Showtime announced today that the upcoming 4th season of their hit drama Homeland will premiere on Sunday October 5 at 9PM ET/PT and along with premiere date announcement, the network has also released the first trailer for the new season. As you may know, this new season of Homeland will be the first of the series after the death of the Nicholas Brody character (played by Damian Lewis) so the show will head off into a new direction. Click the embed above to get your first look at what’s to come in the new season of Homeland and see what you think. As long as Clarie Danes‘s character Carrie Mathison figures out a way to ugly-cry at least a few times this season, I’m totally find with the new direction of Homeland.

Last month we learned that stage and television actor Andrew Rannells has been selected to take over the lead role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch when Neil Patrick Harris leaves the show next month. Today we get our first look at Rannells as he will look as Hedwig in the hit Broadway show. NPH, as you may know, won the Tony Award for his performance in Hedwig but I have every confidence that Andrew will do an excellent job putting his own spin on the character when he takes over Hedwig and the Angry Inch next month. The Devil may be in the details
Way back in October of 2012 we got our first look at actor Daniel Radcliffe in character in the upcoming new movie Horns, based on the 2010 novel of the same name by author Joe Hill (son of Stephen King). Today we get to see DanRad in action in Horns in the just-leaked first trailer for the movie. Horns tells the tale of a young man who wakes up one day with horns growing out of his head and the fallout that he experiences when the public assumes he is guilty of murder. It’s a compelling, interesting and novel story. I know we are supposed to be disconcerted by the sight of Daniel with massive horns growing out of his skull but I’m more weirded out by the fact that he is speaking with an American accent in this trailer. Creepy. Click the embed above to see the trailer then click below to see the first official movie poster for Horns. More »

The return of all of your FAVE SHOWS!
Earlier today we learned that Warner Bros. is really excited to promote their TV shows at San Diego Comic-Con by teaming up with TV Guide for a bunch of magazine covers. Fox is also very excited to promote their TV shows at SDCC but they are doing so with promo posters. Click thru the gallery to see new posters for many of your fave Fox TV shows including The Simpsons, The Following, Sleepy Hollow … plus a few NEW shows that look promising — like Gotham and Wayward Pines (from executive producer M. Night Shyamalan). There is also a poster for the Simpsons/Family Guy cross over episode that will air this coming season so … start clicking!
"When did he stop treating you like a princess?"
An artist named Saint Hoax has created a series of posters titled Happy Never After that feature Disney Princesses to call attention to domestic violence. By using characters that are beloved by all (and recognized by very young girls), the intent is to encourage victims of abuse to come forward and report the crimes to authorities. Says Saint Hoax,
An awareness campaign targeting any girl / woman who has been subject to domestic violence. The aim of the poster series is to encourage victims to report their cases in order for the authorities to prevent it from happening again.
I must admit that I was really jarred the first time I saw these images, which is the point. They make powerful statements and, hopefully, they might encourage victims to come forward. I have a feeling not everyone will like this campaign but I’m impressed. What do you think of this Happy Never After campaign?
"The Past Can't Be Washed Away"
With mere weeks left before the 4th and final season of The Killing is released on Netflix, we are getting a lot of promo materials from the show. Thus far, we’ve gotten a promo poster for The Killing as well as the first trailer for the upcoming final season. Today we get to check out a pair of just-released character photos that feature lead characters Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) and Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) lookin’ all moody and stuff. I’m so anxious to see this new season and this continued promo push is just amping up my excitement! More »

Art by Maria Bayley
So, pretty much everyone kinda loves those cute and adorable Disney Princesses and most people also love the hit Netflix series Orange is the new Black … so how amazing is it that a clever artist decided to mash-up some of our favorite Disney Princesses (plus one Disney Prince and one Disney Villain) with the characters of Orange is the new Black for a fun collection of posters. An artist named Maria Bayley came up with the brilliant idea to use Arial, Snow White, Rapunzel, etc. and mash them up with Piper, Taystee, Alex, etc. for this set of Disney/OITNB posters. I love them all! I think you will, too. Check ‘em out!
“The Past Can’t Be Washed Away”
Back in April we learned that the 4th and final season of The Killing (formerly on AMC) will premiere this August on Netflix when the season’s first teaser trailer was released. Today we get to check out the just released first poster for The Killing season 4. As you can see below, Sarah Linden (played by Mireille Enos) is front and center in this new poster with the tagline that reads, The Past Can’t Be Washed Away. AHHH! After I binge-watched the entire series a few months ago, I became a rabid fan of the show. Check out the poster and get excited with me! The Killing season 4 will be released one month from today! The TV Guide
Yesterday was a chiiiiiiiiiiiill day for me here at home. So much so that I only left the house once to run a quick errand. I managed to get some things done around the house but for the most part, I did pretty much nothing at all … except watch movies. Because I don’t have any TV shows to binge-watch right now and there aren’t a lot of summer TV shows that I’m obsessed with, my DVR is sorely empty these days. As such, I tend to watch movies on the various cable networks. The best thing about watching movies on cable all day is that you never know which old school movies will show up, reminding you of how awesome those movies were back in the day. For the first time in over 10 years, I rewatched Swimfan (2002) and Coyote Ugly (2000) and I’m the better for it. More »

The Gotham Gang's All Here
Last week we got to see a neat villain-centric promo video for the forthcoming Batman prequel series Gotham which will debut on Fox this fall. Today, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly magazine, we get to see a just-released batch of character posters for the show. All of the main characters that we’ve seen before are represented, both good and bad. All in all, these character photos look great but we do learn that some liberty is being taken with the Batman canon. The young Poison Ivy character is named Ivy Pepper on this show when her name should be Pamela Isley. I suspect there will be other changes from the Batman canon but I’m all for it. A new version of Batman for a new series. Gotham will premiere on Fox later this year.
