"So you want to dance with the devil?"
Back in May, we got our first look at Ryan Murphy‘s new TV series Scream Queens and my first impression was that the new series looked very much like other things had had been released before (Pretty Little Liars, Scream) and failed to immediately impress me. Even still, I couldn’t help but be intrigued by the show when the promo for Scream Queens started amping up over the summer. Before last night’s series premiere, I ready mostly great reviews for the show and couldn’t wait to see for myself. I am very relived to say that the Scream Queens pilot episode far exceeded my expectations and actually turned out to be wholly satisfying and very funny. I admit I wasn’t really jazzed on the news that Ariana Grande had been cast on the show but I can honestly say, she had the best scene in the entire episode … which you can watch in full below. Plus, check out 2 more movie posters
Earlier this month we got to see the US trailer for the forthcoming movie adaptation of William Shakespeare‘s Macbeth, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. A few days later, we got to see a pair of regal posters for the film. Today we not only get to see actual footage from the movie but we also get another pair of movie posters. The central focus of both the video clip and the posters is the Weird Sisters who reveal the central prophesy to Macbeth in the story. “What's done cannot be undone.”
Last week we got to see the US trailer for the new feature film version of William Shakespeare‘s Macbeth, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, just a few months after we got to see the first UK trailer back in June. As you may have noted, I am EXTREMELY excited for the release of this new Macbeth film because A.) Macbeth is my all-time favorite Shakespeare play and B.) Cotillard and Fassbender are two of my fave actors right now. Today we get to see new poster artwork for Macbeth that further shows us how insanely cool this new adaptation of the film will be. Based on the trailers alone, I’m sold … but the posters released thus far are another nice way to promote what is sure to be an excellent film. Have a look. More »
Evil Takes Many Forms
An indie horror movie titled The Witch made waves at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, causing quite a bit of conversation about how scary it was. Today we get our first look at The Witch in the just-released movie trailer embedded above. Set in colonial New England, The Witch seemingly tells a tale that we are already familiar with … but, as the first trailer above shows, in a very disturbing way. I’ve heard really great things about the movie, yes, but must admit that this first trailer is creepily unsettling but not nearly as terrifying as I’ve heard. My guess is that the filmmakers don’t want to give anything away before people can see the film. Check out the trailer above to get your first look at The Witch then click below to see the film’s poster artwork … More »

A damn fine first promo photo
After the public negotiations drama that erupted earlier this year over whether or not director David Lynch would return to helm the much-anticipated Twin Peaks limited sequel series on Showtime, we get our first bit of new information which reminds us that the project is still headed our way. Showtime updated their official Facebook profile with a first promo image for the new Twin Peaks series that brilliantly and mysteriously promotes the show’s return in a subtle and fitting way. Everyone knows that you have to go to Twin Peaks to get a “damn fine cup of coffee” so it makes sense that the first promo image for the sequel series is cleverly coffee-related. More »

"The only way out ..."
Last week we got our first look at the first video teaser for the upcoming 5th season of Homeland on Showtime. Today we get to see the first poster released for the new season. As you can see below, Claire Danes‘s character Carrie Matheson looks serious af as she looks back at something … or someone. At first glance, the poster looks reminiscent of the promo art we used to get for 24 when it was still on TV. I guess the show can be considered an action series even tho it relies heavily on drama. Perhaps this poster is meant to signal that the series will bee more action-oriented when it returns in early October. More »
