“The Past Can’t Be Washed Away”
Back in April we learned that the 4th and final season of The Killing (formerly on AMC) will premiere this August on Netflix when the season’s first teaser trailer was released. Today we get to check out the just released first poster for The Killing season 4. As you can see below, Sarah Linden (played by Mireille Enos) is front and center in this new poster with the tagline that reads, The Past Can’t Be Washed Away. AHHH! After I binge-watched the entire series a few months ago, I became a rabid fan of the show. Check out the poster and get excited with me! The Killing season 4 will be released one month from today! The TV Guide
Yesterday was a chiiiiiiiiiiiill day for me here at home. So much so that I only left the house once to run a quick errand. I managed to get some things done around the house but for the most part, I did pretty much nothing at all … except watch movies. Because I don’t have any TV shows to binge-watch right now and there aren’t a lot of summer TV shows that I’m obsessed with, my DVR is sorely empty these days. As such, I tend to watch movies on the various cable networks. The best thing about watching movies on cable all day is that you never know which old school movies will show up, reminding you of how awesome those movies were back in the day. For the first time in over 10 years, I rewatched Swimfan (2002) and Coyote Ugly (2000) and I’m the better for it. More »

The Gotham Gang's All Here
Last week we got to see a neat villain-centric promo video for the forthcoming Batman prequel series Gotham which will debut on Fox this fall. Today, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly magazine, we get to see a just-released batch of character posters for the show. All of the main characters that we’ve seen before are represented, both good and bad. All in all, these character photos look great but we do learn that some liberty is being taken with the Batman canon. The young Poison Ivy character is named Ivy Pepper on this show when her name should be Pamela Isley. I suspect there will be other changes from the Batman canon but I’m all for it. A new version of Batman for a new series. Gotham will premiere on Fox later this year.

Thus far we’ve seen a couple of really fun domestic movie trailers for the new Marvel Comics superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy HERE and HERE but today, we get to see a super serious international movie trailer for the film released in the UK. As you can see in the video embedded above, this serious trailer changes the whole tone of the movie from a silly, free-wheeling flick to a — well, more serious film. This movie is going to rule, I’m telling your right now. Check out this international trailer above and then click below to see the just-released full collection of Guardians of the Galaxy characters posters. More »
The promo push for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has hit the streets as new street art-inspired posters continue to pop up all over the place. TMNT will open in theaters on August 8 and to get the “cool kids” to take notice of this movie, a batch of new movie posters have hit the streets. Personally, I’m looking forward to the release of TMNT out of curiosity’s sake so I’ll check this movie out in theaters. These graphic movie posters are a nice touch, I think. We’ll see if they are able to generate ticket sales at the box office.
Back in February we got our first look at the first poster released for the upcoming Marvel Comics movie Guardians of the Galaxy, in May we got to see poster #2. Today we get our first look at the first of a new series of character posters which will each highlight a different character … or characters. The poster you can see in full below features Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) and is probably the coolest poster ever made of a raccoon shooting a gun and a giant walking tree man. "Bigger, Bolder ..."
Back in March we learned that the sequel TV movie Sharknado 2: The Second One will premiere on SyFy on July 31. Today we get our first look at the just-released teaser trailer for the made-for-TV movie. I mean, it looks pretty much like you’d expect it to so … enjoy :D
The 30th Anniversary
In honor of the 30th anniversary of the release of Ghostbusters in theaters this weekend back in 1984, we learn today that the film will be re-released in theaters this August to mark the occasion. As I understand it, there will be quite a few 30th anniversary celebrations for Ghostbusters this year and this theatrical release is but one of many. On August 29, Ghostbusters will open in over 700 theaters around the country so … who you gonna call? More »

Earlier today we got to see the first poster released for the 7th and final season of True Blood, which will premiere on HBO on June 27, and right now … we get to see a few more posters for the show. A whole batch of promo posters were just released for True Blood season 7, all of them lamenting the end of the show. Next month, we get one more season of True Blood. It’s probably best to savor it while we can.

In Living Color
Back in March we got our first look at the first trailer for the forthcoming big screen adaptation of the novel The Giver by Lois Lowry. Today we get to see a batch of just-released character posters for the movie. All of the major actors are represented — Brenton Thwaites, Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgård, Cameron Monaghan, Odeya Rush and Taylor Swift — each with their own quote. I know that many people found the trailer for The Giver a bit disappointing since it makes the movie look nothing like the world described in the book … so I’m curious to hear what people think of these posters. I’m really curious to see The Giver but I know right now, the movie will never be able to equal the power of the original book. I think if people see the movie with this in mind, they may enjoy the feature film more than they anticipate.
