and Joey, in Disneyland before I called it an early night last night. Then, I was up not so bright and very early to run the Disneyland 10K this morning. Double the length of the 5K race, the 10K run today was double the fun :) More »

The Sons Of Anakin Conquer The Disneyland 5K

The TV Guide

Last night, I met up with my Sons of Anakin compatriots Ashely and Jesse at the Run Disney Health Expo at the Disneyland Hotel to pick up our race materials for the 10th anniversary Disneyland 5K race that took place earlier this year. Today’s race was Ashely and Jesse’s first Disney race so I was very happy to be able to run it with them. We hung out for a bit last night, carbo loaded and got as much sleep as we could before we met up again at the starting line this morning. The race was really fun, Ashley and Jesse did very well and I am very happy to say that I have another Disneyland 5K medal to add to my growing collection. More »

Off To Never Land

The TV Guide

Earlier this morning, at about 3:30 AM, I woke from my restful slumber to get dressed and ready to run the Never Land 5K race at Disneyland today … and boy am I tired. Well, not really, but I am tiny bit beat. I had almost forgotten that I signed up to run this 5K race at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure but, thankfully, they’re really good about sending email reminders. The Tinkerbell 10K and Half Marathon are also taking place this weekend but this time, I only wanted to run the 5K … and I’m glad that I did because it was a lot of fun. More »

Running The Strip

The TV Guide

Earlier this morning, I was up bright and early to make my way to West Hollywood, CA so that I could run the inaugural Sunset Strip Half Marathon. As I had hoped, the race was a really great one with a mostly excellent course and lots of great perks. I really love West Hollywood so it was a real treat to run the streets of WeHo, with particular focus on the Sunset Strip, early this morning. There were a few things that really did suck about the race but all in all, it was a really fun experience overall. More »

Movie Review: ‘Cinderella’, ‘Transformers: The Movie’ & ‘GI Joe: The Movie’ Double Feature

The TV Guide

My Saturday was packed full with really fun stuff to do with really great people. In the morning, I was invited to attend an early screening of Cinderella at the El Capitan Theater so I asked my Disney friend Elena to attend with me. We had a very nice movie date together. Later in the day, I met up with Adriana again for a fun movie double feature of the 1986 animated film Transformers: The Movie and the 1987 animated film GI Joe: The Movie at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. THEN, I had to be up and at Knott’s Berry Farm early this morning to run the Coaster Run 10K race. So, yeah, busy but fun! More »

I’m With Cupid

The TV Guide

For Valentine’s Day yesterday I decided to distract myself by running a fun underwear race called Cupid’s Undie Run here in LA to raise money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation which ended up raising over $3 million dollars nationally for the charity (my dear friends helped me raise $255 in just a few hours). The gimmick is meant to be fun for people in the rest of the country to run a short race in their underwear in the bitter, freezing cold. Here in LA, it was 82 degrees and hot so it was actually a relief to run in my underwear :) After I rested a bit and got cleaned up, I met up with Tamar for a fun little dinner date and that was my day. Chillin’ With Duke

The TV Guide

Last night I got to spend some amazing quality time with my new little homie Duke Julian and his parents Emma and Josh for the first time since I met the little man about an hour after he was born last Sunday. Truth be told, I’ve been itching to see Duke again since his birth day last weekend but it took all of my strength to just sit back and wait a few days until the newly expanded family got settled back home. Yesterday was Josh’s birthday so it was the perfect excuse to see my friend for his birthday … and then ignore him so I could fawn all over his adorable baby son. More »

One More Disneyland Half

The TV Guide

This September, Disneyland will be hosting the 10th anniversary of the Disneyland Half Marathon shortly after the theme park celebrates its 60th anniversary and yesterday, registration for the Disneyland Half went on sale. Because of all the anniversary fun going on this year, I happily signed up to run my 4th Disneyland Half Marathon in a row … but it will likely be my last. I’m not giving up running half marathon races (yet) but the insane cost of running these races at Disney is starting to get out of hand. Actually, the cost of these races has been out of hand for some time now but for me, I think I’ve reached my limit. I’m very much looking forward to running the Disneyland Half again later this year as I know it will be a very special anniversary run … but the more I think about it, the more I realize it’s probably time to stop spending so much money on running races at Disney. Run Surf City

The TV Guide

Early yesterday morning, I made my way down to Huntington Beach, CA to run my third Surf City Half Marathon in as many years and I’m happy to relay that it was one of my better half marathon runs. The Surf City race is one of my fave races of the year because nothing beats running along the Pacific Ocean in February in the most beautiful weather you will ever experience. After the race, I made my home for a bit of rest before I made my way to Caleb and Ollie’s place for their annual Super Bowl party. After that, Tamar and I enjoyed a lovely sushi dinner at Sugarfish and that, my friends, was the wrap on a really great Sunday. More »
