It’s Mother’s Day y’all! So I’m up early to share some pop culture awesomeness with you real quick before I get ready to sit down and do absolutely nothing for the rest of the day, lol! Yesterday on Jezebel I came across this great story of a photographer mom who was having a difficult time planning out the perfect photo for her daughter’s fifth birthday. Her issue kind of works with a recent discussion we had about Disney princesses and what kind of messages they can send to young girls (and, well, everyone else) sometimes. She noticed that most ideas pertaining to little girls dressing up and taking pictures were centered around a princess theme, so she decided to go a slightly different route. So, I gotta admit, I’m a newbie Kate Moss fan. I know she’s been around since forever, but her most recent fashion shoots have been totally blowing me away. The Vanity Fair spread, Interview Magazine with Naomi Campbell, and that absolutely gorgeous Vogue Spain shoot– gahhh! She reigns. And I was really excited to see that she and Joan Smalls (my personal fave) were teaming up in a new Versace campaign, alongside Ukrainian Canadian model Daria Werbowy. The last time we saw makeup work this stunning, we were checking out an amazing beauty spread in Elle Vietnam. Well, the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam has officially caught my attention with this brilliant new spread, featuring the photography of  Zhang Jingna and the amazing work of hair stylist Linh Nguyen and makeup artist Roshar. I absolutely love the artistry of the spread; the Renaissance-inspired looks work so well with that bold eye makeup. These are certainly not every-day looks I’d want to imitate, but as works of art, I think the photos are beautiful, compelling… and even a bit haunting. Love it! Peep the gallery for more!

Look, y’all. I don’t know who this woman is (it’s Michella Cruz), and I don’t know where she came from (Brazil), but she kinda just changed my life. Michella just got a spread in GQ Russia and the black and white photos (taken by René Habermacher) are absolutely stunning. I can’t stand when people say that someone oozes sexuality (oozes is a terrible word)… but this woman oozes sexuality! Look at her face! I’m going into the bathroom right now and I’m not coming out until I’ve perfected that facial expression. See y’all tomorrow. Oh, and peep the gallery for more! Jared Leto Shows Off His Scary Skinny, Starved Body

We’ve seen Jared Leto in drag and we’ve seen him without eyebrows but we have yet to see the most shocking image of the transformation he’s undergone for his new film Dallas Buyers Club. As you may know, Leto plays an HIV positive transsexual in the film and he has had to make some changes to his body for the role. Kate was also in a raunchy shoot with Rihanna, and now we’ve got more topless Kate for Interview Magazine (Germany and Russia editions). Kate is joined by old friend and colleague, Naomi Campbell, and the two look… well… twenty. Which is awesome for them, lol! A while back when Joan Smalls was named the number one model in the fashion industry, Arizona Muse was right up there with her, landing a spot in the top five. I haven’t paid attention to a whole lot of her work, but today I saw a photo shoot that caught my eye and I just had to share. Arizona (who was born in the state for which she’s named, raised in New Mexico, and now lives in London with her son) is rocking the cover of i-D Magazine and her spread is kind of awesome. One of the readers on Fashion Gone Rogue sees a serious Janelle Monaé connection (I do too), but I’m really just loving this sort of androgynous look on Arizona. The model is wearing Celine, Marc Jacobs, Jean Paul Gaultier, and a few other designers as well. The hair, the jackets, the friggen eye make-up— I love it all! Peep the gallery for more!

Whaaaaaaat am I looking at right now, y’all? OMG! Okay. So I was just minding my own business working on my Beyoncé post, and I noticed that the Hallowe’en photo she shared kinda looked like a Terry Richardson pic, so I innocently jumped on his Tumblr to confirm or deny my suspicions. Everything was fine at first. You know, NBA baller Carmelo Anthony, Carmelo Anthony with some chick who wasn’t Lala, Carmelo lookin’ sexy in a black tank (thank you Terry), Carmelo lookin’ equally sexy in a white tank, some modelin’chick… the President of the United States of America. Wait. Whaaaaat?!?! I nearly lost my mind when I saw Angela friggen Lansbury had been all up in the Terry Richardson studio!  Then it was Oprah! Now Barack Obama?! OMG. That’s it. I can’t. The Terry Richardson take over is official y’all, and I don’t know what this means for the universe. But I’m very interested in hearing what y’all think about Obama posing for him. I’m assuming those who lurve our POTUS will only lurve him more, and those who hate are gonna keep on hating. Personally, I’m just in a state of shock. Between this and the Jelena break-up (which I’m more torn up about than I’ll ever be able to fully let on), I’m having the weirdest Saturday ever, lol! But, I’m not gonna front… I kinda love these pics! Years ago when the show Glee first premiered I remember calling my bff the next day to find out what she thought about it.  She said something I’ll never forget: “I just wish (dramatic pause) that there was no such thing as hype.” Whatever Glee had been hyped up to be (the greatest show on Earth, perhaps), it wasn’t that. It wasn’t bad at all, but sooo much hype had rendered it a disappointment, probably before it even aired! For months and months I’ve been ignoring new it model Kate Upton (although I did sneak her into a gallery a little while back) because of the hype. It was just too much! Plus I think she was, like, the new girl in school that eeeeevvvvverrrybody was talking about and I just didn’t want to be so cliché, lol. Anyhoo. It’s over for that now. Nobody thought this girl was gonna go high fashion and here she is with her first Vogue cover (Vogue Italia‘s November issue), photographed by the insanely talented Steven Meisel. Also, she was getting so much hateration at Fashion Gone Rogue I started to feel like she was an underdog or something, lol. Peep the gallery and share your thoughts! If you ever caught the E! reality show Mrs. Eastwood & Company, then you probably remember Tyler Shields, the drama-inducing boyfriend of Clint Eastwood‘s daughter Francesca. I caught a few of the episodes when it was on and Tyler was really the controversial character… I was not a huge fan. Reality TV personality aside, he’s also a talented photographer (we’ve seen plenty of his work with Lindsay Lohan) and a huge fan of one of my favorite shows, Revenge. Tyler has been sharing some ah-mazing photo shoots of the Revenge cast on his official website for the past few months and I had to show y’all some of these images. It’s just crazy fun to see these characters getting  reimagined in cool ways. And although he’s done the ‘gun’ thing before, I think it was an appropriate prop,  given the revenge-y characters he was working with. Tyler‘s Chromatic series is esepecially impressive, as it renders many of our fave people totally unrecognizable. I love it! And I think all of you who’ve been joining me in the Revenge recaps will love it too. Peep the gallery for more!
