The TV Guide
For the first time in far too many weeks, I’m very ashamed to admit, I finally got my butt outside to go for a run. With the San Francisco Marathon looming in a couple of weeks (YIKES!) I realized that time was running out for me to remind my body that it needs to run for a very long distance for a very long time. OY. After my run, I rested up a bit before I met up with some friends at the Fonda Theater to see Chvrches live in concert. I’m a newer fan of the band but man, I am so glad I saw them live last night … they were really great. I snapped some photos and video of the show, check it out below. More »
So now that we can be FAIRLY certain that wine-drinking Beyoncé is not (yet) pregnant with her second child, we can go back to focusing on her NEW MUSIC instead. As you may recall, we learned yesterday (sorta) from Beyoncé herself that she won’t be releasing her new album until November (boo) but that doesn’t meant that we have to wait that long to hear some of the songs that will likely appear on that album (yay). Last night, during a concert stop in Antwerp, Belgium, Bey performed in full a new track titled Standing on the Sun. A portion of this song was previously featured in Beyoncé‘s commercial for H&M but last night’s performance was the first time the song was “released” in full. Check out the embed above to watch/hear the song in full. Thus far, Bey has added the new songs Standing on the Sun, Grown Woman (which has leaked in full studio version online) and Epic (from the soundtrack of the animated film of the same name, in which she stars as an animated character) and it’s very likely she will add more new songs to her setlist as the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour continues on its way. As for this new song, what do y’all think? Do we like?
But It Sounds Like Bey Don't Like You Asking
With the recent leak/release of Beyoncé‘s new song Grown Woman, folks have been wondering if the popstart might be getting close to releasing a new album. As you may know, Bey is currently on tour in Europe right now and she is scheduled to bring her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour stateside very soon … so it sounds like the perfect time to release a new album right? Well, reportedly according to Beyoncé herself we’re going to have a wait a bit longer for the release of her next album. When asked point blank by a fan when she will be releasing her new album, Bey icily responded “in November”. More »

"Tonight there's gonna be a whole lotta smoke in the air"
Snoop Lion, the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg (real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus), has released a new music video for his haunting reggae single Ashtrays and Heartbreaks. Surprisingly, at least to me, Snoop enlisted the aid of Ms. Miley Cyrus to provide vocals on the track and appear in the video, which you can watch in full above. As you can hear, the song is a lament about friends/family who have tragically died so, OF COURSE Snoop would ask Miley to sing on the track. Yeah, I don’t understand either but these collabos do tend to get a lot of attention (case in point: this post) so … enjoy?
"You're beautiful, good Lord, you're f*ckin' beautiful'
Earlier this month we got our first look at the official music video for Mariah Carey‘s new single with crooner Miguel titled Beautiful. That video was censored so that the explicit cuss words were edited out of the song. Today, Mimi releases the semi-NSFW explicit version of the music video. The inclusion of the swear words is not the only thing different about this video, the whole thing is pretty different (no motorcycle, more classic car in the barn). Personally, I like this music video best … explicit language notwithstanding. Check it out, see what you think.
No Previews, No Leaks
A couple of weeks ago we learned that Kanye West‘s new album has been titled Yeezus when the album art made its way to the Internets. After hearing his new songs New Slaves and Black Skinhead, I’m sure folks have been clamoring for any information about when they can place pre orders for the album. Welp, it looks like that will not be possible. Kanye‘s creative collaborator Jean Touitou shared a flyer on his official Twitter profile that reveals that there will be NO pre orders for the album before its release date of June 18. Sorry ’bout it. More »

Back in November Kelly Clarkson released a new song titled People Like Us which is featured on her first ever greatest hits compilation Greatest Hits – Chapter 1. In March, People was released as the final single from her greatest hits album and today — at last — we get to see the just-released music video. In the embed above, you can see Kelly‘s music video for the track in full. Unlike her previous more emotionally-themed video for Catch My Breath, People Like Us features a cute little story. Check it out, see what you think. Because this is the final single to be released from her greatest his album, I suspect we’ll have to wait until she’s ready to release a new album to hear her next single. Hopefully she won’t keep us waiting long.
"I've been less than honest about what I've really been up to lately"
Wow! Columbia Records just issued a press release announcing that they have signed Nine Inch Nails to a new record contract and that a new NIN album will be released later this year! The release, which you can read below, quotes Trent Reznor‘s admittance that he has been “less than honest” with us about his plans for Nine Inch Nails. As you may recall, we learned earlier this year that NIN was reforming for a new world tour later this year and at the time, we were told that the band would be performing songs from NIN‘s back catalog along with 2 new songs that will be featured on a greatest hits album due out this year. Today we learn that Reznor has been secretly working on an entire NEW album of NIN songs which we now know will be released this year. OMFG! Read on for more deets. More »
This is NOT a Destiny's Child Song
“Ladies, y’all wanna do it again?” This is the opening line of a new Kelly Rowland song titled You’ve Changed that features her former Destiny’s Child groupmates Beyoncé Knowles and Michelle Williams. Make no mistake, tho, this new song is NOT a D. Child song … it’s a song that will be featured on Kelly‘s new album Talk a Good Game, due out next month. As I understand it, the song was recorded by the ladies separately … that is, each singer recorded her vocals in the studio and then the song was put together afterward. Click below to give the song a listen and hear what it sounds like to have Kelly Rowland backed-up by Bey and Michelle. More »
Her Skirt Comes Down

Today, in celebration of Kylie‘s birthday, we get to hear a NEW SONG titled Skirt from Ms. Minogue that was produced by Nom de Strip and was co-written by The Dream. As you can hear below, this new song is a sexy little number that offers a bit of a different sound for Kylie and gives us a taste of what’s to come when she releases her new album … hopefully sometime soon.
