The TV Guide
Back in March of 2009 my good friend Gillian and I went to the Catalina Jazz Club to see Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter live in concert. Last night, we returned to the Catalina Club to see our girl live in concert again. For those of you who don’t know, Lynda Carter was a singer before she famously became Wonder Woman on TV in the late 70′s/early 80′s. For the past few years, she’s made a return to singing and Gillian and I became HUGE fans. When I found out that Lynda Carter was performing again, I knew we had to see her … and we had a blast last night. More »

When Heartbreak, Cheerleaders, And Good Tunes Collide
Okay, so this track is my new jam and I’m about to put y’all on! Rising rock stars Stone Cold Fox premiered their video for Seventeen last week on MTV‘s Buzzworthy and it’s getting hella, well-deserved love. Good break-up songs never get old, and it’s always nice to see and hear the traditional story of unrequited love with a new twist. I love, love, love this video (particularly the scene that reminds me of Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, and/or A Clockwork Orange– genius!) and I can’t wait to hear what y’all think about the track. I’m on my fourth (maybe fifth) listen and I’m not over it yet; very fun, very catchy stuff. And– more than just being a break-up song– I think the song really captures a particular nostalgia I have for my late teens. Seventeen was such a cool, weird time; it’s nice to have a soundtrack to that moment.
Stone Cold Fox is headlining Glassland on Friday March 22nd. Check out their Facebook page for more!

N.E.R.D. Love On Throwback Thursdays
Last week we had a very, mini Throwback Thursday, but it was still a really good time. This week I’m going in y’all, lol. The friggen Neptunes (AKA N.E.R.D.) are everything!!! Earlier today we learned that one of Jay-Z‘s big time producers premiered a new remix to one of my fave songs, and I was reminded of the fact that [good] producers make the world go ’round. And a conversation about the best producers ever needs be a conversation about The Neptunes. Whatever you do, do not go to Wikipedia because you will be blown away by the gabillions of hits these guys have; it’s sick. And for their hard work, we thank them. Click inside for just a few of their greatest hits!

It's Official: Everybody Loves Kendrick
OMGOMGOMGOMG. Yespleasemorethankyou/I’ve lit’rally been waiting for this moment since Kendrick Lamar‘s debut album dropped back in October. The album was/is so damn good, I couldn’t help but wonder why Jay-Z wasn’t on it somewhere, lol. But here he is! As y’all know, Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe is one of my absolute favorite songs… of the century. I even got caught up in an intense, [totally one-sided] beef with Lady Gaga over the video she [unnecessarily] released for the song, after she decided she didn’t want it to be on Kendrick‘s album. But who needs Gaga when Jigga‘s on the remix?!?! Producer Young Guru (who is Jay-Z‘s everything) just premiered the Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe remix at SXSW and it’s kind of a big deal. I love that Jay-Z‘s on it, and I love that it’s a real, live remix with a new verse from K-Dot and everything. The best part of the whole thing is that I get to imagine Jay-Z walking around his house singing the hook to himself. Love it. Peep the video for more! Kendrick really is, officially, the hottest MC in the game!

BUT, There's No New Album ... Just Yet
Last month we learned the VERY EXCITING NEWS that Nine Inch Nails is reforming for a new world tour that will take place later this year and into next year. At the time of the announcement, NIN mastermind Trent Reznor didn’t offer many details … today, we tells us a bit more. In a new interview, Reznor reveals that the bulk of NIN songs to be performed on the tour will be their already released classic songs … PLUS “a couple of new tracks” that were intended for a NIN greatest hits album (that was supposed to be released this year but has been pushed back to next year). Altho Reznor says there are no plans for a new NIN album (yet), we can look forward to hearing a couple of new songs when NIN hits the road later this year. More »
But Where's the Sexy?
Tomorrow night Glee will pay homage to Paula Abdul‘s 1989 music video Cold Hearted which is, in turn, a tribute to the famed Bob Fosse film All That Jazz. Those of you who remember Paula‘s video may recall how racy it was at the time for MTV (if memory serves, the video was relegated to airing after dark so as no to “offend” sensitive eyes in the daytime) but was nowhere as racy as the scene is is based on in All That Jazz. This version of Cold Hearted, done Glee style, isn’t racy at all. In fact, it’s kinda boring … even tho actress Naya Rivera is a phenomenal performer. Meh. I’ve long since given up on Glee … but I got mad love for Paula Abdul and her song Cold Hearted so I present the video above for your entertainment. If you so desire, you can click below and watch the original Cold Hearted music video by Paula Abdul and Take Off with Us performance from All That Jazz. More »
