Confirmed: Jessica Lange Will Appear On ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’

Reports of her 'AHS' retirement have been greatly exaggerated are complete b.s.

Back in October of 2013, Jessica Lange revealed to the world her desire to “retire” from acting and give up her lead role on the FX drama American Horror Story. Then, we learned out that her retirement from acting wouldn’t be absolute, that she would take on acting roles that appealed to her from time to time. Then, we found out that Jessica has teamed up with AHS creator Ryan Murphy for a Broadway show. Then, we found out that Jessica has decided to remain open to appearing on AHS again. Today we learn that she will definitely be appearing in the new season of the show, American Horror Story: Hotel. The official Facebook page for the show made the announcement that Lange will be “checking in” this season … which really means that she never really retired from the show after all. More »

First Look: Showtime Releases A First Trailer For ‘Homeland’ Season 5

Carrie on
"I was CIA, I'm a private citizen now"

Last month, we got to see the first teaser video for the forthcoming 5th season of Homeland on Showtime which gave us a tiny taste of the changes coming to the storyline. Today we get to see the first, full-length trailer for Homeland season 5 and as you can see above, it gives us a very good understanding of what we can expect from the forthcoming season. The new season picks up 2 years after the end of season 4 and it will focus initially on ex-CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) working as a private citizen in Berlin, Germany. As you can see above, Carrie‘s past catches up with her and forces her into an incredibly complicated situation that will force her back into the life she thought she left behind. I like this trailer. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the course of the new season based on the teaser we saw last month but I am impressed by how things are clarified in this new trailer. Homeland season 5 premieres on Showtime on October 7. I am so in, are you?

New Concept Art Reveals The Opposing Superhero Teams In ‘Captain America: Civil War’

Captain America vs. Iron Man

Last weekend we learned that filming production of the forthcoming superhero sequel film Captain America: Civil War had wrapped when photos from the film’s wrap party made their way online. Today we learn a bit more about the Civil War storyline as it will be featured in next year’s film. In the comic book story, the legion of Marvel Comics superheroes were divided into two opposing camps with Captain America leading a group of heroes on one side and Iron Man leading the other group of heroes on the other side (the factions are divided over a move by the US government to force superheroes to register with the government or face punishment). Obviously, the story in the movie version won’t be as grand but today we learn which heroes will fall on which side of the factions. New concept art from Civil War has surfaced that show us who will be on Team Captain America and who will be on Team Iron Man. Click below to see the assembled superhero teams. More »

Banksy Unveils A New Art Exhibit Called Dismaland, An Entire 2.5 Acre Dystopian ‘Bemusement Park’

The Crappiest Place on Earth

Back in the Fall of 2013, UK street artist Banksy orchestrated a month-long art residency in the city of NYC, NY where he unveiled a new art piece/installation every single day for 30 days straight. The residency was so popular that it was turned into a brilliant documentary film titled Banksy Does New York. Today we learn that Banksy has produced a new art exhibit in the UK by transforming an abandoned vacation resort called the Tropicana into a 2.5 acre, life-size amusement park called Dismaland. The exhibit/installation will be open to the public for 5 weeks only (it opens officially to the public on August 22) and will feature artwork not only by Banksy but by other artists like Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer, Jimmy Cauty and others. Banksy describes his “bemusement park” as a “family theme park unsuitable for children”. The photos gathered in this gallery were shot by Christopher Jobson for Collossal and give us a pretty good feel for what attendees will see on display when this exhibit opens to the public. HERE is the official site for Dismaland which offers official information about how folks can secure the very in-demand tickets to visit, as well as official promo photos for the exhibit as provided by Banksy. I am absolutely crushed that there is no way that I can fly out to the UK to see this exhibit in person because I am obsessed with the idea of this show. Dismaland may be the Crappiest Place on Earth but it looks like a really amazing place for art fans … street or otherwise.
