So … let me tell you about my night last night. I have been to my fair share of Prince concerts over the years and I am planning to attend many more in the future … but last night’s show will stand out in my mind as one of the most fun, one of the most mind-blowing concerts I’ve ever attended. I have to make clear, EVERY Prince concert is special and magical … but sometimes, the setlist just comes together so perfectly for that night that … lifelong memories are made. Ho-Down At The OK Corral

Yesterday afternoon David and I got to hang out with our dear friends Emma and Josh for lunch and arts & crafts … for real. We met up with the dynamic duo at Fred Segal for late lunch and then came back to our place to paint figurines that Josh picked out for us. Afterward, we made our way to The Abbey to celebrate Daron’s mom’s birthday with an impromptu costume fete. To say we had the best day ever would be an EXTREME understatement. Last night my friend Jen and I trekked our way East to the sleepy hamlet of Pomona, CA to see Jared Leto in concert. Yes, the rest of his band 30 Seconds to Mars was there as well but to be honest, there wasn’t much spotlight on them at all … in fact, the stage lighting was so dark, it was difficult to see that anyone else was on stage except for rockstar Leto … but, to be honest, that was perfectly fine by us. ‘Tron: Legacy’ Releases A New Kevin Flynn Poster

Last month got to check out a cool poster for Tron: Legacy which pays homage to the original poster artwork released back in 1980 for the first Tron film. Today we get to check out a new poster for the sequel film which features Jeff Bridges reprising the role of Kevin Flynn — 30 years later:


This latest poster is the first in a 3-part series of posters for Tron: Legacy which are all set to be released this week. I have to say, I’m very impressed with how great Bridges looks not only in this poster (hi, booty) but also in the promo trailers that have been released thus far. I’m really looking forward to seeing the other posters in this series but I’m DYING to see the film itself. Tron: Legacy won’t open in theaters until next month … but considering how fast the year has been flying by thus far, it won’t be long until we’ll all be able to see Tron 2 on the big screen.

Clay Aiken & Reed Kelly Are Dunzo!

And so … another celebrity couple has decided to call it quits … that is, if you believe My Space. American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken and Broadway star Reed Kelly have apparently ended their relationship … according to Kelly‘s My Space profile. As you may recall, we first heard about Clay and Reed hooking up back in December of 2008 and then in January of 2009 a set of cute photobooth pictures came out that made it pretty clear that the couple were happily in love. It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard from the couple and then just this week, Queerty reported that Reed Kelly‘s My Space profile has been updated to “Single” status. In addition, Kelly‘s My Space has also been updated with the Christina Aguilera song You Lost Me. It really looks like they are dunzo, y’all!


And that, folks, is that. I have to say, tho, that I’m quite impressed that Clay and Reed managed to stay together for as long as they did. Considering that Clay Aiken is a father to a baby born from his surrogate BFF Jaymes Foster, I thought it would be difficult for Reed to take on the responsibilities of being a sort of step father to Clay‘s son. The couple did manage to stay together for a considerable amount of time so my guess is something untoward happened in the relationship causing one to dump the other. The Xtina song posted on Reed‘s My Space suggests that someone may have cheated … but I have a hard time believing that Clay Aiken would cheat on a cutie like Reed Kelly. Reed performed for Broadway Bares earlier this year and showed off all the booty bounty that Clay has been enjoying while the couple were still together. Lisa Marie Presley Requests Sunflowers For Michael Jackson

Lisa Marie Presley, ex-wife of the late Michael Jackson, has posted a new blog on her official My Space profile wherein she reaches out to MJ fans with a plan to honor his memory. In her blog, Lisa Marie explains that sunflowers were MJ‘s favorite flowers and she asks that all of his fans send bouquets of sunflowers to brighten up his final resting place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA. Here is the full text of Lisa Marie‘s blogpost/plea:

Greetings MJ Fans….

While visiting him a few days ago at Forest Lawn , Riley and I couldn’t help but notice that, while there are a few bouquets , candles and gifts there is a very large empty space around him and in front of him that could use a whole lot more. While , I am sure that the staff at The Holy Terrace do their very best to place what is sent and what is placed at the door at his tomb , I thought you might like to know that he would want and deserves more than what is there and I had an idea……. Some may or may not know this but his favorite flower was the Sunflower. They made him happy because they looked happy to him , Thus, he called them “The Happy Flower”. When we were married , I would try and fill up rooms with them wherever he was. I wanted to bring something to place near him that he liked and that wouldn’t die so I brought a large vase of silk sunflowers and placed them near him. This barely made any kind of dent in the atmosphere so I thought of maybe letting those who care know what the situation is and how we can solve it. I know how much he loved and appreciated being showered with Gifts and flowers by his fans , I thought if whoever wants to bought just one silk sunflower each and sent it , the whole area around him and in front of him (As well as the two large empty vases that sit on either side of him) could be filled up in no time , which would be much more appropriate than what the current status is right now. We can all cause a “Sun shower” if you will……….. He deserves to be flooded and surrounded , LETS SURROUND HIM!

This has to be one of the sweetest things I ever heard. While their marriage may not have worked out, it is plainly clear that Lisa Marie still loves and cares for Michael very much. I’m pretty sure it won’t take much coaxing to get MJ’s most loyal fans to step up and heed Lisa Marie‘s call for sunflowers. I’m also pretty sure that MJ will be looking down with love and affection on all those who send him bouquets of his beloved sunflowers. Seriously, tho, ain’t this just the sweetest thing you’ve ever heard? Anyone planning on sending flowers?

Kelis Vs. PETA

Kelis fires back at criticism leveled at her from the animal rights organization

Fur lover and R&B singer Kelis posted a blogpost on her official MySpace profile this week altering her fans to the fact that she received a critical letter, personally addressed to her, from the animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. As you might imagine, PETA took great issue with Kelis‘s penchant for openly wearing and proclaiming her love for fur and decided that she needed a stern talking-to to try and get her to change her ways. Kelis, instead, responded to the PETA letter with an official statement of her own. Here is the full text of Kelis‘s response to PETA regarding her decision to wear animal fur:

Good morning all!

Ok, so you’re gonna love this. The other day I got a personalized letter from PETA! Lol so after some thought I’ve decided to write one back. Goes a little something like this:

There is no humane way to kill anything, let me start there. It’s unfortunate but it’s part of life. With that being said, I would eat pterodactyl if you found some and you told me it was meaty and delicious. And after doing a very minimal amount of research……. I found out that the founder Ingrid Newkirk is completely batty. I had a feeling but she far exceeded my expectations. I mean certifiably insane! Lol this chicks will is nuts, google it – it’s a riot! Beyond the fact that I think she’s a diabetic, which means she needs insulin, which is taken from lab pigs (I know this because my sister happens to be in veterinary school), which would be completely hypocritical. It’s like don’t abuse animals unless it can help me.

I feel very strongly about a lot of things such as the sweatshops that spin cotton and the blood on their hands. Btw it’s not just the look of fur. It’s warm as hell and feels glorious, ever rubbed faux fur on your body? Nothing luxurious about that. Then the letter proceeded to name artist and designers who don’t wear real fur. Great! More for me! I don’t judge them, don’t judge me.

Marilyn Manson Settles Lawsuit With Madonna Wanye Gacy

Back in 2007, former Marilyn Manson keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gacy (née Stephen Bier but also known as Pogo) brought suit against Marilyn Manson himself (née Brian Warner) for breach of contract, alleging that MM spent band money that should be shared among all members of Marilyn Manson on personal items (including Nazi paraphernalia, an engagement ring for Dita von Teese, a skeleton of a young child and other creepy things). The lawsuit was settled on December 11 but MM just decided to chime in on the matter on his official My Space blog early this morning. Here are some deets about the suit settlement and the full (colorful) blog posts from Marilyn Manson:


Stephen Bier, better known by the stage names Pogo and Madonna Wayne Gacy, brought his breach-of-contract suit in Los Angeles Superior Court in August 2007 against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner. The law firm of Grodsky & Olecki also was among numerous other defendants named. Bier, who was seeking more than $20 million, alleged Manson used money from their former band partnership to buy items ranging from Nazi paraphernalia to a $150,000 engagement ring for ex-wife Dita Von Teese. Lawyers told Judge Michael L. Stern on Dec. 11 that a settlement was reached, but that some matters had to be completed before he could dismiss the case. The terms of the accord were not divulged. On Thursday, the settlement effort hit a snag when Grodsky & Olecki filed a lien for attorneys’ fees stemming from their successful effort to persuade Stern to dismiss all of Bier’s allegations against them in November 2007. Stern’s ruling was upheld by a panel of the 2nd District Court of Appeal on June 4. The firm now wants to be paid from the settlement money and their lien at least temporarily puts a hold on a complete resolution of the case. Stern scheduled a hearing for Jan. 15 on any further motions regarding the settlement. Grodsky & Olecki represented both Bier and Manson while they were involved in previous litigation involving a third party. The allegations against the firm involved Bier’s contention that it breached its duty to him with an alleged “threat letter” that was “a transparent attempt by Manson to frighten Bier into leaving the band,” according to the keyboardist’s court papers. But Stern agreed with the firm’s lawyers that the letter was written in contemplation that Bier might file a lawsuit and was therefore protected. Bier’s lawyer, Olaf J. Muller, said that despite the temporary setback due to the filing of the lien, Bier is for the most part happy with the resolution of the case.

Matthew McConaughey turned 40 years old yesterday and decided to write a post for his official My Space blog in order to share with the world his feelings on the occasion. ………………..Cyber world….mcconaughey here, 40 years young today….thanks to all for the birthday wishes and to the people that share the same birthday, glad you were born too. The 30’s were good to me and I’m really looking forward to my 40’s, cause I’m late bloomer. Got everything I need for a perfect 40th…a happy and healthy lady, son, and another baby on the way….my family, closest friends and I celebrated last night with a surprise performance by one of my favorite artists Jamey Johnson….there were some epic stories told, lot of laughs and definitely some roasting. Somehow! No blood or glass broken, and that’s cus the gig was so organized by lady and we went ’til 4:30am…Going to spend some more time with my family and friends today, grillin steaks and sippin beers, celebratin more to live for….and again thanks for all the b-day wishes.

Aww … what a great sentiment to share on one’s birthday. I have to say … Mr. McConaughey has really grown up in the past few years. It wasn’t that long ago that Matthew was often spotted in a messy/drunken state, usually undressed in some fashion, making a bit of a fool of himself. As soon as he met Camila Alves and became a father to his son Levi, he went from acting like a drunken 18 year old fratboy to a grown adult man. I think he is very right when he says he is a “late bloomer” … much of his 30′s were spent acting as if he was in his 20′s. I have no doubt that the best is yet to come for Matthew McConaughey. He’s got a great attitude and, more importantly, it sounds like he’s got a great circle of loved ones to share his life with. Happy Birthday, Matthew! Just keep livin’, indeed.
