The Walt Disney Company Buys Lucasfilm For $4.05 Billion

A New 'Star Wars' Film Is Due Out in 2015

So, the really big news today came late in the day when it was announced that the Walt Disney Company had purchased Lucasfilm for a little over $4 billion dollars. Lucasfilm, which was founded by George Lucas, is the home of the Star Wars films (and everything associated with Star Wars), the Indiana Jones films, the 80′s classic film Labyrinth and much, much more. And as if that news alone wasn’t big enough, we also learn today that a 7th Star Wars film will be released in 2015! As you may recall, Disney purchased the Marvel Comics company back in 2010 and then The Jim Henson Company as well. With Lucasfilm in their possession, Disney know owns pretty much all of the most popular characters that exist in modern popular culture … and they managed to buy the company for a “measly” $4 billion! If you consider that they paid $7 billion for Pixar, it’s easy to see how they managed to “steal” Lucasfilm. First Look: Ke$ha Releases The Cover Artwork For Her New Album ‘Warrior’

Popstar Ke$ha, the current covergirl on Billboard magazine, gave us the first listen of her new single Die Young late last month. As you may recall, we also got to see the artwork for the single. Today we get our first look at the cover art for her sophomore album Warrior, which is due out on December 4th. When I first saw her coverphoto on Billboard magazine, I commented on how cleaned up Ke$ha looks … I’m sorry to see that her new “cleaner” look is not featured on her album cover. Madonna Gets Waxed In Las Vegas

Next week, Madonna will bring her MDNA World Tour to Las Vegas, NV and to celebrate her arrival, Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum inside The Venetian Hotel and Casino has unveiled a new wax likeness of the Material Girl. Maddy is the latest celeb to be immortalized in wax by Madam Tussaud’s in Las Vegas and you can see photos of this stunning new tribute below. In recent years, Madam Tussaud’s has really upped their game with the unveiling of eerily lifelike wax statues of celebs and this new statue of Madonna is no exception. The First Batch Of New ‘Jem And The Holograms’ Dolls Is On The Way

Back in July we got our first look at the new line of dolls based on the 80′s cartoon Jem and the Holograms. Today we get our first look at the first set of dolls from the new line. The Hollywood Jem doll we saw in July was a limited edition doll that was only offered for sale at San Diego Comic Con, this new batch of dolls will be made available for sale to a wider group of collectors. Great news for fans of Kelly Clarkson today … homegirl has announced that she will be releasing her first greatest hits album next month. Titled Greatest Hits – Chapter 1, Kelly is making it crystal clear that she intends to release future greatest hits compilation albums … a sign that she is planning a long and successful music career. In addition to a collection of Kelly‘s already released hit songs, she will also include on this new compilation 3 new songs including a new single titled Catch My Breath (due out next week). John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John Team Up For A New Xmas Album

Welp, it looks like this coming Xmas is going to be a lot brighter (possibly) and a lot cheesier (definitely) because today we learn that former co-stars and apparent current BFFs Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta have teamed up to record a new holiday album titled This Christmas. According to the press release issued today, John and Olivia decided to celebrate the “season of giving” by releasing an album that would raise money for their respective charities — The Jett Travolta Foundation (created in honor of John‘s late son) and The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre. Not only will we get an album full of songs sung by John and Olivia but they are joined on the album by guest performers like Barbra Streisand, Kenny G, Tony Bennett, James Taylor and more! Lifetime TV Announces The Season 2 Cast Of ‘Project Runway All Stars’

As the current season of Project Runway winds down, Lifetime TV is announcing the forthcoming second season of Project Runway All Stars (previously titled Project Runway: All-Star Challenge). As they did the first time around, Lifetime has gathered together a pretty fun group of former PR contestants who want a second chance at victorious glory. As you may know, Mondo returned for the first All Star challenge and finally won (as he should’ve during his original season). This time around, a group of 13 former contestants are going to give it another shot … including beloved contestants like Uli, Andre, Anthony Ryan, Kayne. It has been over 7 months since the world tragically lost Whitney Houston and, sadly, many of us are still not over the loss. As you may know, Whitney‘s mother Cissy Houston is writing a book about her late daughter and the Grammy Museum here in LA devoted an entire exhibit to Whitney. But it’s her music that will stand as the most effective tribute to her memory. On November 13, RCA Records is releasing a new Greatest Hits collection titled I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston that will collect, for the first time ever, many of Whitney‘s biggest and best loved hits on one disc. Rihanna Releases The Artwork For Her New Single ‘Diamonds’

Last week we learned from Rihanna herself that she will be releasing new music this week. Today we get our first look at the artwork for Ri Ri‘s new single Diamonds which will debut worldwide this Wednesday morning. Diamonds will be the first single from Rihanna‘s forthcoming 7th album and, as I understand it, the track is a very upbeat song. As you can see from the single art below, Rihanna appears to be very addicted to diamonds … and she seems to be telling us that we may become addicted to her new song Diamonds. It’s Official! Nicki Minaj And Keith Urban Join Mariah Carey And Randy Jackson As ‘American Idol’ Judges

Back in July we learned that popstar Mariah Carey was officially signed as a new judge on the forthcoming season of American Idol. In the weeks that followed, there was much discussion about who would join her at the judges table. It was immediately reported that longtime original judge Randy Jackson would be demoted from judge to mentor so that the 3 judging spots could be filled with new judges. Nicki Minaj was a name we heard soon after as a potential new judge but her endorsement deal with Pepsi held up her signing because AI is sponsored by Coca Cola. Then we heard that Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias were being considered as judges but talks with Enrique fell apart. Today we learn, officially, that the cola conflict has been settled and Nicki has signed on as AI judge. Joining her and Mariah at the table will be Keith Urban and … original judge Randy Jackson (who got the 4th judging seat due to the failed deal with Enrique).
