First Look: NBC Releases A First Poster For ‘Hannibal’ Season 2

The Series Returns in February

Back in February we got our first look at NBC‘s prequel series Hannibal which focuses on the character of Dr. Hannibal Lecter (pre-Silence of the Lambs) and his budding relationship with FBI investigator Will Graham. As soon as the show debuted, I fell in LOVE not only with actors Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy‘s portrayals of the characters they play (Lecter and Graham respectively) but also with the beautiful way the very dark and violent series was presented. Today we learn that the second season of Hannibal is set to debut on NBC in February AND we get to feast our eyes on the first poster released for the show. Check it out below. More »

Watch: A Trailer For ‘Lizzie Borden Took An Ax’ Starring Christina Ricci Has Been Released

"She gave her mother 40 whacks ..."
"... she gave her father 41"

Back in June we learned that actress Christina Ricci was cast as the infamous Lizzie Borden in a made-for-TV Lifetime movie set to air in 2014. Today we get our first look at Lizzie Borden Took An Ax, the biopic film that is set for release on January 25. It’s unclear from the trailer how the story of Lizzie Borden‘s life will be told (ie. in a truthful manner or a sensationalistic manner) but it does look like this Lifetime movie may be bloodier than most. Hmmm. Have a look at this just-released trailer and see if it interests you enough to watch Lizzie Borden Took An Ax on Lifetime next month.

Madonna Attends Daughter Lourdes’s High School Production Of ‘Grease’

See Rizzo in Action!

In early November we learned that Madonna‘s eldest child, Lourdes Maria, would be playing the role of Rizzo in her high school production of the musical Grease. Today we get to see photos of Lola on stage in character as Rizzo on the show’s opening night as well as photos of Madonna waiting by the backstage door after the performance was concluded. It would appear that the acting bug has been passed from mother to daughter … let’s just hope that Lola has more success in the acting world than her mother ;) Click below to see photos and read deets about last night’s performance of Grease. Watch: Lana Del Rey Officially Releases Her Short Film ‘Tropico’

Saints & Sinners, Gods & Idols
"And John said, 'Let There Be Light'"

Lana Del Rey has finally unleashed upon the world her much talked about/ballyhooed/anticipated short film Tropico online after she premiered the film at an event in Los Angeles, CA last night. The film has a run time of just over 27 minutes and is … well, interesting. The scenes look like they were shot using Instagram filters and opens with cameo appearances by Jesus Christ, John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Lana in the guise of the Virgin Mary (which isn’t the only religious figure she portrays in this film) … then the really weird (artsy) stuff begins to unfold. If you have the time, it’s worth watching I think. I mean, Hello, we’ve been hearing about this damn Tropico thing for what seems like an eternity so now that it’s out, we might as well see what all the hoopla is about. Along with the premiere of this short film, Lana has announced that she is readying the release of her next album. Click below to find out more about her new music to come. More »

Watch: Netflix Will Release ‘House Of Cards’ Season 2 On Valentine’s Day

Save the Date
Happy Valentine's Day <3

After a hugely successful debut season on Netflix, the brilliantly engaging political drama series House of Cards will return for its second season on February 14, 2014. As you may recall, House of Cards became the first series ever to be nominated for a major award at the Emmy Awards without having ever aired a single episode on television … in September, it won an Emmys for directing, casting and cinematography. Now that the series is returning for a second season, I’m sure it will make every attempt to surpass the success of the first season. Click the video embed above to watch the just-released teaser trailer for House of Cards season 2 then click below to read a portion of the press released issued by Netflix regarding the return of HoC. HBO Releases A First Promo Poster For ‘Girls’ Season 3

"Happily Whatever After"

Last month we got to see the first trailer for the forthcoming 3rd season of the HBO series Girls and today we get to see the first promo poster released for the new season of the show. As you may know, Girls follows the exploits of a group of twenty-something hipster girls living in Brooklyn, NY and while I found the show pretty entertaining the first season, I wasn’t too crazy with the second season of the show. The trailer we saw last month looked interesting enough for me to tune in when the new season of Girls debuts next month but I’m not sure the poster featured below adds to that interest. Still, for the sake of completion … have a look below and see if the poster successfully works its charm on you. More »

Watch: Lars Von Triers Releases An Extremely NSFW Movie Trailer For ‘Nymphomaniac’

No, Seriously ... this trailer is NSFW
It's about to get REALLY NSFW around here

Back in August of 2012, we first heard that pre-production and early casting talk was underway for director Lars von Triers‘s new film Nymphomaniac when Shia LaBeouf‘s name was attached to the project. This past July, we got to see a NSFW still from the movie that features Shia and it became clear that the movie was going to be, well, full of nekkidness. Today we get to see the first official trailer for Nymphomaniac and as I’m sure you can guess, the NSFW video features a lot of nudity which isn’t really appropriate watching in a lot of settings … but hey, it’s Friday, maybe we can use a bit of spice. Click the embed above to have a look at this trailer according to your best judgement. I’m not sure that the quick scenes presented in this trailer give a great feel for the plot of the film but you deffo get a feel for the eroticness in store when Nymphomaniac hits theaters.

A Practically Perfect Evening Ahead

The TV Guide

So, yeah, I realize that the site doesn’t look as BEAUTIFUL as it usually does today. We are having technical difficulties where images are concerned. BUT, I’ve just received word that the problem has been fixed and the images should start loading properly now — which is a huge relief. Much love goes out to the tech team that has been working on this all morning. Now Shannon and I can get down to our usual business. Last night was a REALLY quiet night for me. I had planned on going to a friend’s party but I started to feel unwell by late afternoon and after I rested for a bit, I really didn’t feel great enough to leave the house. I’m bummed I missed the party but I am feeling much better today … which is good news because I have a couple of FUN things lined up for tonight. First, Ollie and I are going to a screening of Mary Poppins at the El Capitan Theater (yes, the original film). Then, later on, I’ll be seeing Ollie/Hustle Roses perform a quick show in Hollywood. It shall be an amazing night! More »
