"My style does not fit with the creative direction of the show"
It looks like the fallout from the offensive comments made by co-host Giuliana Rancic about Zendaya‘s hair on the E! show Fashion Police continues to wreak havoc for the show because late last night night, new co-host Kathy Griffin went and quit the show. Kathy posted a lengthy message on her official Twitter profile outlining her reasons for quitting the show just about two weeks after fellow co-host Kelly Osbourne quit the show. Kathy, as you may know, was brought on as a host of Fashion Police to replace the late Joan Rivers who passed away last year. But after only 7 episodes as new co-host, Kathy has decided to leave the show because, she says, she does not what her “comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference“. Click below to read Kathy‘s full statement and a follow-up statement released by E! confirming Griffin‘s departure. More »
"I take great exception to US Weekly rushing to assume who this aforementioned post was directed towards"
A few days ago, Shirley Manson posted on her personal Facebook page an open letter addressed to “He who shall remain nameless” and proceeded to share her personal feelings about an interaction that she had with a very opinionated person in the days prior. Shirley never named a name but she was very free with her honest feelings about the person. She ended the Facebook post with the closing “Go F#ck Yourself” aimed at the nameless person she was addressing. Someone as Us Weekly caught wind of this post and published an article claiming Manson told Kanye West to “go f#ck yourself”. Today, Shirley felt compelled to post a follow-up open letter on her Facebook page addressed to Us Weekly that calls them out on their completely erroneous assumption that she was talking about Kanye West originally … and now it’s a big ol’ annoying mess. "And you know I'll be hilarious"
Bill Cosby released a public video message today on Good Morning America for the first time since he was slapped with numerous rape and assault allegations from different women who claim Cosby abused them over a 30+ year span. GMA was more than happy to air the video message you can see below of a jubilant Cosby attempting to show his fans that he is “far from over”. The video message isn’t made directly to viewers of the video, instead the video shows Cosby trying to woo attendees to his remaining live comedy tour dates on the telephone. It’s an odd video to release, especially in the wake of the horrid allegations, as if he is completely unbothered by the claims. Watch the video below and see what Bill Cosby has to say to the world in the wake of being accused by numerous women of rape and/or assault. More »

And her apology video only made it worse
Guys. There is actually a teeny bit of vomit in my throat right now. But I’m gonna go ahead and keep writing for now. With my mouth clamped shut. Okay. Michelle Rodriguez has become another celebrity to fall prey to the random, TMZ street interview. I don’t get it. Why do people open up to the TMZ “reporters”?! Don’t you know they are there for one reason—to get you to say something stupid, for which you’ll have to apologize the next day? Well, I watched the video in which Rodriguez scoffed at “minorities” in Hollywood trying to “stealing all the white superhero roles.” She actually seemed kinda drunk to me, and I was hoping that was the case—that she wasn’t serious. I even laughed, because it sounded SO ignorant. Then came the “apology” video… in which she went on to blame “minorities” for being “lazy.” OMG. I flash backed to my interview with Spike Lee (yasss), where he made it very clear that the only problem blacks in Hollywood are having is money—funding for their projects. Of which there is often none, or very little. Anyway, click inside for this ridiculous, embarrassing shit.

"This film is a homage to the original creators of the Power Rangers"
Earlier this week, a fan short film homage to The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers was released by director Joseph Kahn and producer Adi Shankar and immediately delighted Power Rangers fans around the world. The next day, we learned that Saban Entertainment, the company that owns the Power Rangers characters, got pissed off by the fan film and started to get the video yanked offline by claiming copyright infringement. Vimeo was the first to cave and then, ultimately, You Tube caved as well. The video was taken off both video streaming sites even tho the short film Power/Rangers does NOT infringe on Saban‘s copyrights. Today we learn from Adi Shankar that he plans to keep fighting for his beloved short film and has teamed up with Facebook to keep the film online. Click below to read Shankar‘s updated statement about this on-going battle over Power/Rangers and watch the short film in a new Facebook hosted embed. More »

A pathetic statement, I might add
For whatever inexplicable reason, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences decided not to include the late Joan Rivers in the In Memoriam tribute that aired during the telecast of The Academy Awards on Sunday night. As soon as the tribute was shown, a great many people took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at the blatant omission. In response to the angry outcry, the Academy released an official statement that is so pitifully short that it’s almost not worth mentioning. Considering Joan’s long career in entertainment, including her appearance in more than a dozen films over a thirty year period (including Spaceballs, Rabbit Test’ and the documentary film A Piece of Work, to name but three), one would think that the simple mention of her name during the Oscar In Memoriam tribute might be warranted. Cosby "applauds" his decision not to
Last weekend, Eddie Murphy returned to the Saturday Night Live stage for the first time in over 30 years to participate in SNL‘s massive 40th anniversary special. As you may recall, those of you who watched, Eddie‘s appearance on the special was super short, not at all funny and severely lacking in … everything. Today we learn from former SNL castmember Norm Macdonald (who also appeared on the SNL40 special) that Eddie was supposed to do a skit lampooning Bill Cosby and, for whatever reason, decided not to do the skit … or anything else. Norm explained what was supposed to happen in a long series of tweets. Cosby caught wind of Murphy‘s decision not to make fun of him on SNL and issued an official statement applauding Eddie‘s decision … which, suddenly, makes applause feel dirty and tarnished. More »
