Directed by Sofia Coppola
Bill Murray has teamed up with director Sofia Coppola for a new Xmas special that will air on Netflix later this year and as you can see in the first teaser above, it looks like A Very Murray Christmas will have the same feel as their brilliant film Lost In Translation. According to Netflix, this holiday special will be “an homage to the classic variety show featuring Bill Murray playing himself, as he worries no one will show up to his TV show due to a terrible snow storm in New York City. Through luck and perseverance, guests arrive at the Carlyle hotel to help him; dancing and singing in holiday spirit.” Guest stars will include George Clooney, Paul Shaffer, Amy Poehler, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Phoenix, Frederic Moulin, Rashida Jones, Miley Cyrus, and more … so, yeah, it’s going to be massive. I can’t even tell you how excited I am by the prospect of Murray and Coppola working together again on a new project. There is no release date yet but this special should be out by the holidays. Ho Ho Ho!
"Happy Motherz Day to the best, the sweetest, the illest"
On this Sunday afternoon, no doubt your timelines are being flooded with odes to some of the women who help make the world go ’round. It’s Mother’s Day, and I started it off by going through some old boxes and getting all sentimental over my Mommy, and then celebrating with my three boys. It’s always fun to see what the celebrities post, and Rihanna did not disappoint. Click inside for a really amazing shot of Mama Fenty!
Madonna is celebrating Mother’s Day today with her four children and she just shared a very cute, fairly rare photo of all of children on her official Instagram profile. The photo below features Maddy‘s kids Lourdes Maria, Chifundo Mercy James, David Banda and Rocco John posing together today. It’s really lovely that Lola was able to come home from college at the University of Michigan to celebrate Mother’s Day with her mom and siblings. First and foremost, I’d like to send out a HUGE Happy Mother’s Day to my mom back home in Detroit who has never, every turned on a computer in her life so she will never see this post. Nor does my mother have a cell phone, so she’ll never see my Mother’s Day shout outs on social media … but I’d still like to send her love into the Interwebs all the same. Secondly, I’d like to send JUST AS HUGE Mother’s Day lurve to all the moms out there celebrating their special day today. I know that everyday is Mother’s Day but it’s nice that today has been set aside especially to fête all the worthy moms out there. More »

Happy May the 4th, everybody! It seems like it was just yesterday that I was wishing all y’all a Happy Star Wars Day 2014 and here we are, another year has flown by. My Sunday was a pretty fun one. I wasn’t able to get down to Anaheim yesterday because I had early evening plans with Darion and Omar at The Forum in Inglewood, CA. We got tickets to see Marvel Universe Live! some time ago and yesterday was our day to see the show. Marvel Universe Live is kinda like a concert version of a comic book story … the action is acted out on a massive stage with stunts, pyrotechnics and many of our favorite Marvel Comics characters. Altho the show is probably geared towards kids, we three geeks had a great time nonetheless. More »

Last night I met up with some of my SoA friends for a night of revelry and bowling at Lucky Strike that ended up stretching into the week hours of Saturday morning … which would’ve been find had I not had to get up early and get to Amoeba Music in Hollywood to partake in my annual Record Store Day ritual. I’m happy to report that my RSD excursion was really successful and pretty much pain-free. The early bird gets the worm, they say, and so too does the early RSD devotee. More »

Last night I met up with my friend Eileen and we made our way to The Virgil to see my girl Hustle Roses perform a live concert in celebration of the release of her new EP battleplanning. (which you can download HERE) Hustle Roses, as usual, totally killed it last night. The show was really fun because not only did we get to hear some of the songs off battleplanning. live but I also got to hang out with a nice group of friends. After the show, Eileen and I grabbed a late dinner at PHO Cafe and capped off a very fun night out. More »
Happy 4 8 15 16 23 42 Day
Remember those curious numbers that played a huge role in the now defunct ABC drama Lost? Well today, for a split second, those numbers will align for the first time ever at precisely 4:23:42. April 8, 2015 at 4:23:42 translates into 4 8 15 16 23 42. It is extremely likely that absolutely nothing will happen at the stroke of 4:23:42 this afternoon or, then again, it might be a magical moment in time. We still have a few hours to go before we find out (the magic time will hit the east coast first, here in the US, followed by the central, mountain and pacific areas of the country). Click below to learn more about this Lost numbers convergence and get ready … you never know what may happen (tho probably nothing will happen at all). More »

All I want for Xmas is THIS MOVIE!
It may only be April but it’s never too early to start thinking about Xmas (apparently) and today we learn that EXCITING news that plans are in the works for Mariah Carey, Ms. All I Want For Christmas Is You herself, to star in a Xmas movie of her very own! OMG! Mimi hasn’t featured in a starring role in a movie since her beautiful disaster Glitter (2001) so, clearly, she is ready to right that wrong. This movie deal isn’t quite done yet but Deadline does report that New Line has “pre-emptively bought an untitled Mariah Carey Christmas pitch” … which is Hollywood-speak for WE’RE GETTING A FREAKING MARIAH CAREY XMAS MOVIE! AHHHHH!!!! More »
