Madonna Will Release The ‘MDNA’ World Tour On DVD Next Month

September 10

Back in June, Madonna attended a premiere event in NYC for the EPIX broadcast of her hugely successful MDNA World Tour. Today we learn that the show will be released on DVD/Blue-Ray on September 10 and we get our first look at the cover art for the release. Those of you who attended the concert tour last year know that the MDNA show is pretty spectacular so having the opportunity to watch the show whenever you like at home is a very attractive one. I don’t have EPIX so I haven’t seen the show since Maddy performed here in California last year … so I am really looking forward to the release of the MDNA World Tour DVD next month :) More »

‘The Smurfs 2′ Premieres In Hollywood

Britney Spears Was There ... with some other people

Yesterday our dear Britney Spears shared a photo that she took with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James right before they attended the Hollywood premiere of The Smurfs 2 at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, CA and today, much to my shock, we learn that there were OTHER people in attendance at the premiere event yesterday as well. It turns out that the actors who appear in the film (Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays) along with various other celebrities (songwriter Bonnie McKee, randomly Larry Birkhead) were also in attendance at The Smurfs 2 premiere so … I figured it’d be worthwhile to share some photos from the event. Click thru the gallery to see how cute Britney and her boys were on the blue carpet yesterday see who else came out for the premiere. It looks like everyone had a Smurftastic time!

Super Friends, Together At Last

San Diego Comic-Con is the place where pretty amazing news breaks … and yesterday, some pretty effing amazing news was announced that will change the lives of comic book fans FOREVER! After a series of very successful movies based on Batman and a series of successful movies based on Superman, the decision has finally been made to made a movie where Batman and Superman will appear in the same film. For a while now, we’ve been hearing that DC Comics is looking for a way to make a Justice League movie (much like Marvel Comics did with their superhero group movie The Avengers) and it looks like this planned Superman/Batman movie will be the first step in that direction. No title has been announced and no plot details have yet been revealed but it was suggested that the movie was inspired by Frank Miller‘s graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns. AHHH. The Waxed Members Of One Direction Have Been Unveiled In NYC

On Tour

Back in April we saw photos from the unveiling of the wax versions of One Direction at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London and today we learn that the waxed 1D likenesses have made their way to NYC for their unveiling there. As I understand it, the statues were meant to be unveiled in an outside display but the joint heat of the member of One Direction coupled with the insane heat in NYC this week caused the unveiling to be moved inside the venue. As we learned back in April, the 1D likenesses will be touring the world for the rest of the year but from now until October, the statues will be on display at the Madame Tussauds in NYC … and, be honest, you know you want a selfie with the British boyband boys :) More »

From William Shakespeare and Julian Fellowes

Last week we got our first look at Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad as Romeo and Juliet on Broadway and today we get to see actors Douglas Booth and Hailee Steinfeld as the star cross’d lovers as they will appear in the new film version of the tale, aptly titled Romeo & Juliet. Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes adapted the play by William Shakespeare for this new film which also stars Paul Giamatti (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Damien Lewis (Homeland) and Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl) … which sounds like very interesting casting. Nine Inch Nails Releases 4 Different Album Covers For ‘Hesitation Marks’

Take Your Pick

Back in early June we got to see what we thought was the cover artwork for the new Nine Inch Nails album Hesitation Marks, due out on September 23, but today we learn that there are actually 4 other covers that will be made available for the album. The digital version, the CD version, the deluxe CD version and the vinyl version of the album will each feature its own cover art, created by artist Russell Mills (the man who created the album artwork for the 1994 NIN masterpiece album The Downward Spiral). Depending on the version of the album you purchase, you will get a different cover … which likely means that rabid NIN fans will end up collecting all 4 versions of the album (ahem, which is prolly what I will do). Click below to see each of the album covers and learn about the inspiration and creation of each piece of artwork. More »
