Mya, Sisqo, DMX... and the Spice Girls, obviously
PITNBr Erica Croce changed. My. Life. Yesterday she sent me a link to The Nostalgia Machine and I haven’t been the same since! So today’s #ThrowbackThursday is dedicated to her… and to anybody else who remembers when Sisqo and Mya collaborated on It’s All About Me and basically changed the world. But before we get started on this week’s collection, can I just say that I’m still in love with our list of Songs That Make You Ugly-Cry from last week? I didn’t get to reply to all of the comments, but I wanted to thank ALL of you for sharing your fave tracks, and for also opening up about your personal connections to some of them. Y’all are the best. Click inside for more!
Prepare to fall in love
Now that folks are pretty much in love with or, at least, well aware of young performers like Lorde, Charli XCX and Iggy Azalea, it’s time to meet someone else who you need to be in lurve with. Banks is a singer who has released a lyric video for her new single Beggin For Thread, the first from her debut album Goddess which hits stores in September. My girl Ollie has been a huge Banks fan for a while so she gave me the heads up about the release of this new single … which I loved at first listen. Click the embed above to see the lyric video for Banks and remember her name. When her album Goddess drops on September 9, you’re gonna be hearing a lot more about her.
"You are the sun guarding your throne"
Last week Madonna shared a short video on Instagram that features an orchestra recording a song titled Messiah, which will presumably be included on her as-yet untitled new album. Just a short time ago, Maddy posted lyrics to Messiah on her official Instagram profile. The lyrics that she shared do not appear to be in full but she does show us enough lines to give us a sense of the song, click below and check it out. More »

Woo, I mean woo ...
Robin Thicke is heavily promoting the release of his new album Paula with the aggressive release of new material from the album before the album is even released in stores. Last week we saw the music video for Get Her Back and we got to hear a clip of the song Lock the Door. Today we get to see the lyric video for the song Forever Love which, along with the rest of the songs on the Paula album, is another attempt at wooing back Thicke‘s estranged wife Paula Patton. Click the embed above to watch the lyric video for Forever Love and see if YOU think it will do the trick and successfully convince Paula to take her estranged husband back.
"Ooh, these haters got a sour ass look up on their face"
Two weeks ago we got our first listen of Danity Kane‘s HOT new single Lemonade and today we get to check out the just-released lyric video for the track. As you can see above, the video features mini-versions of the remaining DK members (Aubrey O’Day, Shannon Bex and Dawn Richard) and is only the cutest thing ever. I am in love with this song, I must reiterate. I’ve been listening to this song since it was released a couple of weeks ago and I’m still in love. It’s a bummer that Aundrea Fimbres had to quit the group due to her pregnancy (and I’m still not entirely sure why D. Woods got axed from the group) but I’m hopeful that the trio version of Danity Kane will enjoy enough success that they can keep putting out this kind of music. LOVE this song … do you?
The First Lyric Video of TWO
Last week Nicki Minaj shocked us all with the release of her new pop ballad song Pills N Potions, which will be featured on her upcoming new album The Pink Print. Today we get to see the just-released lyric video for the song. Nicki informs us that this lyric video is the first of two lyric videos to come for Pills N Potions … so if you don’t like the way the lyrics to the song are displayed in this video — fear not! A second lyric video is on the way. For now, let’s content ourselves with this lyric video and feast our ears on another listen (or three) of Nicki‘s sick new song Pills N Potions.
"In the park I reconnect / Take some time to self-reflect"
Actor Zachary Levi and Bert from Sesame Street have teamed up for a new music video for their song A Lovely Sunny Day that advocates putting away technology in order to enjoy the fresh outdoors instead. The video, which was produced by Mashable, is a very cute reminder that it’s a good idea to unplug and go offline every once in a while to enjoy the finer things in life … namely, the great outdoors. Check out the video above and then click below to see the lyrics to A Lovely Sunny Day and find out where you can download the song. More »

"we could be opening a doorway / globally, but that's okay"
We are just a week away from the release of Tori Amos‘s new album Unrepentant Geraldines and to get ready for this new batch of music, the lyrics to the 14 songs on the album have been released for our perusal. I’ve been lucky enough to hear the album in full and I can ASSURE YOU, Unrepentant Geraldines is a near perfect album. It is most assuredly the best collection of songs that Tori has released in the past 10 years and will stand, I think, as one of the greatest albums of her career. I’ll have a full review of the album soon … for now, tho, read on to get acquainted with the lyrics to the songs on Unrepentant Geraldines and prepare yourselves for one of the greatest albums that will be released this year.
The painting's on the wall
Tori Amos has released a lyric video for her new single Trouble’s Lament, the first from her forthcoming new album Unrepentant Geraldines which is out on May 13. As you can see above, this lyric video follows the same painting theme that is used as the cover art for Geraldines. It’s a cute video but I’m really looking forward to the release of the actual music video which Tori began filming a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully the official music video will be out before the album drops in a few weeks. For now, this lyric video will do. Please enjoy.
