Birthday Lurve for the Ginger Prince
Prince Harry — more formerly known as Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales — turns 30 years old today and in celebration of his special day, I have culled together a collection of photos that take us on a trip through his 3 decades of life. Altho his older brother Prince William has always been higher than Harry in the British royal line of succession (as is William‘s son Prince George and will be his forthcoming second child, due to be born next year), there is no doubt that Harry is the funner prince of the British royal family. A philanthropist, a military man, a party animal … Prince Harry is many things. Altho he has made some dumb mistakes in his past, Prince Harry has always been my fave British royal so I’m happy to send him all the Birthday Lurve today to his royal gingerness today. Happy 30th Birthday, Harry. Here’s to at least 30 more!
Royal Bump Watch, 2014
We are all waking up to some very big news from the Royal family! Another bump watch is beginning, as Princess Kate and Prince William are expecting their second child. You may remember Vanity Fair celebrated Royal Baby Prince George’s first birthday back in July with a family cover—well, it sounds like Kate was just a few weeks shy of conceiving the second baby when that issue came out. This is definitely exciting news, though I was also feeling sympathetic, as the Duchess of Cambridge is—once again—afflicted with severe morning sickness. Click inside for more.
Last week we got to see a new official photo of Prince George Alexander Louis of Wales which was released ahead of the baby prince’s first birthday. Today, Prince George turns 1 year old and in honor of that fact, more photos of George and his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton have been released as well. It’s crazy to think that Prince George was born a year ago today … it’s insane how quickly time flies. Click below and let’s send all of our birthday lurve to the future king of England today! More »
During the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace in London, England this week, Queen Elizabeth‘s royal guard gave folks a bit of a treat when they delivered a surprise performance of the Game of Thrones theme song. Now, we’ve seen really cool covers of the GoT theme song over the past year or so (like HERE, for example) but I believe this is the first cover with an actual royal connection. We know that Queen Elizabeth is a GoT fan so, yeah, this makes sense … and sounds really, freaking cool.
Happy 1st Birthday, future King of England
Back in March, we got our first look at young Prince George posing for his first official family photo with his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton ahead of the baby prince’s first royal engagement in New Zealand. Today we get to see Prince George‘s newest official photo, released by the British royal family to mark the baby’s 1st birthday. As you can see below, Prince George is walking in this new official photo … but as you may recall, we learned last month that he’s already been walking for some time now ;) Click below to see George‘s new photo and let’s wish the little dude an early very Happy 1st Birthday! The Baby Prince's First Year
Way back in April, Prince George appeared on his first magazine cover ever. Today we get our first look at Prince George‘s second magazine cover, this time for Vanity Fair magazine. In honor of George‘s first birthday, VF has decided that the cover feature story for the August issue will focus on the baby prince’s first year alive. Click below to see George (and his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton) on the cover of Vanity Fair and read some excerpts from the cover story. More »
But did she sit on the Iron Throne?
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, II and hubby Prince Philip made their way to Belfast in Northern Ireland today to pay a visit to the set of HBO‘s hit drama series Game of Thrones. I guess the Queen was in the neighborhood and she figured, Meh, why not? Once on set, Queen Elizabeth met some of the show’s actors — including Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Rose Leslie (Ygritte), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) — and was presented with the famed Iron Throne. Click below to see a few photos of the Queen‘s visit to the GoT set and find out if Her Royalness actually sat on the Iron Throne. More »
The future King of England gets to steppin'
Back in April we learned that Prince George, the only child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, participated in his first royal engagement … the very same month that 8-month old George got his first airbrushed magazine cover. Today we learn that the future king enjoyed another first this weekend as he took his first public steps at a charity polo match on Father’s Day yesterday. Prince George and mama Kate were at the match to support Prince Wills who participated in the game and as you can see below, George decided to go for a bit of a stroll on his own two feet. So cute!! Becomes the highest ranking Royal to tweet
Yesterday we learned that Morrissey started tweeting and today, not to be outdone, we learn that Prince Harry has started tweeting, too. Harry posted his first tweet ever earlier this morning on the official Twitter profile for the Invictus Games in London in an effort to inspire ticket sales that will benefit one of Harry‘s favorite charities Wounded Warriors. Prince Harry is now the senior most member of the British royal family to use Twitter. Altho this tweet might be a one time thing, it is possible that this might actually be the start of other British royal tweets to come. More »
