‘Toy Story 3’ Reveals Another New Character

Meet Stretch
Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Last week we got meet a new batch of animated characters featured in the upcoming sequel film Toy Story 3 and today we get to meet one more new character from the flick. Take a gander at and say hello to Stretch:

Stretch is a fun-loving under-the-sea octopus friend that shines in glittery purple. Kids can count her eight rubbery legs and dozens of sticky suckers that are sure to stand up to rough-and-tumble play and extreme stretching. Toss her high on the wall and watch her climb her way down! Clean in mild soap solution to remove dust and lint.

UM … yeah … Stretch looks and sounds A LOT like a Wacky Wall Walker, don’t she? I do like that she is glittery purple tho, that’s a nice touch. The more I see from Toy Story 3 the more excited I am for the film. Is it wrong that I totally want to own and play with all the new toy characters being introduced in Toy Story 3? Am I alone here?

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Releases A 10-Second Preview Clip

Ladies & Gentlemen, start your squealing
Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Hang on to your seats, y’all … an early (and extremely short, blink-and-you-missed it sort of) preview teaser clip from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has made its way to the Internets, giving us our FIRST LOOK at the next installment of The Twilight Saga movie franchise:

The highly anticipated first trailer for Summit Entertainment’s THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will be available to the media on Thursday, March 11 at 6:00 AM PST/9:00 AM EST via satellite (please see coordinates below). The 90 second trailer’s contents are being kept under tight wraps until its debut. Prior to this, on Wednesday, March 10 a 10-second teaser of that trailer will be available at 6:00 AM PST/9:00 AM EST. The full trailer for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE can also be seen in theatres in front of Summit Entertainment’s REMEMBER ME, which also stars Robert Pattinson. In THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between Edward and Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner reprise their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. The film is directed by David Slade, based on the novel “Eclipse” by Stephenie Meyer, with a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg. U.S. release via Summit Entertainment, June 30, 2010.

The full Eclipse trailer will make its debut tomorrow but today we get the sneak peek of that trailer. Despite being only 10 seconds long, it does hit all of the Twilight high-points that we have come to expect from the franchise — gloomy Edward, Bella’s bad wig and shirtless Jacob. After the jump, check out the teaser clip in full …

‘Tron: Legacy’ Releases A New Movie Trailer

Like Father, Like Son
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

The long-awaited, much-anticipated sequel Tron: Legacy won’t be released in theaters until December of this year but a new trailer for the film is showing in front of screenings of Alice In Wonderland. Because David and I attended an early screening of Wonderland, we were not able to see any trailers before the film so I’ve yet to see this new Tron 2 trailer on the big screen (and in 3D). Still, the trailer has been made available for viewing online … here are a few screencaps:

I’m a BIG fan of the original film — which stars new Academy Award-winning actor Jeff Bridges — and I am really excited for this sequel. This trailer looks goood, y’all. In case you’ve yet to see it or just want another look, you can watch the full length trailer for Tron: Legacy after the jump …

Kelis Releases An Ultraviolet New Promo Photo

Prepares to release a new album titled 'Flesh Tone'
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Kelis, who’s Milkshake famously brings all the boys to the yard, has recently released a new single titled Acapella (currently #1 on the Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Chart), is about to release a new album titled Flesh Tone and shares with us today a new promo photo that was shot by famed photographer Rankin. Here is our first look at Kelis’s new photo along with the full text of a press release announcement of the new music she will be releasing later on this year:

GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Kelis topsBillboard’s Dance/Club Play Songs chart again, taking “Acapella,” the lead single from her forthcoming album, Flesh Tone, to No. 1 this week. Her hit “Milkshake” topped the same chart in 2003 and sold over 1.2 million digital singles. Flesh Tone, which Billboard singled out as one of 2010’s “Best Bets,” will be released this spring by will.i.am Music Group/Interscope Records. “Kelis has always been a best kept secret. The cool people know Kelis,” will.i.am told Vibe.com in a recent interview. “She can be big…As big as the Peas.” People selected the new single for its “Hot Downloads” column, noting: “Kelis brings her milkshake back with ‘Acapella,’ a frenetic techno groove from her forthcoming disc, Flesh Tone.” “The ‘Milkshake’ temptress returns with another tall glass of delicious – and this disco-tipped track from her upcoming album is a feathery dance-floor delight,” said Entertainment Weekly, placing “Acapella” on “The MustList” while accesshollywood.com said, “this track is the Jam.com!” The single – produced by David Guetta (producer of The Black Eyed Peas hit single “I GOTTA FEELING”) – is available on the iTunes Store, at Kelis’ website (www.iamkelis.com), where fans can stream it first, and at www.masterbeat.com. Sherecently shot the video for “Acapella” in Los Angeles with the director team of Chris Cottam and Rankin. She will launch Flesh Tone, her first album in nearly four years, with a promotional tour that kicks off at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, FL in late March. Additional details will be announced shortly. In addition to working with Guetta, Kelis recorded Flesh Tone with several other influential producers, including will.i.am, Free School, Boys Noize, Burnz, DJ Ammo and Benny Benassi.

I do love her new single and I really love this photo. In the past year, Kelis has had a lot of things going on in her life. She split from her hubby Nas, she gave birth to a baby boy and she got into a public scuffle with PETA. Now, at long last, Kelis is gettin’ back to the music … where she belongs. I’ve been jammin’ on Acapella for weeks now … I’m dying for the new album. I hope it’s as hot as I think it’s gonna be … Kelis is back, y’all! It’s about damn time.

First Look: The US Version Of ‘Skins’

Like it or not, here it comes
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Last August we learned the DREADFUL news that MTV is planning to adapt the UK series Skins for US television … which pretty much ever fan of the original series is vehemently against. The UK version is raw, outrageous and absolutely British … the fear is that the US version will be watered down, sanitized and a poor attempt at Britishness which will only result in lameness. Well, like it or not … plans for a US version of Skins have moved forward from that announcement last year and today, courtesy of CelebriScoop, we get our first look at the US cast of Skins:

The U.S. Skins cast have officially been chosen and the filming has already started. The pilot for the show was filmed last week, which means the show won’t be aired until around September or so. Fortunately for you, my friend knows someone who is auditioning, so I’ve got a picture for all of you. However, at this time I am unsure of who is who or what characters the people in this photo will be playing. I also do not know whether they are rewriting a plot or what the plan is. I do hope it allows for all the famous sex-driven alcohol-loving party-crazed teen kicks as the U.K. series.

I’m sorry … I am totally against this idea. The original show, which can be seen here in the US on BBC America, renders a US version totally moot. I find it highly doubtful that I will enjoy this new version nearly as much as I love the original. I’ve been watching new eps of the 4th season of Skins online since the show debuted last month. Last week’s ep, which focused on J.J., was really fantastic … I just cannot see the US version having nearly as much charm, wit and substance. After the jump, check out one more photo of this new cast of Skins who are coming our way whether we like it or not …

First Look: John Barrowman On ‘Desperate Housewives’

He will play a bad boy named Patrick
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

In January we got our first look at Buffyverse and former Dexter star Julie Benz on the ABC drama Desperate Housewives (who has since settled into her very juicy new role) and today, courtesy of After Elton, we get our first look at another newcomer to the show — John Barrowman. Barrowman, who is known for his role of Captain Jack Harkness on the BBC America series Torchwood, comes to Wisteria Lane later on this season as a baddie named Patrick. Here is one of the new promo pics of John making his appearance on DH:

We know all you John Barrowman fans have been very keyed up about the news that one of our all time favorites would be joining the cast of Desperate Housewives for six episodes as the baddie in the Angie (Drea de Matteo) storyline. We’re still a ways off from seeing John’s first episode, but we’re mighty pleased to exclusively present you the very first pictures ABC has released of John as Patrick. The woman John is with is played by Emma Crawford and if I were her character, I’d be mighty careful about who I let in my house. Something tells me that despite those very pretty flowers, Patarick is up to no good. Anyone have any guesses as to what is going on here?

Wee!! I love John Barrowman … I think he will make a great addition to the Desperate Housewives cast, even if he’s only gonna be on for a short spell. After the jump, check out a couple more promo photos from Barrowman’s debut on DH

Rachelle Lefevre Teams Up With Best Friends Animal Society To Save Some Animals

'Puppies Aren't Products'
Monday, March 8th, 2010

Last month we learned that Twilight star Kellan Lutz teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to speak out on behalf of their Always Adopt, Never Buy campaign and today we get our first look at ex-Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre’s similar promo video for the Best Friends Animal Society. Here are a few screencaps:

The message of this PSA is the same as the Always Adopt, Never Buy campaign by PETA … but this one is called Puppies Aren’t Products. It’s nice to see that Lefevre got a new gig so soon after she got the axe from the Twilight movie franchise. After the jump, check out Rachelle Lefevre’s promo video in full …
