It’s Official! Kelly Rowland & Paulina Rubio Join ‘The X Factor’ Season 3

Yesterday we learned that singers Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio were in talks to join the forthcoming 3rd season of The X Factor as new judges and today we learn that they have officially signed on to the show. Show creator Simon Cowell will be joined by returning judge Demi Lovato as well as Kelly and Paulina on the judges panel in an effort to revitalize the not-very-successful singing competition show. As you may recall, our dear Britney Spears was brought on board last year to give the show new life … a plan that had marginal success. Will the addition of Kelly and Paulina do enough to save the show? HMMM. More »

Kiefer Sutherland Signs On For A 12 Episode Limited Season Of ’24′

There has been a LOT of exciting talk in the past few days about the reported television return of the beloved action/drama series 24, starring Kiefer Sutherland as CTU agent/superhero Jack Bauer … and today we learn some really great OFFICIAL NEWS. It was suggested that 24 might return as a limited, 13 episode series IF Sutherland agreed to reprise his role. Fox has announced today, officially, that Kiefer has signed on to play Jack Bauer again in a new version of 24 that will feature only 13 episodes. The show will be titled 24: Live Another Day. According to the press release, which you can read in full below, the show will feature 24 hours of action in a compressed 13-episode timeframe. HMMM. More »

Madonna’s ‘MDNA’ World Tour Will Air On EPIX Next Month

Earlier this month we learned that Madonna is planning the release of a concert DVD for her hugely successful 2012 MDNA World Tour with the leaking of the tour backdrop video for her performance of Gang Bang. Today we learn that before Maddy releases her tour DVD, the entire show will air first exclusively on the cable network Epix. You may recall that Epix was the network that secured the broadcast rights for Britney Spears‘s Femme Fatale Tour so it makes sense that the network would also want to secure the rights to air Madonna‘s tour as well. Justin Timberlake Reveals The Release Date For ‘The 20/20 Experience’ Part 2

Back in March ?uestlove accidentally (on purpose?) spilled the beans that Justin Timberlake was planning to release a second album later this year as a part 2 of his newly released album The 20/20 Experience. You may recall that ?uest said the album would be out in November. Justin Timberlake himself confirmed the release of a second album by posting a photo of its release date on his official Twitter profile last night. We won’t have to wait until November to hear it, it’ll be out a few months earlier. Additionally, JT is announcing today that he is going on a World Tour this Fall all by himself … that is, after he goes on tour with Jay-Z this summer. ‘Thor: The Dark World’ Releases A First Teaser Poster

Thor: The Dark World is set to debut in theaters in November but today we get our first look at the just-released teaser poster for the sequel film. Following up the first Thor film and then The Avengers, The Dark World will pick up the action that will take place in Iron Man 3, which hits theaters next month. I understand the first teaser trailer for this new sequel film will be released next week but for now, we can sate our excitement on this teaser poster and the press release cited below. More »

Nine Inch Nails Drummer Ilan Rubin Is Readying The Release Of A New EP Album

Earlier this year we learned that Nine Inch Nails is coming back to the concert performance stage later in the year and even tho there has yet to be an official announcement about new music (outside of the two new songs Trent Reznor promises for the upcoming tour), I think many fans are hopeful that we will get to hear new NIN stuff soon. In the meantime, NIN drummer Ilan Rubin is hard at work on the release of a new album by his solo project The New Regime. A new album titled Exhibit A will be released next month and today we get to hear the first single from the album, a track titled Daydream. Britney Spears Reveals That She Has Recorded A Song For ‘The Smurfs 2′

Back in late January we learned from our dear Britney Spears herself that she had recorded a song for her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. At the time, it wasn’t immediately clear what the song was or when it would be released. Some speculated that it might be a song featured on her upcoming 8th album, others surmised that it might be a song recorded for a kids show, like Sesame Street. Today we learn straight from the horse’s mouth that the song will be featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming animated sequel film The Smurfs 2. Industrial Band Skinny Puppy Is BACK With A New Album Titled ‘Weapon’

Old school industrial fans will be happy to learn that Skinny Puppy will be releasing a new album next month on Metropolis Records titled Weapon. I’ve been a Skinny Puppy fan for years so I’m really looking forward to the release of this new album. I’m also very happy to share information about the album’s release as quoted in the press release below. The release was accompanied by a new Skinny Puppy promo photo which was photographed by my good friend Emilie Elizabeth and her collaborator John Kraw. Emilie‘s photos are fantastic, I can see why Skinny Puppy would want to work with her. NBC Announces That Jimmy Fallon Will Replace Jay Leno On ‘The Tonight Show’

Welp, it’s official, y’all. For weeks now there has been lots of chatter going around suggesting that Jimmy Fallon would be replacing Jay Leno as the host of The Tonight Show … and just this morning, NBC confirmed the rumors as true. Leno will leave the show in 2014 and Fallon will step in as the new host! To be honest, I don’t watch late night TV talk shows at all but … I greatly approve of this deal. Jimmy Fallon is amazingly talented (as evidenced by his fun week with Justin Timberlake) and I think he will make a great host on The Tonight Show. I’m also not sad to see Jay Leno go away so … it’s a win/win! More »
