She Bangs

The TV Guide

Last night I met up with one of my most favoritest people in the world for a long overdue hang session at a fun little place in Koreatown called Toe Bang. My BFF Ollie informed me of the fantastic happy hour that they do at Toe Bang so I figured, yeah, let’s do it. Honestly, I was really only interested in hanging out with Ollie since we haven’t had the chance to do so for far too long. I missed out on seeing her Tuesday night when I was in DTLA so our hang out last night was a must for me. As expected, Ollie and I only had the best time ever … as we are wont to do :) More »

Party Like It’s Nineteen ‘Eighty Two’

The TV Guide

Last night I met up with Emma and Josh for a dinner hang in Koreatown/DTLA after we talked about doing something fun the last time we hung out on Sunday night. Emma had heard about a new place called Pot that supposedly offers up amazing Korean pot dishes. I have been wanting to go to a new barcade called Eight Two that just opened in DTLA so we decided to have dinner at Pot and then head out to Eighty Two for some arcade video game fun. Dinner was good but not amazing. The barcade was fun and pretty amazing. More »

Burger King Offers To Cater Kanye West’s Wedding

Yes, please

Earlier this week we learned of a report that claims that Kanye West purchased a group of Burger King restaurant franchises in Europe as a wedding gift for his babymama/fiancée and today we learn that the fine folks at Burger King have graciously offered to cater Kanye‘s upcoming nuptials. I mean, it makes total sense for a fast food restaurant mogul like Kanye (who also owns a few Fatburger franchises in the greater Chicago, IL area) to enjoy fast food at his wedding reception so … yeah, this sounds like a great idea to me! Dunkin’ Donuts Is Releasing Peeps Donuts For Easter

A match made in heaven

Having grown up in Michigan, I am well aware of the amazingness of Dunkin’ Donuts. Because there are no Dunkin’ Donuts stores here in Southern California (yet), I’ve gotten used to living my life without a little Dunkin’ in it. Normally, I’m able to get thru the day without missing those delicious donuts … until now. Dunkin’ Donuts has announced that they are releasing Peeps-flavored donuts for the Easter holiday this year and they look so damn good, I’m actually contemplating a move BACK to the Midwest just so I can indulge. Ok, I’m not really planning to move but the concept of a Dunkin’ donut married with a Peeps marshmallow is enough to make me want to do some crazy things. MMMM. More »

The ‘New Girl’ On The Block

The TV Guide

Alas … my time here at the beach is quickly coming to an end. My dear friends Emma and Josh will be returning home from their holiday later tonight … which means I have to pack up my bags and return home — far from the sunny warmth of Manhattan Beach. Sigh. I have had a really great time maxin’ and relaxin’ here on my mini-vacay for the past two weeks but as with all good things, my short holiday from the city must come to an end. I did my best to enjoy my final night alone here at the beach. I spent some time outside, hung out at the beach for a while, went out for a drink, came home with a pizza. I also started binge-watching a new show. On the advice of Prince and my BFF Sarah, I decided to start watching New Girl. I started with season 1 and am just about ready to start season 2. I have to admit, the show is pretty funny. More »

Kanye West Reportedly Bought His Fiancée A Burger King Franchise As A Wedding Present

Have It Your Way

So, er, there is a report coming out of the UK that claims that Kanye West purchased a few Burger King franchises in Europe as a wedding gift for his babymama. Honestly, I figured this was just a ridiculous hoax when I first heard it but the fact that Kanye already owns a few Fatburger locations in Chicago, IL lends credence to this Burger King report. As I understand it, Kanye — ever the businessman — understands that fast food franchises make a lot of money so … I guess he felt a few BK franchises would make a nice investment gift for his fiancée. Seems legit, right? More »

Watch: X-Men Character Mystique Teams Up With Carl’s Jr. For A Brilliant New Hamburger Commercial

The Western X-Tra Bacon Thickburger,
#EatLikeYouMeanIt

So, with the big blockbuster movie season nearly upon us, it’s about time that we start to see this year’s batch of commercial movie tie-ins. Thus far, we’ve seen movie tie-ins for cosmetics and kid’s clothing but today we get to see a new commercial for fast food chain Carl’s Jr. When I first learned that Mystique from X-Men would be featured in a Carl’s Jr. commercial for hamburgers, I scoffed at the seemingly terrible idea … and then I saw the commercial and now I love it. Haha. Even tho you probably think that the last thing Mystique would do is appear in a hamburger commercial, check out the video embedded above and you may have a change of heart. Who’s hungry?

Chick-Fil-A Founder Dan Cathy Regrets Speaking Out Against Gay Marriage

"Every leader goes through different phases of ... development"

Once upon a time, I was a big fan of the Chick-Fil-A chain of restaurants. My love for their food began when I loved to Oklahoma City, OK to attend college at the University Of Oklahoma many moons ago. Over the years, I would blog about my love for CFA and I got REALLY excited when I learned that a Chick-Fil-A restaurant would be opening in Hollywood, CA. Then CFA founder Dan Cathy started talking openly about his homophobia and it was widely reported that the company routinely donated to anti-gay groups seeking to ban same-sex marriage (among other things). I decided then and there that CFA wouldn’t get another penny from me. Folks staged protests at CFA restaurants around the country and business suffered. That was 2 years ago. Today, we hear from Cathy that he has had a change of heart regarding his open anti-gay views. While he maintains that he still remains true to his religious beliefs, he plans to no longer speak out against gays, gay marriage, gay rights, etc. HMMM. Does this mean that it’s OK to eat at Chick-Fil-A again? More »

Santa Patrick’s Day

The TV Guide

Yesterday morning I woke up in beautiful Santa Barbara, CA and right now, I’m back in my temporary home in Manhattan Beach, CA recovering from a very fun St. Patrick’s Day. I didn’t drink and party like you’re supposed to on St. Patrick’s Day, instead I spent my day in the company of really good friends on a very LONG day. We were able to enjoy a leisurely morning in Santa Barbara before we made the drive back home to LA. The weather was bright and sunny and traffic, if you can believe it, wasn’t Hell on Earth. All in all, it was a pretty nice St. Pat’s. More »
