A 'conscious uncoupling'
In sad and somewhat surprising break up news, we learn today that Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin have decided to end their 11 year marriage in what they are referring to as an “conscious uncoupling”. Gwyneth posted a message on her official GOOP website that explains to the world that she and Chris have decided to separate after “working hard” for over a year at salvaging their relationship. While their marriage is ending, she says, the couple are now “closer than … ever”. HMMM. I guess sometimes the best thing for a couple that loves one another is to break up. I TOTALLY CALLED IT!!!
A week ago today we learned from American Horror Story writer Douglas Petrie that the upcoming 4th season of the show would be set in a carnival. At the time, Petrie claimed that no official title for the season had been selected but I guessed in THIS POST RIGHT HERE that the new season might be titled American Horror Story: Freak Show. Just a short time ago, AHS creator Ryan Murphy confirmed my guess on his official Twitter profile. More »
"All lives are lost"
Sad news coming out of Kuala Lumpur just moments ago as Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced to the world that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has been determined to be officially lost. Citing special satellite data, Razak revealed that the official determination is that Flight 370 “ended in the Southern Indian Ocean” with families reportedly being informed that “all lives are lost”. As you may recall, there was a glimmer of hope last week that plane wreckage was possibly found but that glimmer faded away (as did subsequent possible wreckage sightings) as the search turned up no sign of plane debris. Honestly, even tho this final determination is not too surprising, it is still very sad to know that all 239 lives have been lost. Click below to watch video of Malaysian PM Najib Rezak making this sad announcement a short time ago. More »
"[I]t was ... entirely our idea to do it"
As soon as Vogue released the April cover of their magazine with Kanye West and his babymama fiancée earlier today, the backlash has been pretty swift against Vogue‘s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. For years, it was fairly common knowledge that Wintour purposely did whatever she could to keep Kanye‘s fiancée off the cover of her magazine. It’s possible that Anna merely had a change of heart or she could’ve been convinced by someone to finally cave in but whatever the case may be, Wintour‘s official stance on the KimYe cover comes in the form of the issue’s editor’s letter. Click below to read an excerpt of Anna Wintour‘s editor’s letter in the April issue where she defends Vogue‘s decision to put KimYe on the cover. More »
20 Years Later
Several rolls of undeveloped film have been found among evidence collected from the Kurt Cobain death investigation that took place 20 years ago way back in 1994. When news of this undeveloped film and the unseen photos it contained began to spread, rumors started to swirl that the police investigation into Cobain‘s death might be reopened. Seattle Police have decided to release two previously unseen photos from the Cobain death scene but they are making it very clear that the investigation into his death has NOT been reopened. Click below to see the photos from Kurt Cobain‘s death investigation, which remains case closed. More »

"Telling you something that has broken my heart"
Very, very sad news to pass along today … legendary BFFs Cher and Bob Mackie, who have been collaborating on fabulous costumes and fashions since 1972, are dunzo. Finit. Caput. Cher, as you may know, is heading out on a new concert tour this year called the Dressed to Kill Tour which she says will be her last, ever. She tells us that she reached out to Mackie as she has for the past 42 years to have him design the costumes for her tour and he flat out refused to work with her due to, he says, other obligations. Cher shared the sad news on her official Twitter profile yesterday and Bob Mackie issued a statement in response. Click below to read what she said/he said about the pair’s professional split. More »

"I've been beating myself up all day"
During the worldwide telecast of the 2014 Academy Awards on Sunday night, John Travolta made an embarrassing faux pas when he inexplicably introduced singer Idina Menzel as Adele Dazim. Since then, the Internet has run wild with stuff like a Twitter account for @AdeleDazim and a Travoltified Name Generator (my Travoltified name is Theo Rodrayguns). Idina‘s name was even changed to Adele Dazim in the Playbill for her current Broadway musical If/Then! Today we learn that John has issued a public apology for his Oscar blunder, an apology that you can read in full below. More »
"I cannot take this anymore."
As some of you may be WELL aware, there is a new mobile video game called Flappy Bird that has taken the world by storm … primarily because of how difficult the game is to play and how angry that makes most users. The deceptively simple game is notoriously difficult to master and that, I think, is why everyone loves to “hate” it. Just moments ago, the creator of Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, announced on his official Twitter profile that he is taking the game down tomorrow. It’s unclear what “taking the game down” means exactly but it sounds like the creator is ready to end the staggering success he has enjoyed in a very short time with Flappy Bird. Read his tweet messages below and see exactly what he has to say about the future of Flappy Bird. More »

The TV Guide
As a lifelong fan of the Olympic Games, I have been struggling with my feelings over the 2014 Winter Games which has just opened in Sochi, Russia. I remember being SO excited back in 2010 when the Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia passed the Olympic Flame to Russia for the 2014 Games. Since that time, tho, Russia has instituted the legalized mistreatment of gays and lesbians in their country … which has soured me considerably on being excited for the Olympic Games in Sochi. Even last night, I mentioned my struggles at being excited for the Games in Russia. But, after spending more time thinking about it and after hearing the opinion of others (including PITNB reader Bee), I’ve come to realize that I can still be excited about the Olympic Games and I can still support the athletes who are living their dreams by competing in the Sochi Games without endorsing in anyway Russia’s horrible mistreatment of its own people. After all, my dear friend Nicole has a brother who is competing in the Sochi Games and he *just* marched into the Olympic Stadium with the Team USA delegation. That is something I can be more than excited about … and excited I will be. More »
