Alas … my plans for a date night last night were foiled so it was another quiet night at the ol’ homestead for me. David has been working like crazy all week long, so much so that I’ve barely gotten the chance to spend a solid half hour with him all week. Even tho he did come home early from work so that we could have a date night, he ended up laying down for a quick nap and … he was out. I didn’t have the heart to wake him up so I let the poor guy catch up on his sleep.

Blah … as much as I hate to admit it … I fear I must admit it … I’m sick. I managed to fend off the onset of a cold a couple of months ago but just before David and I flew out to Detroit, I felt the familiar tickle in my throat letting me know that illness was on its way. I did my best to try and fend it off again but the cold Detroit temps outside and the dry heated air inside just put me over the edge yesterday. Blah.

Liam Hemsworth, one of the stars of the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games, celebrated his birthday over the weekend but it looks like his 19 year old girlfriend Miley Cyrus was the one who had all the fun. Liam‘s birthday soirée was held at Club Icon in downtown LA last weekend and was presented with a big ol’ penis cake. Ha Ha, right? Yes, well, as you can see in the FAIRLY NSFW images below, Miley decided to have a bit of fun with the sexually explicit cake and, well, it’s kind of the thing you have to see to believe. Things are looking up for Giuliana Rancic. Last we saw her and Bill were very loved up and happy on New Year’s Eve, feeling well and grateful for all the wonderful things in their lives. Health wise, we have heard that things are going well for her too, which is amazing news. Today we learn that the restaurant that she and hubby, Bill, are opening is about ready and they have a name…

Earlier this week we got to see fab photos of David Beckham all dressed up in a fancy suit and just yesterday, we got to see photos of Becks all dressed down in his undies. Today we get to see new photos of Becks dressed somewhere in between. Becks suited up in one of those plain and styleless gray sweatsuits so that he could run out and grab some take-out fast food at a local In-N-Out here in SoCal. If you can believe it, Becks managed to make the normally fugly outfit look … ok. He even managed to make the greasy fast food look better than usual. SO … last night David took me out for a sumptuous dinner at a new restaurant called ink. that is owned and operated by Top Chef winner Michael Voltaggio. I’m told that David has been trying for some time to get us a reservation and last night was our lucky night. As I’ve said before, I’m not too big on fancy restaurants … but as a big Top Chef fan, I was really looking forward to giving ink. a try. I am very happy to tell you that dinner at ink. was DELISH!

We are living through a time now where the definition of “celebrity” has been dramatically changed with the onset of all the celebrity chefs…Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, Iron’s Chef’s Mario Batali.. and Paula Deen y’all. News broke today that Paula was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes 3 years ago but hasn’t come out and made it public, carrying on cooking her famously rich Southern food.

The fabulous Betty White will celebrate her 90th birthday next Tuesday January 17 but on Monday the 16th, NBC will pay homage to the enduring Golden Girl with a TV special called Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl. This birthday special will feature a host of celebrity stars that will share their Birthday Lurve for our dear Betty. Additionally, the Betty Crocker company is also celebrating their 90th birthday this year … and they graciously provided a massively festive birthday cake for Betty White‘s NBC birthday celebration. Apparently CNN correspondant and daytime TV talk show host Anderson Cooper grew up on another planet because yesterday on his show Anderson he finally succumbed and tried — for the first time, apparently — a few food items that he claims to have never tried before. If you can believe it, and I’m not totally sure that I do, Coop claims that he never tried coffee before … so he did so on camera yesterday. Early this week we learned the joyous news that popstar Hilary Duff is pregnant with her first child with hubby Mike Comrie.
