It’s been many months since Solange stole headlines with that elevator fight incident she had with Jay Z earlier this year but if the rumors are to be believed, she’s about to make news again this coming weekend when she marries her longtime boyfriend Alan Furguson. Earlier this year a bunch of rumors starting going around that suggested that Beyoncé and Jay Z‘s marriage was so on the rocks that they were planning to split up at the conclusion of their super successful On The Run Tour. The internationally acclaimed barrister formerly known as Amal Alamuddin has changed her name professionally to Amal Clooney, taking the last name of her new husband George Clooney. The change was made public on the official website of Amal‘s law firm:
Amal Clooney is a barrister specialising in international law, human rights, extradition and criminal law. She has represented clients in cases before the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights, as well as in domestic courts in the UK and US. Amal also provides advice to governments and individuals on international law, and has been appointed to a number of UN commissions including as adviser to Special Envoy Kofi Annan on Syria, and as Counsel to the Inquiry launched by UN human rights rapporteur Ben Emmerson QC into the use of drones in counter-terrorism operations. Amal is fluent in French and Arabic and has particular expertise in international criminal law and the Middle East region.
But what’s in a name?

Earlier this week, we got to see George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin‘s wedding photos in the pages of People magazine and Hello! magazine. Today we get to see even MORE wedding photos, this time in the pages of Italian Vanity Fair magazine. When a big name celebrity like George Clooney gets hitched, a LOT of photos need to be taken of his wedding (apparently) which means that all of those photos can be published in various magazines. I understand that the money made from every wedding photo sold is being donated to charity so we can, at least, take comfort that we are being inundated with wedding photos for a good cause. In case you’re not overwhelmed with Clooney wedding photos yet, have a look at a few more in the gallery presented here.
Congratulations are in order for Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon because today we learn that he got married to Moonda Tee in Las Vegas, NV this week. Nicky and Moonda shared lots of personal wedding photos on their Facebook profiles (Nicky‘s Facebook, Moonda‘s Facebook) for our viewing pleasure. I can’t say that I’ve been keeping up with Nicholas‘s private life in recent years but I’m happy to see that he’s so happy with Moonda. I absolutely adore Nicholas as Xander Harris on BtVS and I wish him and his new wife all the happiness in the world! Let’s send all of our LURVE and congrats to the newlyweds today!!
Earlier this month, actor Neil Patrick Harris married his partner of 10 years David Burtka in an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends at a castle in Italy, as one does, and as you may recall, he shared photos from the couple’s nuptials HERE and HERE. Last night, NPH paid a visit to The Late Show with David Letterman to share more details about his wedding ceremony and share more photos from his special night. Click the embed above to hear Neil talk a bit about his wedding ceremony and keep an eye out for two really amazing photos from Mr. & Mr. Burtka-Harris‘s wedding night.
Mr. & Mrs. Clooney meet the World
The first photos from George Clooney‘s wedding ceremony to Amal Alamuddin have been published here in the US on the cover and in the pages of People magazine and internationally on the cover and in the pages of Hello! magazine (the very same way that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt chose to publish their wedding photos). I had heard that the wedding photos might be featured in the new issue of Vogue magazine and while some photos may appear in the fashion mag, it’s clear that People and Hello! were willing to pay much more money for the right to publish the photos first. Click below to see Mr. and Mrs. Clooney in their wedding finery on the covers of this weeks’ issues of People and Hello! magazines. More »
For a cost of €600
On Saturday we learned that actor George Clooney and fiancée Amal Alamuddin got themselves married in a lavish ceremony in Italy that was attended by family and A-List friends. Yesterday, we learned some deets about the wedding shindig as dished by folks who managed to score an invite to the affair. BUT, the couple weren’t actually legally married until they showed up at the city hall building in Venice, Italy this morning for their civil wedding ceremony. For the cost of €600, George and Amal got legally married today with far much less hoopla than the ceremony they enjoyed on Saturday night. Click through the gallery presented here to see the stylishly simple wedding attire that George and Amal wore for their civil ceremony at city hall in the Ca’ Loredan Building. As I understand it, the lavish ceremony was photographed for publication in Vogue magazine. The photos were sold for gads of money, which will be donated to charity, and should be published in Vogue‘s next issue. Stay tuned.
