Kerry Washington Got A Slice Of Gluten-Free Pizza At The Academy Awards Last Night

Pizza Party

Last night, during the 2014 Academy Awards telecast, host Ellen DeGeneres did a bit where she brought out pizza delivery into the crowd and she began handing out slices to some of the folks in the audience … folks like Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and Jared Leto. Ellen made a specific attempt to get a slice of pizza to actress Kerry Washington because as a pregnant woman, she was likely very hungry. It turns out that Kerry did get her pizza fix in the Oscar green room last night and she shared a really cute photo on her official Instagram profile. Check it out below. More »

The Amazing History Of Detroit

The TV Guide

Yesterday was my last day in Detroit after a whirlwind short but very sweet visit home to see my parents and my friends and I think I made the most of it. Sarah came up with the brilliant idea for us to spend some time at the Detroit Historical Museum in downtown Detroit then head over to a new eatery called Dangerously Delicious Pies for lunch. After that, we met up with my parents for one last group hang before I had to board my flight home to LA. The day was fun, the food was delish and the time spent with my loved ones was soul-recharging so, yeah, my Sunday was pretty dope. More »

A Night On The Towne

The TV Guide

Success!! My friends Sarah, Mark and I managed to break free from a 4 mile radius of their beloved Den of SlackTM long enough so that we could enjoy a night out. I hung out with my parents at home for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon before Sarah, Mark and I rallied and ventured out on the town. I’m telling ya, it was really hit or miss for a while. We spoke at length about what we should do and the decision was almost made to change back into our comfy clothes and watch a movie at home … BUT, in the end we decided to head out to Royal Oak, MI for a nice sushi dinner together. The Thrifty Acres

The TV Guide

Last night my friends Sarah, Mark and I had grand plans for our night on the town. We were thinking about heading into Royal Oak, MI for some sushi, maybe hit up a few places in downtown Detroit for drinks afterward and then some late night dancing at my beloved City Club. What actually happened was that we got sucked into the vacuum of laziness called the Den of SlackTM which resulted in a late dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, an extending shopping/play trip to Meijer (the Thrifty Acres) and then a late night pass thru a McDonald’s drive-thru for a late nightcap of Shamrock Shakes … all of this occurring within a 4 mile radius of home. Yeah, we go big here in the 313. More »

Watch: Cheerios Will Release Their First Super Bowl Commercial, Featuring Their Favorite Family

Love.
Family Values

Last year, Cheerios garnered a lot of attention when they featured a biracial family in one of their television commercials. While much of the attention was positive, very sadly other attention generated by the commercial was negative … and downright horribly racist. Through the commercial run, tho, Cheerios never backed down from their decision to air the commercial. This Sunday, for the first time ever, Cheerios will air a Super Bowl Sunday ad during the big game that will feature, once again, the biracial family that they introduced us to last year. Click the embed above to watch this new commercial that will air this weekend and get your first look at Cheerios‘s first Super Bowl commercial ever. Then, click below to watch the original Cheerios commercial that features this adorable family and be reminded of how great that commercial still is. More »

Beyoncé Appears To Be Embarking On Another Vegan Challenge

'#22daysvegan'

Last month we learned that Jay Z and Beyoncé were going vegan, if only for 22 days. As a part of his 44th birthday celebration, Jay took up a challenge set before him by a vegan chef/friend and decided to fully embrace the vegan lifestyle for 22 days. I thought it sounded cool, and mentioned that I’ve had some seriously bomb Caribbean vegan food in my day so I can see how one could fairly easily go vegan with the right food (and the right vegan chefs). And it seems like Beyoncé really enjoyed the experience because a new Instagram photo suggests that she’s going back on another challenge. Click inside for more!

Sharon Osbourne Got Into A HUGE Fight With Jonah Hill’s Brother At The Pre-Grammy Gala Last Night

Water was thrown, Shizz got Real

Earlier today we learned that a LOT of music heavy-hitters either performed or attended Clive Davis‘s annual Pre-Grammy Gala here in LA last night … and right now we learn that last night’s festivities were NOT without a huge bit of drama. For some unknown reason, Sharon Osbourne got into a HUGE fight with Jonah Hill‘s brother Jordan Feldstein during the dinner portion of the gala last night and things got so explosive that Sharon started throwing food and water (and whatever else was within reach) at Feldstein, causing him to run away from the table (as you may know, Jonah Hill was bizzy in NYC last night hosting Saturday Night Live, so he missed the action here in LA). I mean, it’s no secret that Sharon Osbourne has a bad temper but that she would start throwing shizz at someone at the dinner table at such a huge event is kinda crazy … no? Click below and see photos of Sharon actually throwing water on Jonah‘s brother. More »

Popcorn Done RIGHT!

The TV Guide

Yesterday was one of the best days that I have enjoyed in some time mainly because I had NOTHING TO DO and NOWHERE TO BE. I decided that I was going to make my day as enjoyable as possible by not planning a single thing that I had to do. There were a few things that I wanted to to do but I didn’t really stress myself about doing them. A couple of weeks ago, I learned that my fave ice cream company Baskin-Robbins (aka 31 Flavors) had launched a brand new Flavor of the Month called Movie Theater Popcorn and because popcorn is probably my all-time favorite food, I KNEW that I had to give it a try (the last time I blogged about BR‘s Flavor of the Month was back in the summer of 2010 when they brought back my FAVE childhood flavor Pink Bubblegum). Because Flavors of the Month disappear when the months end, I knew that I wanted to try out Movie Theater Popcorn with enough time to go back and get more if I ended up loving it. I made my way down to Manhattan Beach to hang out with Emma and Josh and we all decided to hit up the local Baskin-Robbins for an ice cream treat. I am happy to relay that Movie Theater Popcorn ice cream is so delish that I have to share the goods with all y’all. More »
