!!!!!!!!!!!

OK … I hope you’re sitting down right now because I have some news that will COMPLETELY BLOW YOUR MIND. The 1996 film The Craft has been adapted into a stage musical and altho the production is not yet complete, the whole show was workshopped recently. Video from the live workshop performance has been uploaded online and the vids give us a very good feel for how the show may turn out. Now, some of y’all should know that The Craft is one of my fave movies (along with Clueless and Empire Records) so news that it has been adapted into a musical is more than I could have ever dreamed possible. Click below to check out photos and video from the recent workshop performance of The Craft: The Musical and see what you think. More »

The Spice Girls Musical Is Dunzo!

... After Only A 6 Month Run

Welp … that’s that … after only 6 months on the London Westend Stage, the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! will close at the end of June. After a lavishing opening back in December with all 5 of the Spice Girls in attendance, the show was riddled with scathing reviews and, apparently, they were enough to force the show to end early. As far as I’ve heard, Spice Girls fans were charmed by the musical but it would appear that charmed fans aren’t enough to keep the production going. The show has announced that the final performance of Viva Forever! will take place on June 29 then … Peace the Spork Out, Viva Forever! More »

Theater Review: ‘Kinky Boots’

The TV Guide

My day in NYC yesterday was about as perfect as it could be. The temperature soared into the 70s, I got to hang out all day with amazing friends and I got to see a fantastic Broadway show last night. Just, perfect. The day was spent walking around SoHo, snacking and shopping along the way. My evening was spent at the Al Hirschfeld Theater where I saw Kinky Boots. The night was spent dranking, roaming the streets of NYC and crashing in bed with pizza. ‘Twas a fine day, indeed. More »

‘Mean Girls: The Musical’ Is Officially, Definitely Happening

And Yes, There Will Be A 'Fetch' Song!

Back in January Trent completely (and rightfully) lost it when he found out that Tina Fey was talking about creating a Broadway musical out of the hit movie Mean Girls. Tina wrote the original screenplay and said that she was working on developing the musical with her husband, Jeff Richmond, who did all the music on 30 Rock. Well, Mr. Fey Jeff is speaking out and the musical is definitely going down. Breathe, Trent, breathe/Don’t breathe! And click inside for more!

Tina Fey Says She Is Working On ‘Mean Girls: The Musical’

OMG PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN FOR REAL!!!!!

Tina Fey set hearts a-flutter on the red carpe of the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards last night when she confirmed that she is adapting a Broadway stage musical version of the screenplay she penned for the ICONIC film Mean Girls. YES FOLKS, THIS IS REAL LIFE!!! Honestly, there have been rumors that Fey was secretly working on a Mean Girls musical but I don’t recall that she’s ever talked about it publicly (probably because no one thought to ask her about it). Last night, she was asked … and she answered … and the heavens erupted with majestic celebration as angels sang on high heralding a joy previously unknown to man … or something like that ;D More »

Watch: Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Eddie Redmayne, And More Sing Away In New ‘Les Misérables’ Clips

The 'Les Miz' Takeover
Cosette & Marius With Hearts Full Of Love

As you all know, I’ve been obsessing over every new trailer, clip, whatever of the forthcoming movie Les Misérables. And I’ve officially started reading the book! And by ‘reading the book’ I mean I’ve read the Preface (amazing) and the first few sentences of the first chapter (also amazing), which means I’ve got quite a ways to go, lol. But maybe these new clips will inspire me to make some more headway tonight. Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, and Samantha Barks are all doing that brilliant live-singing thing that director Tom Hooper has put in place. Peep the video above (of Eddie and Amanda as Cosette and Marius) and click inside for four more clips!

Carrie Underwood Will Star In NBC’s ‘The Sound Of Music’

Your Thoughts?

The Sound Of Music with Julie Andrews. One of the many movies of my childhood. Like, for real. And it’s getting some sort of live remake on NBC… which is fine! I’m fine with that! Not sure if I’ll be tuning in… but I’m fine with it. And although I haven’t listened to much Carrie Underwood lately, I understand that she’s crazy talented and well-respected so this can’t be too bad of an idea… right? Click inside to learn more!
