Some Assembly Required
The cast and crew of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, along with many other luminaries from the Marvel Cinematic and Television Universe convened at The Dolby Theater in Hollywood, CA last night for a massive premiere event. As you can see in the gallery presented here, all of the main stars of The Avengers were in attendance along with actors from other Marvel Studios movies and television shows … as well as iconic director Joss Whedon and the truly legendary Stan Lee. It was a big ol’ party for everyone involved. Click through the gallery to see photos from the red carpet arrivals as well as a few photos from the after-part that, I understand, ran well into the night/wee hours of the morning. The countdown for the theatrical release of Age of Ultron has officially begun. Very soon, we will all be able to see one of the most anticipated movies of 2015.

Don’t you dare judge me for being unable to talk about anything other than Mad Men stuff today. Don’t you DARE. In a few hours I’ll be glued to my TV and I won’t even be functional, so please don’t call me, and please enjoy this gallery of some beautiful looks from Christina Hendricks, Elisabeth Moss, and some of my other faves.
Her first public post-surgery appearance
Last week, Angelina Jolie bravely shared with the world her decision to have preemptive surgery to have her ovaries removed in order to reduce her cancer risk. Last night, she made her way to The Forum here in the Los Angeles area to attend the 2015 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards with her daughters Zahara Marley and Shiloh Nouvel as her dates. I guess the “story” is that yesterday’s event was Angelina‘s first public event since she underwent her surgery but for me, the real story is that she enjoyed a really fun outing with her children. Look at the ecstatic joy on her daughters’ faces when Angelina won her Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Villain for her starring role in Maleficent. It’s insane how big her daughters have gotten but it’s really, really amazing to see them looking so well … and so happy and proud of their mom. Check out the photos in this gallery, I promise that they will brighten up your day.

The final episodes are DAYS away!!!
The other day my BFF called me with some major, life-changing, friendship-solidifying news: she had finally started watching Mad Men. I could finally… trust her as a human being again, and it felt so good. And now, we can weep together as the incredible AMC drama comes to an end. The final half-season premieres on April 5, and nobody—except for maybe my BFF Michelle—better call me. Some members of the cast attended a special New York screening at the Museum of Modern Art last night, and you’ll want to see how amazing they looked (#TeamMoss). God, I am really going to miss seeing Christina Hendricks in all of the dresses. Peep the gallery for more!

"If we let the gov't start to legislate love in our lifetime, who do you think is next?"
Scandal star Kerry Washington was awarded the Vanguard Award at the GLAAD Media Awards here in Los Angeles, CA last night and she delivered a stirring and very powerful acceptance speech on the support of same-sex marriage in this country. At one point, in particular, she spoke directly to “Black people today [that tell her] that they don’t ‘believe’ in gay marriage” to make a poignant point about “legislating love” … she said:
So when black people today tell me that they don’t ‘believe’ in gay marriage (pause), the first thing that I say is please don’t let anybody try to get you to vote against your own best interests by feeding you messages of hate. And then I say, you know people used to say stuff like that about you and your love. And if we let the government start to legislate love in our lifetime, who do you think is next? We can’t say that we believe in each others’ fundamental humanity and then turn a blind eye to the reality of each others existence and the truth of each others hearts. We must be allies. And we must be allies in this business because to be represented is to be humanized. And as long as anyone, anywhere is being made to feel less human, our very definition of humanity is at stake and we are all vulnerable.
Thank you, Kerry. Very well said. After you click through the gallery presented here to see photos from last night’s GLAAD event, click below to watch Kerry Washington deliver her Vanguard Award acceptance speech in full and be inspired. More »
Or maybe a cockatoo, I'm not sure
A who’s who of fashionistas attended the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition at Victoria & Albert Museum in London, England and surely the attendee who stole the show and all the attention last night was FKA twigs. twigs, as you can see in the gallery presented here, wore a very colorful Birds of a Feather dress that made her stand out in every way possible. There are few people who can make a look like this work without looking silly and twigs is absolutely one of the lucky few. Her beauty is matched by her fierce ability to make an outlandish look like this seem perfectly normal. I love everything about FKA twigs in these photos. LOVE!
The Hollywood Ball
The cast and crew of the new Disney live-action film version of Cinderella made their way to the El Capitan Theater for the Hollywood premiere of the film, which opens on March 13. Lily James looked stunning in her beautiful dress and her Prince Charming, Richard Madden, looked quite dashing. Cate Blanchett is a goddess and even Grumpy Cat came out for the premiere event. Check out the photos, see how much fun was had at last nights Hollywood Ball for Cinderella and save the date, March 13 is the day that we will all get to see Cinderella come to life on the big screen.
