"This is more than just a little thing"
Last week, we got our first listen of Hilary Duff‘s newest single All About You and today we get to check out the just-released lyric video for the song. As you can see above, Hilary does appear in this lyric video which, to be honest, looks very much like an official music video … with lyrics. I expect that the official video will be released soon but for now, we can enjoy this vid. I have to say, it’s really great that we have new Hilary Duff music in the world again. It’s great to have her back.
A couple of weeks ago we got to see some behind the scenes footage from the set of Nicki Minaj‘s music video for her new single Anaconda. The video isn’t quite ready for release just yet but we do get to check out the just released lyric video for the track. As you can see above, the video uses static images and old Nicki footage throughout along with extreme close-ups of Nicki‘s buns, hun. The lyrics are also uncensored so it’s probably pretty NSFW. Have a look above to learn the lyrics to Anaconda and stay tuned, the final music video should be upon us soon.

Apparently, it was...
As you all know, I have been binge-listening to Beyoncé’s Flawless remix over the last couple of days and it has been glorious. Now here’s a funny thing. I a such a Lil’ Kim fan that the first time I heard the song I did, in fact, flinch at Nicki’s line, “The queen of rap, slayin’ with Queen B,” because every time I hear a Queen B reference in a rap (or any reference to queens, really) I automatically think Lil’ Kim. However, I also know that it’s ridiculous to ask that no other rapper ever reference herself as a queen of rap, or reference another artist as a Queen B just because it makes me think of Kim. So when I heard that Kim released a diss remix to the remix, I was all like Sigh. I’m not sure that this was entirely necessary, but click inside for more!
"Of course sometimes shit goes down when it's a BILLION dollars on an elevator."
Don’t ask me what I’m doing up at 2 AM. Apparently, I’m baking a cake for my 4 year old’s birthday (!!!!) and listening to Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj spittin’ hot fi-ya on the Flawless remix. My eyes are a little blurry, but I’m pretty sure Bey just went iiinnnn, lol! I cannot believe she actually addressed the infamous Jay Z/Solange elevator fight in the most rap-tastic way possible. That is to say, she basically turned the beef into some baller-ass lyric and I can’t even be mad at her. Click below for your first listen and come inside for more! I’m exhausted… but I can’t stop playing this!
Because when rappers get hella emotional, it's always epic!
Last week for #ThrowbackThursday we took it back to 1998 and it was a blast. This morning I did something I do almost every morning, and I went to YouTube to watch Three 6 Mafia’s Stay Fly video, which eventually lead me to Int’l Player’s Anthem and it got me thinking about how good it feels when rappers spit love songs. OMG. It feels so good. So today we’re looking back at some of the mushiest, gushiest rap songs of all time. Click inside for more!
Mya, Sisqo, DMX... and the Spice Girls, obviously
PITNBr Erica Croce changed. My. Life. Yesterday she sent me a link to The Nostalgia Machine and I haven’t been the same since! So today’s #ThrowbackThursday is dedicated to her… and to anybody else who remembers when Sisqo and Mya collaborated on It’s All About Me and basically changed the world. But before we get started on this week’s collection, can I just say that I’m still in love with our list of Songs That Make You Ugly-Cry from last week? I didn’t get to reply to all of the comments, but I wanted to thank ALL of you for sharing your fave tracks, and for also opening up about your personal connections to some of them. Y’all are the best. Click inside for more!
Prepare to fall in love
Now that folks are pretty much in love with or, at least, well aware of young performers like Lorde, Charli XCX and Iggy Azalea, it’s time to meet someone else who you need to be in lurve with. Banks is a singer who has released a lyric video for her new single Beggin For Thread, the first from her debut album Goddess which hits stores in September. My girl Ollie has been a huge Banks fan for a while so she gave me the heads up about the release of this new single … which I loved at first listen. Click the embed above to see the lyric video for Banks and remember her name. When her album Goddess drops on September 9, you’re gonna be hearing a lot more about her.
"You are the sun guarding your throne"
Last week Madonna shared a short video on Instagram that features an orchestra recording a song titled Messiah, which will presumably be included on her as-yet untitled new album. Just a short time ago, Maddy posted lyrics to Messiah on her official Instagram profile. The lyrics that she shared do not appear to be in full but she does show us enough lines to give us a sense of the song, click below and check it out. More »

Woo, I mean woo ...
Robin Thicke is heavily promoting the release of his new album Paula with the aggressive release of new material from the album before the album is even released in stores. Last week we saw the music video for Get Her Back and we got to hear a clip of the song Lock the Door. Today we get to see the lyric video for the song Forever Love which, along with the rest of the songs on the Paula album, is another attempt at wooing back Thicke‘s estranged wife Paula Patton. Click the embed above to watch the lyric video for Forever Love and see if YOU think it will do the trick and successfully convince Paula to take her estranged husband back.
"Ooh, these haters got a sour ass look up on their face"
Two weeks ago we got our first listen of Danity Kane‘s HOT new single Lemonade and today we get to check out the just-released lyric video for the track. As you can see above, the video features mini-versions of the remaining DK members (Aubrey O’Day, Shannon Bex and Dawn Richard) and is only the cutest thing ever. I am in love with this song, I must reiterate. I’ve been listening to this song since it was released a couple of weeks ago and I’m still in love. It’s a bummer that Aundrea Fimbres had to quit the group due to her pregnancy (and I’m still not entirely sure why D. Woods got axed from the group) but I’m hopeful that the trio version of Danity Kane will enjoy enough success that they can keep putting out this kind of music. LOVE this song … do you?
