Back in mid-July, we learned the very exciting news that Siouxsie Sioux of Siouxsie and the Banshees was asked to compose a piece of music for the series finale episode of Hannibal. Over the weekend, that episode of Hannibal — The Wrath of the Lamb — aired here in the US and we finally got to hear this new piece of music. Siouxsie collaborated with Brian Reitzell on the song Love Crime and as you can hear above, it is a hauntingly beautiful song that not only speaks to the dark beauty of the show but also reminds us of Siouxsie‘s immeasurable talent. The second song from their new album 'Every Open Eye'
Last month we learned that the band Chvrches is readying the release of their sophomore album Every Open Eye, due out in September, and we got our first listen of the first song from the album … a track titled Leave A Trace. Today we get to hear the second song from their new album and it is as gloriously perfect as the song we heard last month. The lyric video for Never Ending Circles is embedded above for your listening pleasure and as you can hear, it is so perfectly Chvrches, I can’t even. The music, the lyrics, Lauren‘s voice … perfect, perfect, perfect. This is the music I want to hear from Chvrches and I’m so glad they are giving us what we want. I know I am going to be obsessed with Every Open Eye when it is released. Until then, I’ll just gush and fawn over Never Ending Circles. Ugh, it is so good. Please enjoy.
"I know I need to feel released"
A few days ago we learned the really great news that Chvrches have set September 20 as the release date for their sophomore album, titled Every Open Eye. Today we get to hear the first single from the new album in full. Chvrches have released a lyric video for the new single, Leave A Trace, which you can watch above. The song, I’m happy to hear, is very much in vein with the sound that Chvrches have become famous for. I absolutely LOVE the sweet, poppy, electronic music that the Scottish group crafts so expertly. If Leave A Trace is a sign of what we can expect when Every Open Eye is released, then we are in for a treat. Have a listen, see what you think. It’s a really great song, yeah?

"I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh"
For a few weeks now, Selena Gomez has been hinting that she would be releasing a new single, just in time for the summer music season. Today we get our first listen of Selena‘s new single, Good For You, which features a guest rap performance by A$AP Rocky. The song is a slower jam, which is nice, but as always, I was hoping for a more upbeat, poppier dance track. The song is OK but I can’t say that I’m really feeling it. The lyrical content, which is meant to be a sweet love song for her man, does’t really jibe with me. Click below to have a listen, read the lyrics and see what you think of Selena and A$AP Rocky‘s new song Good For You. More »
Back to the '90s
Over the weekend, we got to see the cover art for Mariah Carey‘s new single Infinity, the only new song included on her upcoming greatest hits album #1 to Infinity. At the stroke of midnight last night, Mimi released Infinity for download on iTunes and made the song available for listening online with the release of the lyric video embedded above. As you can see and hear, this song appears to be TOTALLY about her soon-to-be ex-husband Nick Cannon … and how he lost the greatest thing he ever had when he messed up his marriage with Mariah. The song is really, really good. It has a distinctly ’90s sound to it, which is where Mariah Carey is strongest. This song has a very good shot at becoming Mimi‘s next #1 song. Have a listen, see what you think.

"Turn the lights down low / And kiss me in the dark"
After we got a tiny taste of the song back in March, Hilary Duff released the full audio for her infectious new single Sparks earlier this month. Today we get to see the just-released lyric video for Sparks and altho it’s not a particularly impressive lyric vid, I am so crazy about the song that I am happy to feature it again. Sparks has been one of my fave new songs since it was released a few weeks ago and it fits in nicely in my running playlist. I’m hoping that the music video for Sparks will be a bit more exciting than this lyric vid but even if not, I’ll still be desperately in lurve with the song nonetheless.
The first single from 'Bush'
Last month we learned that Snoop Dogg is coming at us with a new album, executive produced by Pharrell, titled Bush with a first single titled Peaches N Cream. Today we get to hear Peaches N Cream in full with the release of the lyric video embedded above. As you can hear, Peaches is an ode the ladies with a thicker posterior and it features guest vocals by Charlie Wilson. The song deffo has a Pharrell flavor to it so, yeah, it’s pretty smooth.
