Mark Xs The Spot

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a fun day for me. I got to hang out with Tamar and Ollie last evening and then with my friend Mark last night. Tam and Ollie came over to my place to check it out and I’m happy to report that they approve of my new digs. I think I finally got the place up to snuff so that I can have people over to see it so I was happy to host Tam and Ollie as my first guests. After I gave them a tour of my apartment, I showed them the building’s amenities (the roof, the pool, etc.) and they seemed to love it all. After our quick little hang sesh at my place, I met up with my friend Mark at the Cha Cha Lounge for a couple of beers and some food truck eats. It was only the best way to end my day. More »

An Evening With Tori Amos & Tash

The TV Guide

Sarah and Mark’s first full day here in LA was a great one! The two of them met up with Adriana for a day at the beach and then we all convened at my place to get ready for a fun night ahead. We enjoyed a great dinner at Mess Hall in Los Feliz before Sarah and I made our way to the Greek Theater to see Tori Amos in concert. Aide and Mark spent the evening at the Griffith Observatory. Afterward, we all met up at the Red Lion Tavern in Silverlake for a nightcap … and then we went across the street to the Cha Cha Lounge for a photobooth shoot. We like fun! More »

The Cast Of ‘Clueless’ Reunited In LA Last Night

The TV Guide

A few days ago I heard that the Film Independent’s Los Angeles Film Festival would be hosting a screening of the 1995 film Clueless at LA Live in downtown LA … which would feature appearances by some of the film’s stars. Because Clueless is one of my all-time favorite films (along with Empire Records and The Craft), I knew that I had to attend this screening. Eileen and I made our way downtown in time to see Clueless stars Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash and Elisa Donovan introduce the movie alongside director Amy Heckerling. I can’t even tell you how much fun the screening was for Eileen and me. Not only did we get to see Clueless in an open air setting but we got to enjoy the movie with the film’s stars and a huge group of Clueless fans. So fun!! The gallery above features professional photos shot at the event and you can see my personal photos below. More »

The Nicks Of Time

The TV Guide

Last night I got to meet up and hang out with my friend Mark (aka Marky Nicks, yo) who is visiting LA from Berlin (and who I hung out with last week at the Asher Roth cd release party at the Troubadour last week) and I am happy to report that we had a nice late night hang session. Mark is a skateboarder so he’s been really busy all over town skating and filming for work so I was really happy that he was able to hang out one more time before he jets off to NYC for his next assignment. We met up for a late night drink at Mohawk Bend in Echo Park and finally got some quality time to catch up with one another. More »

Movie Review: ‘Nebraska’

The TV Guide

Last night I hung out with my friend Eileen and we decided to go out and enjoy a fun movie date together. Because she and I have seen pretty much everything that there is to see in theaters right now, it was difficult for us to find a movie that we both hadn’t seen. We opted for Nebraska because even tho we weren’t all that excited to see the movie, we had heard enough good things about the film to give it a shot. All in all, we both enjoyed the movie but … it is deffo not a film that you want to see if you’re lookin’ to be cheered up. More »

ShibuYAY!

The TV Guide

Yay! Yesterday was Day 1 of our visit here to Tokyo, Japan and LAWD did we pack a lot in on our first day. We decided that we wanted to make our way to the Mori Art Museum and maybe do a little bit of shopping along the course of our 3 mile walk. Once we made it to Harajuku, shopping took precedence and a few hours later we made it to the museum … then more fun shopping in Shibuya. I’m not even kidding you … I love ever single thing I see. Our first day here in the city was a delight … and we’ve only just begun! Click below to see some photos from our Xmas Eve in Japan and read about some of our fun. More »

Heaven Is A Band On Earth

The TV Guide

Last night I met up with Ollie for a single drink in Echo Park which turned into a few drinks which turned into a 3 band concert which turned into a late night meet up with Amelia which turned into a really late night meal on the sidewalk next to a food truck. I wanted to see Ollie for one last hang before I leave for my trip but I didn’t anticipate that it would turn into a whole night extravaganza. That being said, we had a lot of fun all night long and made for an epic last solo hang for us in 2013 :D More »

Notorious

The TV Guide

Last night I met up with my dear Adriana for dinner in Echo Park, CA so that we could catch up and gush over our upcoming trip to Tokyo. We met up at Mohawk Blend for some good eats and we stuffed our faces sufficiently for the rest of the night. As luck would have it, the Echo Park eatery has an old-timey black and white photobooth and because Aide and I are both such big fans of photobooths, we spent quite a bit of time snapping strips of pics. Some of the photos are better than others but all in all, I think we took some fun snaps. More »

Date Night With Tamar

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a really fun day for me cuz I got to spend most of it with my friend Tamar. Long before her birthday last weekend, I managed to score sweet tickets to see Carly Rae Jepsen in concert at the Greek Theater and because I know how much Tam loves her song Call Me Maybe, I thought it would be fun to surprise her with a LIVE performance of the song … er, and a few other songs ;) Tam didn’t know what we were doing until I picked her up last night and I happy to say that we had a really fun night together :) More »

Celebrating Tamar

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a very long and very fun day for me. I spanned the distance from Hawai’i (kinda sorta) to Hollywood and managed to have fun all along the way. I started my day in San Diego, CA where I ran the Aloha Run race in the early morning then passed thru Manhattan Beach to have a late breakfast with Emma and Josh before meeting up with my friend Edward for brunch at Fred Segal in West Hollywood. I was able to rest for a few before I ventured out to do a bit of fun shopping before I made my way to the Roosevelt Hotel to celebrate Tamar’s 30th birthday (which is actually tomorrow but we like to party early around here). Tam’s party stretched well into the early AM … basically leading up to my having to wake up today and work. See? Long, fun day :) More »
